To make this more difficult you can drill a couple of holes in the side of the tire either next to one another or above/below one another with an inch or two between them and then feed a lengthy bike cable lock through the hole. Then just attach your pulling chain or straps or whatever you use to the bike lock. This way, more of the tire is in contact with the ground, creating greater resistance.
Mine is a little different that Max's above. I put an eye bolt in the tire so I don't have to wrap the chain around. Anyways, I got my chain from Home Depot and the handles from ebay for around $10. If you go with the eye bold, you can use tow straps with looped ends so you don't need handles (like shown in my other videos) - Joe
@jhashey I made on as well with an eye bolt...and two cheap dog leases from Wal-mart...cheaper than the chain then having to buy the handles. As long as you get dog leashes for large dogs..unless you're putting a stupid amount of weight on that tire, they will work just fine.
@cgc Great call on the dog leashes - never seen that before. I've tried deer harnesses, but they broke on day one. I'll have to look into that - thanks for sharing and checking it out!
@jhashey Hey, I used the eye bolt like cgc said. It is better b/c when you drag you drag the whole tire instead of just the second half b/c the chain keeps the whole tire from contacting the ground. All you do is drill a whole in the tire and a piece of 1x4 wood. Screw the eye bolt into the tire then the wood on the other side. The wood will keep the bolt from ripping through .
@fattymattie360 Agreed, thanks! I put method that out in a seperate video - "sled recovery techniques." I got it from a friend and it works wonders (plus doesn't eat up your chain) Thanks for posting it!
awsome vid...I tried the same thing with a rope and after some time the rope got eaten up to much..next time will definetly use the chains, thanks brah !!
you could turn it into a sled for snow!

@jhashey yeah, as long as you don't pick up "rat dog" leashes and they have good clasps you should be solid.
On a side note - I like the tire sleds better than the metal ones also for the fact that the rubber creates more friction making it harder to pull.

@theboxer037 sometimes. In a video earlier I explained the method of using an eye bolt. that does not leave a mark! Thanks
