The microphone is very flimsy, if you're planning on getting this headset, DON'T. Go with the Carcharias, same price, but much more durable, the microphone that is. I still haven't gotten around to replacing them because my family's so poor. T_T

Good headset. Still use them. Good mic good sound. They can be uncomfortable for a while but with wear they will adjust to your head and you wont feel it anymore. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem the sound is great but seems like they can go much louder but don't. Tinkered with different configurations still no success. Saw someone on the razer site with same problem. I'd say grab em if you can get em at a good price otherwise grab a newer model.

I have the Carcharias and they're perfect for me but if you play FPS games then go for a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, i'm a mmorpg player.

I had this headset, I agree with a lot of what was said.
But just so you know, after a few months of use not even that loud the left cup has gone very crackly, also after a few hours of use it does get a little painful on the ears.
Other than that I have really enjoyed owning the Razer Piranha headset.
@clankdud Yeah but the most common problem with Fatal1ty headset is that other of the earpads(?) break down. I had Fatal1ty and the left thing broke, it didnt give sound and after that I got new headset from the shop because I got the.. thing what I dont remember and then after about 6 months it broke too.. But if you get it to last long then its definitely worth the price

Mine is the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming USB Headset - Smaller Box though as I am not quite sure about the differences. I got it half off on newegg so I was quite happy no matter what and it is ultra comfy.
I bought these and I have to say they're uncomfortable. After a 2 hour gaming session, my ears were aching from wearing these. I wear glasses and I don't have a massive head but these were damn right uncomfortable. I bought these to replace my Creative Fatality Headset which had a broken microphone (after about 2 years of use) but they were very comfortable even when wearing them for 2 hours or longer gaming sessions. I wanna ask you people about a special headset that I used to own; Deltaco HL-69. What I liked with them was that there was a special feature inside the speakers, see inside the speakers there were a couple of vibrators that made the headset vibrate in response to bass sounds to bring a little more reality to sounds of explosions and gun shots, and this feature made songs better to listen to. bought and tried and i can tell u that the bass in this headset is ass kicking but prolong wearing results in pain on the ears(no it was not the bass's fault) USB was for the power-light... real jac is the 3.5mm thats all... sold it after 3month use due to un-suitable usage for prolong use(4-6hrs)

Because for the price this headset is pretty good (unless you get a lemon).
In reviews it only makes sense to review the item based on other items in their price range. If you were to compare these to, let's say, a pair of Bose headphones, then he would say these suck, but Bose headphones are also twice the price or higher, depending on the model.
It just wouldn't be fair to give the Piranhas a bad review by comparing them to a pair of Bose headphones because the Piranhas are much cheaper.
I understand that you can't compare Piranha to a pair of Bose. But at the same time I think it's better to say the bad things about the headset, and try it a couple of days or several hours, so you can make an opinion about it. Not just get it from the shop, try it for like 5 mins then tell us that no better headset exists.
He did mentioned that it does not have 5.1 surround, which is a negative.
And he does pretty reliable reviews. I assume he has used it for more than 5 minutes, because he knows that that isn't long enough to give an accurate review.
why don't anybody talk about the frequency response? 18Hz~22KHz this is more than the ear can hear, but you sure as hell can feel the vibrates of the lower than 20Hz and higher than 20KHz which means you will have bass you can not get almost anywhere else (is won't exactly shake your room but it'll feel nice on your head and ears and be clear as crap cuz it's limit is lower than your hearing!!! means it isn't reaching it's limit to give you the bass, when it does it's too low to notice!!
Because some people expect high quality from such high brands like Razor and Logitech etc.
But after my purchase of a logitech clear chat which I expected to be good (Was actually terrible) I think alot of people would want to know what they are buying.

The ear padding is very uncomfortable on this headset. They sit right on your ears, so there can be a lot of pressure that starts to hurt your ears after about a half hour. For the money, you can get a 5.1 surround sound headset with oversized ear ups!

Don't get it, it broke since the place where it takes the most abuse is made out of weak plastic, I taped it, though.

I wanna ask you people about a special headset that I used to own; Deltaco HL-69. What I liked with them was that there was a special feature inside the speakers, see inside the speakers there were a couple of vibrators that made the headset vibrate in response to bass sounds to bring a little more reality to sounds of explosions and gun shots, and this feature made songs better to listen to. What I wonder is, are there any other headsets that has this kind of feature?

bought and tried and i can tell u that the bass in this headset is ass kicking but prolong wearing results in pain on the ears(no it was not the bass's fault) USB was for the power-light... real jac is the 3.5mm thats all... sold it after 3month use due to un-suitable usage for prolong use(4-6hrs)

never tried the piranha i have megalodon and it is a nice headset my clan says wow your voice is so clean now with your headset sow i think it's a good one and nice bass from the headset self i recommend this headset a bit expensive but it's worth it

this is an on the ear headphone not the OVER the ear headphone that covers your whole ear....
so for an ON the ear headphone this is for me the best ON the ear headphone....

Because for the price this headset is pretty good (unless you get a lemon).
In reviews it only makes sense to review the item based on other items in their price range. If you were to compare these to, let's say, a pair of Bose headphones, then he would say these suck, but Bose headphones are also twice the price or higher, depending on the model.
It just wouldn't be fair to give the Piranhas a bad review by comparing them to a pair of Bose headphones because the Piranhas are much cheaper.

I understand that you can't compare Piranha to a pair of Bose. But at the same time I think it's better to say the bad things about the headset, and try it a couple of days or several hours, so you can make an opinion about it. Not just get it from the shop, try it for like 5 mins then tell us that no better headset exists.

He did mentioned that it does not have 5.1 surround, which is a negative.
And he does pretty reliable reviews. I assume he has used it for more than 5 minutes, because he knows that that isn't long enough to give an accurate review.

why don't anybody talk about the frequency response? 18Hz~22KHz this is more than the ear can hear, but you sure as hell can feel the vibrates of the lower than 20Hz and higher than 20KHz which means you will have bass you can not get almost anywhere else (is won't exactly shake your room but it'll feel nice on your head and ears and be clear as crap cuz it's limit is lower than your hearing!!! means it isn't reaching it's limit to give you the bass, when it does it's too low to notice!!

Because some people expect high quality from such high brands like Razor and Logitech etc.
But after my purchase of a logitech clear chat which I expected to be good (Was actually terrible) I think alot of people would want to know what they are buying.

The ear padding is very uncomfortable on this headset. They sit right on your ears, so there can be a lot of pressure that starts to hurt your ears after about a half hour. For the money, you can get a 5.1 surround sound headset with oversized ear ups!
