Atheists are also one of the few groups that are allowably, and even encouraged to be discriminated against in America. I'm an atheist and my one rule in life is to show respect to people. @whiskeycompany13 But by definition that's incorrect. Part of what defines religion is its public/social aspect, and along with that comes its churches, organized gatherings, business-like incomes and ceremonies. Atheism only counters religion and doesn't act like an organization like Christianity, Scientology etc. Every Atheist seems to also have a slightly varied theory as to how this universe was created. They except that there is no evidence and choose not to make one up.
@whiskeycompany13 They're both similar. Atheists follow what science has proved so far and pursue a more natural explanation about the universe's existence. Agnostics believe that because the universe isn't fully known to man, the possibility of a creator is the same as the possibility of no creator. Agnostics, like atheists, realize that everything written in the bible has no true evidence, ultimately contradicting what science has been discovering for hundreds of years after it was written.

If some are so immature as to show their hate on other beliefs, not much can be done. However statistically, religious groups do show more hate towards atheists/agnostics. It never just ends. I feel that the best we can do is to teach the next generation about modern logic and understanding instead of archaic stories

Some people really believe Adam and Eve was a true story. Some believe it only teaches morals, fine, but definitely not the best way to do so as it's rather sexist to begin with. Read this very carefully: Atheism isn't a belief that states "There is no God," but rather a concept that questions God's existence. BIG difference. And therefore isn't a religion. Part of what defines religion is its public/social aspect, and along with that comes its churches, organized gatherings, business-like incomes and ceremonies. Atheism only counters religion and doesn't act like an organization like Christianity, Scientology etc. Every Atheist seems to also have a slightly varied theory as to how this universe was created. They except that there is no evidence and choose not to make one up.

Agnostics believe that because the universe isn't fully known to man, the possibility of a creator is the same as the possibility of no creator. Agnostics, like atheists, realize that everything written in the bible has no true evidence, ultimately contradicting what science has been discovering for hundreds of years after it was written.

If some are so immature as to show their hate on other beliefs, not much can be done. However statistically, religious groups do show more hate towards atheists/agnostics. It never just ends. I feel that the best we can do is to teach the next generation about modern logic and understanding instead of archaic stories

Wars are about money & resources. Religion is used to motivate the poor to do the killing and dying but those who instigate the conflict are concerned about money or resources.
The Jews were the victims of not the cause of WW2 and concern for their plight is NOT what motivated Allied Forces into the war. If Hitler had kept his holocaust at home I have no doubt the world would've continued to turn a blind eye.

@klfly Making the same arguments that hundreds of other atheists make on a daily basis in front of a crowd doesn't count as comedy. The point is to be witty, or satirical, or maybe having a few punchlines here or there. The fact that you even took the death threats seriously just shows how unfunny you really are.

@HardforJesus You think death threats are funny? I do always report them to youtube, like klfly (for all the good that does), but not because I think it likely people will come after me. Being killed by a religious nut is in my case much more likely to be in a bombing of the Munich underground ...I just think those making such threats are either dangerous or people who do not think. I once witnessed them having a go against a thirteen year old and they can be very intimidating for young people.

@HardforJesus: You may be right that in most cases those who issue them are bored teenagers. But thats what I meant with "people who do not think" - or are not capable of feeling empathy. 99,99 % are not "serious". But who gets a kick when telling others they will kill them or - as they often do - offering detailed descriptions of the process? Maybe the same kind of person who tortures small animals or bullys others at school/ work? Thats nothing I laugh about, it is very sad and disturbing.

@Nalae1978 I understand a normal person should respond to death threats with some kind of contempt or maybe even fear, but good comedians are often cynical and know how to laugh it off or insult the ones threatening them. Not act like pussies who take everything too seriously.
