Many, many thanks for uploading this clip! I wish I could hear more from his past performances, like the duet with Regine Velasquez. His voice is just SOARING in that video! It seems he now has *maybe* just a little less raw power, but his feeling and voice texture are simply umbeliavable. His voice has something...magic...he is one of the very best singers I have ever heard. Ever. And given the energy and intensity of his stage performances, the quality of his singing is even more sensational.

The only thing similar between AP and SP is that they sing the same songs. Their vocal textures, styles and range are absolutely different. I don't see why people say he sounds like SP when he actually doesn't. To say one is better than the other is completely irrelevant. Apples to oranges. He was obviously chosen to carry on the legacy songs as well as the new ones - not because he sounds like SP but because he's vocal attributes fit in perfectly with the band's style.

Neil Schon and the rest said very clearly that "in order to move forward, they need a singer that will sound on which Journey is supposed to sound. Journey was made famous by Steve Perry. AP, SP impersonator is hired by Journey to replace Steve. If AP was not a Steve sound alike he would have never got the job or are you too fucking dumb to see that? Elvis impersonators are a dime a dozen and AP is a Steve impersonator. AP was never an impersonator. He may have that SP voice but he's got better range than SP. Otherwise, you just need to get over it. And if you can't sleep at night, worrying that AP really doesn't sound like SP. But Arnel already said that "there is only one voice, Steve Perry." And just want to celebrate the heritage of Journey. If u can't accept it, you may as well listen to Frank Sinatra.

Hi darryls007, Its seems you have difficulty accepting everythings that happened to Journey. Let's be clear here. Neil Schon and the rest said very clearly that "in order to move forward, they need a singer that will sound on which Journey is supposed to sound. Arnel is the last option after days trolling the internet. And Arnel says "Anytime SP wants to be back with Journey, HE is happy to step out." But you have to accept the band's decision. Journey needs to move on. And so are you.

According to Arnel he could never be steve. He's Arnel entirely a different person and why would you expect him to be like steve?He performs differently,sings differently and acts differently as arnel the new Journey singer.theres nothing u can do about it,maybe u can stay in bed stop listening and watching joureny music and wait for your death along with your idol steve!

Journey was made famous by Steve Perry. AP, SP impersonator is hired by Journey to replace Steve. If AP was not a Steve sound alike he would have never got the job or are you too fucking dumb to see that? Elvis impersonators are a dime a dozen and AP is a Steve impersonator. Maybe you can jump in bed with AP, kiss my ass and go to hell sister boy.

AP was never an impersonator. He may have that SP voice but he's got better range than SP. He's done cover songs for cover bands from Aerosmith, Survivor, Heart, Bryan Adams, Led Zeppelin and more.. and he nailed them all. It only shows he can sing more than the SP sound. Btw, SP would not be SP without Journey. It's a band and SP is just part of the system that needs to be replaced and that's a fact.

Journey is a history group that is trying to make a comeback and they will have to do better than Steve Perry re-runs with a new singer. If Steve Perry can be replaced, so can the whole band. Bass, Piano and Guitar players are a dime a dozen. and I find it odd that all AP is doing on utube is Steve Perry hits from two decades ago.
And in closing, opinions are like ass holes, everyone has their own.
