The CPU and the flash (the NAND) are on the same chip. Also on this chip are the pre-IPL and the hardware that is preventing Pandora from working.

When you REMOVE this and replace it with the chip from the PSP2000, you no longer have access to ANYTHING that makes it a PSP3000. You are absolutely NOWHERE closer to hacking an unmodified system.
