In verse 31 of surah nur (chapter 24) Allah tells the beliving women to cover, and we follow the sunnah of the wives of the prophet. so on the day of judgement, Allah will ask why we did not do hijab. Many (but not all) Muslimahs wear hijab by choice, but it's absurd to think that covering one's hair makes them superior in the eyes of God! Let me be 100% absolutely completely honest, I went to college in the USA. We had a language academy that muslim boys 18 ~ 24 went to. These guys did everything they possibly could in the USA, they smoke, drank and chase every girl wearing a mini-skirt. The hijab is an outward symbol of ALLEGED inward modesty -- but I fear that many who depend on outward trappings don't possess the pure INNER spirit of humility! Subhanallah, I've seen many girls in hijab dress and act modestly, but also some girls who wear hijab but wear tight, form-fitting clothing, dancing in mixed company, and once, kissing a boy on the lips in public. However, when Morality is placed by the Creator and in the examples of the Prophet(pbuh), mankind has better guidance on understanding what it is. 1. Science can't answer every question, nor does it take into account morality.
2. "Equal Morality" by human standards completly differs. One person could say what Hitler did (massacre Jews) was the right thing to do since there was "Social pressure" to do it. Someone else may disagree. It would be the same for prostitution, some think it's fine, others don't.
