I was enlisted and I agree 100% about your assessment of the direct impingement weapon system. I carried the m16/M4 into combat and found it to be too unreliable no matter how well I maintained it. I prefer a piston system, like most of the worlds militaries do, over DI. Best, Griff

I would take my Sig 556 SWAT Classic, 226 Navy or 228R over a Ruger semi auto anything any day of the week. In fact, I wouldn't accept a free Ruger 556 to throw at my ex-wife. Both rifles tend to be muzzle heavy, but you can put a lighter plastic classic stock on the Sig 556 and a folder. After carrying an M16/M4 in the Marine Corps infantry and on SWAT I can tell you I'd take my chances with a Sig that might have problems over a M4 that WILL have problems.

This kid has got the guts to handle a heavy Sig 556 and give it his best shot in front of God and everybody. My hat is off to him. LOL! That would be the Sig 556 as Sig also makes M4's dude, the 516 and M400. The 516 has a piston system as well. Just type sig 516 torture test here on youtube.
