If you're 14 your old enough to legally get a job in the U.S. If you don't live in the U.S. don't get offended. I'm 13 and I worked last summer at a constuction company because my dad got me a permit. My brother has been working at the same constuction company since age 9.
Really? Hmm, funny I'm writing a paper about that now ^^;. But actually, I do work with my mom as an employee but I don't really consider it a job, because it's my mom's business and I don't think I need any permission to work with her. thats why I didn't consider it, I'm really sorry.
Child Abuse is when the child doesn't know any better, like smoking when you didn't know it was bad.
My brother and I made INFORMED decisions. During the school year, we study. During the summer, we work. Because we actually get off our asses and work doesn't mean Child Abuse. And if you start spouting laws, it's child LABOR.
Next time you see a kid working, remember that he's not leeching off his parents to provide for him.

and anyway, I don't leech my parents for money, I jhust either do random extra essays from school, my art homework (which is a lot), and babysit + dog walking for money. (and my parents give me ten bucks at the end of the week if I get everything done and my teachers are satisfied)
Forgot to mention in previous post, my "lazy ass" comment was another misunderstanding. You see, in that Boarding school I go to, there's a ton of rich brats, and the few like me on scholarships. I got way too sick of rich brats complaining about their life, so much that I kinda snapped at you.
