@21wf What happened is the Dems brought the bill, which was drafted by both Dems and Repubs, to the floor under a set of rules which does not allow amendments. Since amendments are not allowed it would require a 2/3 majority to pass. 94% of Dems voted in favor of the bill, but only 11 Repubs voted for it. If the bill allowed amendments, as King (R) says in this interview, it would not get passed before the recess or campaign season (A.K.A. THIS YEAR). Basically Repubs know people don't get it.

The Republicans want the media to pick up on the notion of a special rule. Kinda like they did with "reconciliation" during healthcare reform. Cause Hannity's opinion comes from such a depth of intelligence and scholastic aptitude. A college dropout and bar tending are a great foundation for understanding complex congressional decisions and their sociological implications. Rather than being objective he just yells louder. Wiener is mad because the bill that the republicans shot down would grant 9/11 rescue workers health benefits. I fail to see any reason for legislative process to get in the way of that.

@21wf What happened is the Dems brought the bill, which was drafted by both Dems and Repubs, to the floor under a set of rules which does not allow amendments. Since amendments are not allowed it would require a 2/3 majority to pass. 94% of Dems voted in favor of the bill, but only 11 Repubs voted for it. If the bill allowed amendments, as King (R) says in this interview, it would not get passed before the recess or campaign season (A.K.A. THIS YEAR). Basically Repubs know people don't get it.

The Republicans want the media to pick up on the notion of a special rule. Kinda like they did with "reconciliation" during healthcare reform.
