"What?! But the briefing said to--"
"Doesn't matter. Orders are orders. Shoot to kill. Security detail is expendable.
"Take that bastard down. He thought we'd forgive him for Baltimore because he fibbed about those missiles."
this song makes me feel as if i'm in the vietnam war, wearing that suit soildiers wear, army crawling in the tall grass as huge ass helicopters hever over me, as i hear tanks in the distance shooting, while i'm being as quiet as a mouse.
@j1495bmx I imagine myself as an agent in the far east who got caught and has to escape in an action filled pursuit scene (no exaggeratedly long sprints to fill the scene's time please).
i just screamed ontop ofmylungs just how awesome it is and to end it off mylittle sster slap me in the face and shout "SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU SKINNY BASTARD!!"
Honestly, when I hear this I don't even think about anything with guns, but more of some kind of assassin with only throwing knives and a dagger, getting rid of about a hundred people in only 2 minutes.
Oh c'mon. This would compliment any video game's action sequences. Imo, the games have lost their touch in the cool inspiring music the more they try to copy the movies. In the old days it was "balls to the wall" -music what made your blood pump while you attempted some difficult part in the game. It helped you to focus.
Nowdays it's just some ambient crap that doesn't have any emotion playing over action scenes. Sucks.
I never had Atari. But you get your head out of your arse first. Mass Effect had some really insipring tunes, but it didn't really use them in combat. Combat music was mostly dull "futuristic" beats. It's a great game, no doubt, my favourite from last year. But as I said, when it comes to combat music, it lacks. Metro I have never played. Halo?... Well you are right about Halo, it does have nice inspiring and epic tunes on the background.
None the less, your statement was both insulting to the works of many people, in many games. It was generalized, and in all honesty made you sound like some "back in the old dayz we are be better" nostalgic whiner.
I apologize for attacking you, but my point still stands.
And yes, some of the newer games do have amazing soundtracks that get my blood pumping, like Devil May Cry series had it great for the combat bits. It's true that I find some of the 16-bit era music to be more memmorable and inspiring than game music these days. They try too much to sound like a movie, making the music maybe bit less epic than it could be. Again, this is just peference thing. :)
No disagreement needed at all. I fully understand you liking past better, as long as you are respectful of other people's works or likes.
Terra's theme for example, is my favorite song ever. No orchestra, band, whatever will ever replace those beeps, whistles, and that simple electronic beat that song has.
Yeah. What I really would want is those melodic tunes to make a comback to video games. They were something that played in my head (and still do) when I was playing those 16-bit consoles. I am all for movie-like musics, but I'd still like to hear some catchy epic tunes in video games. Ambient just doesn't do it for me. :)
Yeah, actualy got ODST (great soundtrack, I think it's better than Halo Reach, I like the athmosphere it has) and I love Metroid Prime's theme. Especialy Corruption's. :)
Metroid Prime's music is example of those quiet tunes I don't usualy like in video games. Buuuuuut, for Metroid series, this fits. Because Samus is alone and exploring the world, instead of going from fight to the fight. In game like this it really compliments the whole feel of the game. And I love those "whistling" parts too in the Prime soundtrack! :D
I once went outside by myself. It was freezing cold, and snow had covered everything. Listening to Phendrena Drifts while walking through that was something in itself.
@bspfan123 idk theirs 1 or 2 games that might be to epic for this.. but yeah cod sucks sense 4 and up. and halo sucked after 1. main stream games kinda blow.
@Redemptor777 they COULD but not on their own....they would say "men we finally made it" they'd listen to the music again and in their minds whistle and say "such a far way to go"
@178thbattlegroup - well, that's your prerogative. But TBH, I've been listening to music like this for a long time, and the fact that this one could still be used in an action sequence such as in Modern Warfare or something means it really stands out. If you think using it in a video game is degrading, then.....I'm not sure you really appreciate the artistic side of the things.
@Redemptor777 you could probably use this in a game, sure. but if it was put in that shit call of duty game it would explode. dont get me wrong i love cod 2 big red one and cod 3. but the rest suck balls. i dont know i guess i just like quality.
@178thbattlegroup - Well, I can't understand why you feel that way...but everyone has their preferences. I for one prefer modernistic/present day war games over many retro/WWII games, quite simply because there are FAR too many of the latter...and far too few good ones. I DO like WWII games, but not if they're poorly done. Having seen all of the CoD games, I'm still more impressed by less of the earlier ones than I am of the later ones.
@thebadguy2k6 You're pretty arrogant aren't you? The favela chase scene of the Hornets Nest mission. The part where you're running with no weapon while being shot at by numerous militia men. The music is very similar.
@MiddleFingerSaysHi I know what you said.....and you are dead wrong. The music isn't even similar unless you compare it Brittney Speares or the like. Not even close! @TheMoronLabs15 lol It does sound like that, but no. I think you're more so refering to the original MW - which was composed by Harry Gregson-Williams and his protoge/assistant/co-scorer Stephen Barton. :)
