Zeyshaan thanks so much for this post. Your love of the game is obvious. There is so little good footage of Jahangir on Youtube. Could you possibly upload some highlights? (Hopefully without music)
"Jahangir had astonishing genetic advantages that all came together with an immense self-discipline and a tunnel vision attitude. There's never been a better player."
- Jonah Barrington (6 times British Open Champion)
Thank you Zeeshaan for the great videos and paying tribute to someone who really deserves him. I feel we as a nation haven't done justice to his greatness.
Jahangir Khan is the pride of our Nation. No player in history and in any field of game has ever bought so much to one's Nation. He is the ultimate King of Squash. May Almighty give us back those days of Jahangir and Jansher.
You know everyone says how amazing he was it's because he was practically handed it on a plate as he had rahmat as a coach and went full time pro at 14!!!
My dad would never let me do that lol
anyway he is really a great player and had great dedictaion
U know u need to use some critical thinking, before u start imposing ur opinion on everyone who reads such remarks... First n foremost, Jahangir had to go through two hernia operations before he even registered on the pro scene, secondly, nothing was handed to him on a plate because his hernia operations made his family very apprehensive about him competing so he had to rebel against them to even let him play... and lastly if Rehmat was really all that great then why hasn't he produced...
a player like jahangir ever since jahangir retired... it's not like he's not coaching anymore... so think twice before trying to belittle some legend's achievements next time and dont try to end negative remarks with conssolatory statements like 'anyways he is really a great player'. Hope I have made my point and let me remind u that I don't tolerate BS on my videos....
Zeyshaan - I'm honored to have been included in your vide with the quote, "he's hard to play and impossible to beat", but did I really say that?! - Hunt
Hi Hunt, First of all thanx for all the vids u sent my way and secondly, Yes I do believe u said that as I picked it up from a squash article comparing Jahangir n Jansher and u were one of the debaters there along with Robert Graham I beleieve and one other guy I can't recall, so I used that quote.... Let me know if I am wrong here
Excellent tribute to the greatest player to ever grace a squash court! What an amazing backhand he has! I'm a big fan of your videos zeyshaan, thank you, and keep it up.
I have full videos, and myself have made these clips, posting full matches comes under copyright infringment, if u r willing to come up with millions of dollars in legal penalties, then I am willing to post those videos for u... wat say?
Thanx and I have just uploaded another video that involves Jahangir, make sure u check that out as well. Thanx for writing in with ur positive feedback
Thank you Z for posting this video - you have done an excellent job. I am a big fan of Jahangir and could never find any video footage of him on the net. You have done a brilliant job. Keep it up!
Another great video Z, you're getting better and better at this. I always thought you were purely a Jansher fan and its great to see you pay tribute to another great Pakistani. My coach (former top 40) played Jahangir in the early 90's and told me he had a knack for anticipating and taking the ball early which absolutely exhausted his opponents. Another overlooked fact was that Jahangir's sportsmanship was unquestioned and he always called his balls down and never fished for lets.Great video!
Thanx for appreciating and yes practice does make perfect (hence I am getting better at this I guess). But I never overlooked such a huge contribution to the game of squash like that of Jahangir's. In fact in one of my comments on my earlier videos, I actually mentioned that I am trying to gather footage of Jahangir to make a video of him, not that I was overlooking anyone. Personally Jansher still remains my idol cuz I've learned everything I know by watching him. Thanx for ur +ive feedback...
Can't thank you enough for uploading this video. I've been searching youtube for a long time for Jehangir Khan's games, but surprisingly nothing existed here. You are doing a great service to the legend of Jehangir Khan and of his father. Jehangir was ignored by Pakistan's state TV, none of the British or World Open's he won were telecast live. And Roshan saheb was a fine gentleman and a great sportsman. He used to teach us squash at the Fleet club. May he rest in peace. Thanks again.
U r most welcome. It is my pleasure indeed to create and post such videos, they have done enough for their country, I can do at least this much for such legends.... thanx for commenting
well done zeeshaan u have done a great work to put that vedio on youtube
No dout that he was a killer in the court the way he playes its unbeliveable.
Even im from the the JAHAN family my name is Obaid jahan you may know my brothers Hiddy jahan, Zarak jahan, Zubair jahan and im also a squash player and i played with jansher khan last year in LONDON OPEN and he is the best as well thats all i can say and welldone thank you
Yeah I know of ur brothers, Hiddy Jahan ofcourse is a legend in his own right, having competed with Jahangir in the 1983 British Open final even and many more I am sure. I also saw ur video against Jansher and yes Jansher is the best. These people are absolute legends of the sport and I am only happy that I can put their stuff up here, it's a lot of work but it's worth it to see that their game and style of play is getting recognition. Thanx for commenting. Cheers
Well, another masterpiece from the great Zeeshaan! As always, fantastic job done on the editing, it must have been quite difficult to get the music & video properly synchronised. This particular video was much needed since there was no proper video on Jahangir before, but the good news is: now there is one and it will go a long way in generating the awareness & acknowledgment this great legend deserves; all thanks to you Zeeshaan, keep up the good work! Peace.
Thanx Riz for praising me to the skys but the only people worthy of such praise are in these videos but I sincerely appreciate ur wonderful feedback and thanx for adding ur comment to the video. Cheers
