the biggest problem is how he treated his existence with the Buffalo Springfield.he thought he was just to "Artsy" for there mundane rock.this guy is one of the smartest people on the planet.he has been playing the game for 40 years and actually made some of the best music ever.he just never made a commitment to anything.he's a Canadian making his career in the USA.he's also a native american.i just can't help but love him.
My point is that it is easy to say that selling records is not a big deal.. after selling so many records as he did. It´s not about the money, it´s about the truth..
a little bit cliché though.. If he didn't sell so much records..got appreciated by the audience (over the ocean, that can not visit his concerts) .. he wasn't that famous.. he could not fill the seats in a concert hall..

His fan base has grown because of HIM, not chart hits or marketing assaults or fake hype. He was in a weird place in 1986. But it's healthy to sound-off on TV after 10,000 hours of horseshit. He made a lot of money.. could afford beautiful houses, studios, an airplane, drugs..But You might have a point that he is not interested in money and business in the first place..They're just tools.. to make a living and make music!
