Obama should never have accepted the Nobel prize. By doing so he has cheapened it as he was awarded it for what amounts to a couple of pretty speeches. That man must have a giant ego, which I guess is business as usual for a president of the united states of etc.
Sadly, even though the BNP got LESS votes this time around than the last election, they still managed to get into the Euro. Parliament. Too many people didn't vote at all. Their non-votes translated into a pro-vote for the BNP. Our right to vote is precious. The moment we take it for granted we start to lose it. Please let's stop apathy becoming a back door for extremism.
i live in vienna - the saddest thing is, that the most right wing party split a few yrs ago to form TWO of the rightwing f*ckers AND they're the third biggest party here; to really put the cherry on the cake though, the people roped in to vote for them are the same they want to get rid off!!!
I'm too overwhelmed and ashamed by this to stay in Austria at all. What do you do against THAT??

I think the most valuable thing you can do is redress the balance by ensuring that your own political voice is always heard so that there's not an assumption that everyone is of the same mind as the parties you mention. It's important that people who disagree with them can see they're not alone in that and also that the politicians see it to! Stand your ground; It's very unlikely you're the only one who doesn't support aggressive right wing policies.
@TheTubeMouse VERY true and i hate the bnp... but factually speaking, they got more votes overall (950,000) on 2004 (850,000) but in the specific seat they one they got less... we can't pretend that the BNP dont have growing support, cos that makes them dangerous
