Based off your recipe you preffer less sugar in your bread.Green banannas and the reduction of sugar is a healthy choice for healthy minded people.I can see why eurpoians consider their woman fat and americans consider europian women skinny.Intresting isn't it?
if its a recipe for bread shouldnt it be bread flour ? basically his just making a cake ...plus it does matter how ripe they are because the riper the sweeter they are.
Thank you, just made this and is in the oven. The batter came out a bit too thick for some reason so I added a little bit of milk. Hope it comes out ok!
I'm not sure if it is my screen, but there were still green... I do like mine over ripe, makes very little difference to the taste but it is easier to mash so you do get a finer consistency. I also do not measure by per banana, I generally like to have about 500g of mushed bananas, so the bigger they are the easier it is for me. Also! Brown sugar on the top of the loaf before you cook it, amazing.
Is your brown sugar as hard as a brick!! The Banana Seal will keep your brown sugar soft and fresh for months - right in the bag it came in! Check it out at this website: SaveTheBananaSeal
It DOES make a difference how ripe the bananas are. You saw it yourself he had a bit of a trouble mashing the bananas. They NEED to be overripe aka freckeled so that its easier to mash them and so the bread tastes better.
@shaunneildsir Pecans would be nice. They have a great taste to them just like almonds do. Walnuts arent my thing so I would use either pecans or almonds.
you know it really is better to use over ripe bananas it gives the bread a sweeter taste. That's why my family used to make banana bread whenever we had left over bananas left out that were just about to spoil. There not much good for eating anymore but they make a delicious bread. Save the fresh bananas for a regular fruit snack.
@kristian2meter Thats true, but our bodies also excrete that same amount of potassium-40 which is naturally occuring. Hence, our potassium-40 levels do not increase after eating a banana. In short, eating a banana does not increase natural radiation levels. =)
@Gogoplata205: You are both correct, however there is a limited radiation DOSE assosiated with eating a banana not a radiation power. If the potassium-40 did remain in the body indefinately, the radiation dose would depend on the remaining life span of the individual consumer. However, there is good data about how long an indigested amount of potassium remains in the body, this time is multiplied by the radiation power, and the result is the dose .
I like this alot, Can you tell me if I can substitute the butter with oil? and instead of brown I'd like to use raw would this be fine and would the amounts change?
Hey Niko..made this today with my 6year old, we totally effed it up! lol burnt on outside but inside still taste great! but falls apart when we cut it to slices. Im thinking too much of something? dont know dont bake often lol but will try this recipe again and get it right 2nd time! cheers .

Only person who's ever asked that question, and I absolutely prefer the smallest ones I can find. The smaller the banana, the more custard-like the texture.
this looks pretty delish. ill give it a try and comment back. when i make banana bread i use peacans and vanilla extract. as a dessert it goes well with vanilla ice cream! i also think they say overly ripe because its easier to mash. (though the riper the banana the sweeter it taste)
