Nope, the version I'm remembering is not in the Mifune movie. I just watched it on IFC. I think the one I'm thinking of, where he puts the fly on the knife handle, might have been in the 1984 television series. It would be interesting to see how each of the many filmed versions of the story of MM dealt with this scene. It's such a great scene.

As I recall the scene, the thug threw a knife down which stuck in the floor in front of MM, and then MM caught a fly with the chopsticks and put the fly on the tip of the knife handle. Was that in the Toshiro Mifune version? I thought it was more effective.
