Just imagine listening to this on a summer evening watching the sunset on a seashore... the wind slowly blowing through your hair and softly touching your skin... You go further into the sea and you let yourself go... Perfection...
It's a pity that this song is so short! If this song ran for 20 minutes or even 10 minutes (as is the case with their songs "Brothers of Darkness, Sons of Light" and "Hosiana Mantra" in the album TANTRIC SONGS), then I'd develop a strong feeling of bliss or peace. I wish their 3-minute song "Angel in the Air: Part II" on TANTRIC SONGS was longer as well.
Nevertheless, thanks a lot for this nice song and for exposing Popol Vuh to a wide range of listeners on the Internet.
Here we are! I LOVE Popol Vuh and i can undersandt your situation! I'm 17,a Krautrockfan and like sophisticating, good films, like Fatih Akin and so far...I want to see Fitzcarraldo! I'm so sad, that a haven't a change yet,to see a herzog movie with music from Popol VUh and Kinski..:( Morgengruß II is one of my absolutly favorite Songs of Popol Vuh! Do you know "oh wie weit ist der weg hinauf" ?
you haven't lived if you haven't seen a Popol Vuh/Kinski/Herzog film. I'd either recommend Aguirre or Fitcaraldo (the latter has the better soundtrack, ish) as Nosferatu isn't THAT good and I don't know about Cobra Verde.
I am a fan of Herzog as well, and I have seen many of his films in German and in English, and I must respectfully disagree with the comment about Nosferatu. I would rate it as one of his finest films, although all four you mentioned are excellent. Popul Vu's music accents the dark, creepy scenes in that film perfectly. Cobra Verde is not bad at all, but I would put it as number four on the list for those who are new to the whole Popul Vuh/Kinski/Kerzog thing.
This song is amazing. Some of Popol Vuh's songs just trigger some deep chord inside you the instant they begin. I am in love with Werner Herzog's films, but the earlier ones with Popul Vuh are magic. This song makes the hair stand up on my arms. PS Please tell me where this great footage came from. I would just love to download it.
beautiful post, thank you!

My, my....
If the world were a fair place this music would be everywhere...
It's sad that 99% of humans are intellectually worthless, they are the cancer,
and if you like Herzog as a teen you become a loner...
Where are we?

As I allready stated in the information, it was created by two american artist who call themselves "Universoulightforms".
You'll find them very quickly.
The footage is from their website and can be downloaded there.
But you can buy DVDs, too. These guys got a lot of treasures in their stash. :)
