the scene when Hera walks around looking at the marines desperately holding the line against the cylons had me at the edge of my seat, i was nervous as hell then i saw cavil marching and all the marines falling back, i actually thought it was the end then and there
Though I never understood that. Why not jump in a dozen raptors, plant them on the hull of a basestar, and jump em all away. That would destroy practically the entire ship.
@spacegeeks3 I don't mean this episode. I mean whenever they'd be fighting any basestar (IE vs the ones over New Caprica). Spool up the drives, fly real close to the center of the star, and WHOOSH, boom, bang, lotsa love toasters :)
I wonder if the actor that played the Aaron cylon (who fufilled the de facto "leadership" role) was upset that Cavil started calling the shots. You'll notice that Aaron has much less screen time once Cavil appears.
Aaron Doral is the worst. "It's a trick!" When Chief kills Tori. -_- He is just the stupidest cylon. Not to mention his terrific logic of "His shirt's teal, mine's maroon" in The Plan.
I'm a guy and I can't help but cry, when I realize that any TV I watch wil never get any better than this. Battlestar touched my soul. It's like I was onboard and went through everything with Kara, Lee, Bill, and Laura. I actually love them like they were family. This show touched me that much. It's had a profound effect on my life. I've been suicidal before many times, but this show helped me to want to live and contribute to others in need. Does that sound crazy or pathetic? This show saved me
For whatever reason, I just want to reach out and give you a big, big, big hug. Hopelessness seems to disappear when we discover a revelation. BSG is our entire story of survival, even if told as a simple parable. We know something far, far greater is waiting for us, out in the Universe. I am glad you didn't rob yourself (this lifetime, anyway), of being a part of the revelation (deep, spiritual, universal, and human) to come. Be well and Go Carefully.
@WickIDwarrior its a representation universal to something every culture has seen, the jews from egypt, the trail of tears for the natives, the famine for the irish. I can say it awakened the Irish spirit in me, kinda reenforced the fighters will, this was a very rare show that was able to touch and affect people in ways television rarely can. I don't think there has been any piece of art quite as powerful and effective on my and who i am as this has been
this "song" is pure knowledge about order and practicig in fight... they are masters, they are the japanese culture they are alone with everyone else, we are they are our past, our future, they are what we will be and what we will become in a sooner or later futur.. remember the 13 tribes of Kobol, it's in the deepest basics of our culture...
The part between 4.01 and 4.15... WONDERFUL... I remember exactly when that piece played in the final episode... That's when Number 1 Cavil with "Loyal Centurion squad around him", breakthrough the corridors of Galactica... What a georgeous scene that was !! Unfortunately ((and ridiciculously)) he killed himself later...
He was a reversed pinocchio. He wanted to be a "real' robot. Yet even as he saying that he was having an emotional tirade. He was obsessed with getting the Five to see his side of things, to justify his actions. He was calculating, but under all that he was driven by emotion, and hated it. He hated himself.
His plan fell apart. One of his
'parents' were killed, and they never saw his side anyways. His chance of getting resurrection was gone. Now on a ship, doomed to be shot or air locked.
It's actually neither. Watch it. Give it a chance, seriously. I've been shocked by how much I've enjoyed it. And remember, if Caprica does well, that drastically increases our chances of seeing a "middle" series set during the first war, and wouldn't that be awesome?
They brought back Kobol's Last Gleaming, partly with the style of Cult of Baltar, Boomer's theme (in part 1) and there was a Shape of Things to Come cue (and it does end with a Final Five/Watchtower cue). This series was so unbelievably awesome.
By the time Caprica is finished I won't be able to watch anything not set in the BSG universe and scored by Bear McCreary or Richard Gibbs (he did come up with the intro theme, known to many as Head Six's theme). T_T
I just ordered this online. Waiting for it to come in. I already own all the soundtracks including the miniseries. I also need to get the Caprica soundtrack.
4:00 is one of my favorite cues; this plays when Cavil and the Centurions storm the hallways of Galactica and it just adds to the hopelessness and terror of the final battle.
Fair point, but normally it's more directly obvious in the series when that happens; there's nothing before the nukes that, I think, actually requires god-things involvement. Nothing that says Galactica didn't kick ass good and proper of its own accord, at least. Plus the slow motion section entering CIC as Adama shoots the Simon is rather ace.
brings back such memories that it inspired me to go back and watch the whole series again on Netflix, and I'm mid-season 2 now.

Agreed, that part was the climax of the entire series for me.

@UnionLords From what i heard it was Dean Stockwell's idea for him to kill himself at the end, the plan was (i think) for someone else to kill him.

Too bad. That would've been epic.

Of course it is funny that the next time we see Cavil's assult group he's the only one still alive, so much for going on the offensive.

It was particularly brilliant in that, despite all the prophecy/god/whoo stuff, Galactica still won the battle outright.
