proposition 2 is a joke that deals with peoples emotions over reality, I would like to please know how many people have been to farms before, first hand, on more than one occasion to see what what the circle of life is like firsthand, instead of very good rhetoric portrayed by the media.
Peopleasylum, I believe you may be right! We sure seem to be heading that direction. God gave us free will; it is largely our choice how we bring about our demise. We have nearly destroyed the ozone layer and no longer are fully protected from all the natural disasters. We were shook up a bit with Mad Cow Disease. But not enough for commercial Farms to clean things up. The animals that are sick are being slaughtered and fed to people!! Americans deserve to have healthy meat.
I agree with the prop 2 but what about caring for humans. Why is it we care so much about animals but can't take care of our own homeless. Where is that Prop?
Ignorance is a dish enjoyed best alone. No where is it stated that Prop 2 will be using funds taken from care of our homeless. This is not about funding, Kap! This is about how we treat animals on commercial farms. The USDA is a facade; they don't set foot on these factory farms. The best we can do is create rules to govern their treatment and hope they operate withing the boundries. Did you know the the Humane Society also helps abused people?
QueenTeriqua, You are 100% correct !! Prop 2, is a reflection of who we are as people, and right now we don't look so good, that we as a population allow this kind avoidable pain and suffering it just horrible. We are not talking about a couple minutes, or hours of suffering, we are talking of entire lives of unnecessary avoidable pain. It is just unacceptable !!! Vote yes for Prop 2.
You are correct, there is no way to get people to care about animals or children. This is why we need to MANDATE IT! Vote Prop 2; it's a step in the right direction. It's very sad that some people are so terribly heartless.
Isn't there another way to get these farmers to respond rather then taking away there liveyhoods and chasing them out of CA. because the poor and just about everyperson I know from
seriously every economic background will feel this one. free range is simply to $. The main thing we care about is the chicken costs and per pound at the store and health risks and outsourcing.I know retired people who live off chicken alone and also feed there cats the same.
Hopefully, CA is the first of our 50 states to approved Prop 2. I'm hopeful this is a groundbreaking for the US Commercial Farming Industry. These farms are so agressive on selling in volume that they have gotten sloppy at our expense. Who had to pay for the recent meat recalls? There were downed cows slaughtered and the meat was sold at a discount to schools, nursing homes and homeless shelters. I applaud California for this; they will sell the safest meat.
I grew up not far from Los Angeles on a small family ranch surrounded by cows, chickens, sheep and other farm animals. None of the animals were intensively confined like on factory farms. And none of the animals were fed growth hormones or other short-cut-to-profit drugs. It was a rich experience watching the hens lovingly tend to their chicks, and the cows nurse their calves. Natural experiences denied them on factory farms. Help end this crime against nature: vote YES ON PROP 2.
aw.
why torture the animals when they're already sacrificing their lives for us?

How can we get people to care about animals when they don't even care about each other or their kids living under fascism?

repenney; THE VOICE OF REASON!
That is what we need; Family Farms. I, for one, would pay twice the price for meat from one of these ranches. Thank you for the enlightenment.
