  • Good to see the Chinese have a healthy sense of humor.

  • i;m tired of hearing france has the best health care . it thats ture ALL OF YOU FOOLS WHO BELEAVE THAT mmmove there and never return to america!

  • Happy Anniversary! It's your crisis now... own it.

  • If we look at all the developed countries in Europe, almost all have a government option. Our current healthcare is ranked 37th. 37th!!! thats terrible! We need reform, and that reform will come in a government plan. Sure, we have some of the best doctors, but is it good when only 5% of the population can afford them?

  • Think the point of this video was that Maybe if we as Americans got off our Fat asses we wouldn't be getting so many preventable diseases.. yah know.. like Diabetes.. stats work great 37th is bad sure, but its only a reflection of our daily habits.. we also lead in diseases like Heart disease, Obesity, and Premature Birth.. which causes our "37th" place seem about right.. and no.. Doctors cant fix Fat without effort from the patients..

  • Yeah, I agree, but things like physical injuries, cancer, genetic disorders, they need to be covered. In Europe, a doctor tries to get his patients healthy and tries to get them to change their lifestyle. Same thing applicable here

  • Obamacare: Buy insurance or go to jail!

Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it "Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold."

The note was a follow-up to John Ensign's questioning at the markup.

Let's see how the Obammunists "spin" this. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200, go directly to jail! And the president is looking out for us?

They're gonna need a bigger jail.

  • @hellotommy

The Mandate exist, because the healthcare legislations disallows insurance companies from rejecting you based upon preexisting conditions. Without the mandate, this would mean everyone would wait until they were sick to buy insurance, completely ruining the insurance business model of a risk pool By making sure everyone has insurance, it brings healthy people into the system, creating funds by which to treat the sick.

  • @Psychochaos3

Gotta love a health care reform that required hiring 16,500 new IRS agents. What could possibly go wrong?

  • I'm sorry the US probably has the worst healthcare system in the developed world. Often people from poorer communities have to drive for miles so that they can queue for hours just so that they can get simple drugs for free. This situation is not uncommon in somalia or congo so why is it the same in the USA?

  • I need to ask where you got this information about Americans driving for miles then standing in lines for hours to get free prescriptions. Never once have I seen that happen. An Rx is called in by a doctor, the pharmacy fills it (many times within 20 to 30 min) the customer goes to his or her local drug store or supermarket pharmacy and picks up the medication then checkout. Many antibiotics are free at some pharmacies..others have a $10 to $20copay under insurance. Where are these lines??

  • the times ran an article on it occuring in chicago and los angeles as people from the suburbs waited in their cars for hours to get their hands on free prescriptions (since usually they have to pay). Most americans dont know or care that this occurs since why should they if they are fine themselves. You may be right but sadly you have to find the story on a non-american news program since the American media treat the issue poorly. I also read about it on a canadian news website. Look it up!

  • The US has the best health-care in the world, best modern treatments in medicine and surgeries. Canada's HC system is on the verge of "imploding". The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this countrys health-care system is sick. Canada is in the process of switching back to Private Care.

File under: ObamaCare of the Future.

    *sigh*

Might I point out Americans live recklessly over eating, drinking and living large. That is why American die young. Heart attacks etc.

  • France has the best health care in the world, actually. They live the longest, have the best recovery rates, and the highest infant survival rate. The US is 37th in the world, after some 3rd world countries. A baby born is Saudi Arabia is more likely to survive it's first year of life than a US baby.

As for Canada, they are not switching to a private system, nor will they ever. Less than 2% of Canadians want a system as broken as ours.

Try watching less Faux News and more real news.

  • The US has the 37th best healthcare in the world. France, which has a government option, has the best, buddy...

  • lol soooo funny

  • might i point out that the U.S. came in last for numbers of preventable deaths well Canada came in sixth and the us has among the lowest life expectancy of all the industrialized nations

  • As hellotommy correctly pointed out some Americans die at an early age due to how they live their lives here. No ammount of healthcare (govt run or private) can prevent death if a person drinks, smokes or eats far too much. It is up to the individual to take care of him or herself. The body is like a machine..take care of it and it may run well and last longer...neglect it or abuse it and it will fall apart and eventually break down.

  • cool.

  • lol

  • LOL!

    funny!
