Well... Actually it began on Harvest, aaaaaand i really really really hated the games after Halo 3. Don't get me wrong, I was a die hard Halo fan. I still remember when my friends and I would connect our original xbox consoles via ethernet and play Halo: Combat Evolved. I think my love for the games ended when Bungie and Microsoft split, it just did't have the Halo feel. This is only my opinion.

When Halo Reach came out, it was the most exciting thing that ever happened. Everybody was excited when Halo Reach and Black Ops came out 2 months from each other. When Delivery hope came out, I pre-ordered it and stayed at the midnight arrival. The trailer is showing how Kat lost her arm to a Banshee bomb and how the Spartan who was Noble-Six before you sacrificed himself to complete the mission. I'm saying the people who made the trailer decided it was more important to give a solid connection to Reach in the video than stay 100% true to canon. I think it was the right choice.

It was a good advertising campaign. It was almost as good as the Halo 3 diarama and CGI. I loved it, but it's a shame that the multiplayer didn't live up to expectations.
