GH3 PS3 Les Paul Strumming Problem

I have a problem with me GH5 guitar controller whammy bar

Anytime when I play a song and I always get those Long notes. my whammy bar got a mind of its own n plays by itself. does anyone know how to fix this?

its the ps3 les paul.. for some damn reason there are some people who got lucky and dont have many issues with theirs but I have 2 brand new ones one works and has that strum lag issue like most les paul controllers and the other one does not even sync with the wireless adapter it's a world wide issue with the ps3 les paul controllers I just wish i could fix it

i just bought this game for ps3 and i have a rebel yell guitar thats compatible with rockband and guitar hero but for some reason is not working with this game. can anyone help?

This is common, it's called "overstrumming" where sometimes when you strum up or down it registers an extra strum, thus breaking your combo.

There are many fixes for this, one called the "paper trick" fix which you should look up. Please note though that the fix is only temporary.

yeah i switched to ps3 also and ive got the same problem for guitar hero and rockband. its not a software, lag or a plugging problem.

the problem is the guitar itself (hardware issue). the cursor just jumps all over the place while strumming. it does it also in the game where you miss notes over and over again.

solution: buy the ghwt/gh5 guitar. it works perfect like i was used to all the time. the les paul for ps3 wont get fixed anymore...

my guitar has almost the same problem, when i hold the first 3 buttons it strums down, when ever i hold those buttons i cant strum down, and sometimes some of the buttons sleep and then come back.

this is normal... they were probably cheap on the menues since it doesnt affect gameplay

when I strum down on my guitar the strum gets stuck abit and then goes back to the middle. But when I strum down to up then its fine. This really causes difficulties because i cannot downpick fast. Please help. I just got the game and I think it came out like that.

same thing with me on ps2. and my friends on xbox, and anothers on the ps3. i think the strumbar is so big and the register is the same size as always and you have to hit it just right were the register is. hope this helps

Are you using the les paul w/ the detachable neck? Because if thats the case then the little metal pieces on the end of the neck, (when you detach it and look at the part that goes into the guitar's body), are the problem. It doesnt have anything to do with the strummer itself. I had the same problem and had to buy a new guitar... Good Luck!

just playing ttfaf in expert and strumming down works?? I've done that shit like a billion times, one thing!! I did contact once Activision of my issue, and they just told me to contact RedOctane for the warranty since there is a sticker on the back of the guitar that says "WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED", so I assume that sticker has me protected for a replacement, I hope so, I hope for next game they do something good with the strum bars and frets to avoid problems

I have gh3 for ps3 and I have some serious issues with the strum bar too, and I quickly noticed it cuz I play expert and I'm very good at it since I hardly miss, and than I suddenly noticed that my strum bar only strums up well and somehow when I strum down is kinda stuck, sometimes it strums down, but with difficulty, and sometimes when I play the notes, they cut off and I'm really pissed off of it cuz is a very entertaining game and I can't seem to find a solution for this, any solutions??

My Guitar used to do that, I just kept playing TTFATF on Expert or strumming up and down really fast and it worked fine

I have a PS3 and my Les Paul and it does the exact opposite instead of jumping it doesn't respond to the strumming. It seems like Guitar Hero and Rock Band are trying to screw PS3 owners.

Sorry, I just read your description. The problem i have is it will automatically strum down when i switch the controller on without strumming down at all.

well first off where did u buy the guitar from because when i returned mine to gamestop every single guitar i got from there was shit and also what setting do u play on? Oh and i returned the guitars about 20 times and they were all exactly the same.

i would suggest that you return your les paul and get the nyko frontman that's what i decided to do and it is a flawless guitar.
