  • I know a fix for it ;) found out my self ;)

    go to desktop, rightclick , leftclick on Show, click on "Show miniaplications on desktop" then click it again :) ha!gadgets back!

  • Hey there all... I deleted the whole ZONE folder!!! is that ok?? tried to recover from BIN but it wasnt there!!! please advise!!

    then delete the file letter L and leave the rest and resetart your computer thanks

  • Sim, funcionou pra mim tambem. Simplesmente apaguei a chave ZONAS do registro e todas suas sub-entradas. Yeap, it worked for me too. I just deleted the ZONAS registry and its sub-entries. Obrigado. Thanks

  • I had the same problem, and I solved it like you said!! I deleted Zones and desktop gadgets are working fine right now!! Thanks a lot ginnel99!!!

    coz i have also got this problem.....and googled it to death but no avail...

    i hv tried several solutions....SFC/scannow , .dll solution , UAC and wat not...

    i hv not yet tried the registry thing coz m afraid of doing that...also video posted as solution...... the link is expired...help me ......

  • Try and return UAC (User Account Control) Settings back to default.

  • I tried this one and it worked!

    Here's what worked for me after everything else failed. I didn't attempt repair/update install though. This is much simpler.

    Stop the sidebar.exe process. Use regedit and delete this key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mi­crosoft\Windows\CurrentVersion­\Internet Settings\Zones\].

    Restart sidebar process.

    Have no idea why it works but it does. Found it on another forum. I applied this fix several days ago and system has been running fine.

  • @ginnel99 it didn't work for me when I restarted and i clicked on a desktop gadget it gave me the little tiny yellow box again and for the calender it doesn't even show up :O
