Waverly Evans is probably related to me as my ancestors came from Smith Island and my last name is Evans.I used to work on the water with my dad in the 70's and 80's but chose to leave it because even back then i could see a decline!I loved it more than anything because i think its in my blood to be on the water!
At least one piece of information on this video is incorrect. Waverly Evans, my father, does not live in "a small, colorful shack he painted himself. That building is his crab shanty. He lives in a normal, two-story, cape cod style home. The same one he's lived in for more than 60 years.

@Marshbillie i agree. i live there during the summer and i'm going up today. and after being there for 5 years, i have taken a respect to there way of life. all the morons who don't care about these people can suck donkey balls because you are not taking into consideration that most of these people don't have medical insurance and some other stuff that everyone in the city has. if you have ever had crab cakes in maryland, those crabs mostly come from there!
