  • A 52inch plasma does not cost anywhere $3000. Try half!!!!!!

  • I disagree maxohpne. The way projectors are made now the quality is very good!! As for a plasma for $3000 ?? That is good but I got a projector package deal from an online retailer for much less. I got a panasonic PT AX 200U with a 100" screen with component and hdmi cables and a mount for less than $1300. The picture is outstanding !!! So go spend your 3 grand on only your ( TV )

  • An other problem I didn't mention is a projector need to be in the dark if you want a clear image, a tv doesn't need it. But after seeing a lot of video of home theater with projectors, I'm wondering if i want one or not. but i'd need a close and dark room for one. It is sure I'll buy a tv before a projector and a screen and for me the audio is so much more important than the video in a home theater, I'd get a good receiver and high end speakers before the big screen and maybe before the hdtv

  • I do agree you need a separate dark room to fully enjoy a projector. I do have an extra room that is separate and can have the door closed to create a dark closed area. Another thing we agree with is about audio. An audio system can make the movie experience bland or great no matter how large and clear the picture is. A weak surround system will kill any movie. The two most important speakers are the center channel and the sub woofer. Get good quality from these two and you will be blown away!!

  • My HD Projector has diff settings so I can watch mine in the day light. And another for pitch black room. and a gaming setting and a theater setting and dynamic also for lite rooms IT ALL DEPENDS.

  • I second that! I purchased the same Panasonic projector and I'm AMAZED at the picture quality! Have a Bluray player (with HDMI cable), but even standard DVDs look excellent good on it!

  • dont talk if you dont know your shit

  • haha worst comment of the year. you obviously have not seen a projector in person. projectors have way better quality than a tv could ever have, all this in a huge picture.

  • @maxohpne ha no you're wrong. projectors have the same quality as a plasma. you can get a 1080p projector for about $1500 or so now and you can have the picture quality but on a 100+in. screen

  • Wow,that looks great. I'm looking at the Epson Home Cinema 1080UB or the VPL-VW60. I have to say though that looks really awesome for 720p.

  • awesome! i have the HD70 Optoma, i love it so much! :D

  • There is hardly anything between 720p and 1080p, read up on it dont get suckered in by fake advertising.

  • shut up XD

  • ohhhhh I beg to differ ..... I got both 720 and 1080 projectors and there is quite a big of difference both on resolution and contrast but more than anything you get way better sense of depth to the image and better color saturation.. I used to be like you till I got around buying a 1080p projector sure its not as big of a difference when compared to say a 480p to 720p projectors because well you went from standard to HD but from 720 to 1080 there sure is a big quality jump ;)

  • his that projector HD?

  • No, it's only ED (853x480)

  • no HD like the prev poster said, but keep in mind it has one hell of a scaler(made by pixelworks) for stunning HD reproduction! I have this unit and it's stunning. I've been watching the stanley cup & NBA finals with it and it looks damn good. I sit about 16ft back and project on a 108 inch screen. It's like watching it on 4-52inch lcd/plasma screens! Movies look damn good on it w/my OPPO dvd player. Once the bulb dies i will upgrade to either a PannyPT-AX200 or the Epson Home Cinema 720.

  • The H31 is native 16:9.

  • is the screen masked or is it an anamorphic lense added?

  • The H31 is native widescreen.

  • netti netti, indeed.
