  • I don't get this gig at all, Liam sounds pretty good here.

Then on alot of the other songs it's one of his worst gigs.

Was his mic not loud enough so he had to shout and mess his voice up?

  • Liam is probably the only guy who can wear a fuckin' feathers coat without look like a jerk ! Class.

  • its just rock n rolllll

  • i was there and it was fucking amazing!!!as every other gig theyve other done!!!

  • This has been stated to be Oasis' worst gig ever. I thin you can blame Glastonbury...

  • This sounds good to me is it cuz im high

  • did they headline this?

  • @S2BRocker I would hope so!

  • @beatle608 ye me 2

  • Rubbish!

  • wtf the sound is shit.

louder ffs , i really hate this gig

  • Yes i have acutally you shit cunt

  • @broders8 Then maybe jsut maybe, you may realsie that sound quality in glasto isnt the dogs.....its not alwyas about the music its about the atmosphere, the love, the peace.......or were you too busy searching for tinchy strider you pop infect twat

  • This acutally sounds fucking awful! Glastonbury is a shit hole

  • @broders8 have you been there, cuntfeatures?

  • @Phatberry hahaha,funny as fuck lol!

  • glastonbury have got the whole "oasis" sound wrong... guitars arnt loud enough.

  • @adam4592 you so right, i saw them live in liverpool and it was so much well set up than this. they still fuckin rocked though!!!

  • Liam was shite this night..... As he said he could'nt give a flying fuck about Glastonbury....

  • yea they say that about Liam but this sounds mega to me and all the other glasto vids Liam sounds pretty good, i just dont think oasis are a festival band theyve never came across well at festivals, probz cos they dont do much on stage and there songs are about escaping where you are when at festivals you have escaped where you are, fuk knows

  • zak's a million times better than alan white ever was. like noel said, zaks the best drummer in england

  • Listen Alan White at Maine Road 96 and compare to this....no fuckin chance!alan best drummer of Oasis! and Sharrock still great!

  • alright then, watch oasis at city of manchester 2005, my generation and rock n roll star. Thats zak at his best.

  • There and Then. Champagne Supernova at Earls Court. Alan White is a heroic drummer

  • Alan was better.Way better.

  • @cambruoso no offence geezer, but zak is far more mature and I like his sound more. although it always depends on your preference.

  • No offence miscreant. What does age have to do with talent and skill.Zak is very basic in his percussive skills. And Alan is way beyond Zak skillfully.Zak has relied on his fathers fame to get his gigs.I know it's harsh and blunt. But it's the truth.

  • talent is only 10% of success, the rest is just hard work. every musician knows that. skill comes with practice but also with experience. Zak may not the the technically superior drummer all around, but come on, Alan also never was.

If you like Alan more, it's only the matter of your personal preference. I like Zak more because his timing, sound and feel touches me moch more than Alan's .

  • You really think so?I think talent and skill is about 50%,of what makes a good drummer. And distinctive signature sound is about 40%.But you can put those together because Alan had enough talent and skill and made his drumming stand out and gave the band that powerful rhythm to carry the songs. And maybe throw in 10% for personality.

  • @cambruoso yeah, that sounds also like a good approach. it's always the matter of preference, some bands need sloppy drummers who have more energy, some bands need laidback dudes who play everything like having it in their pockets. Alan was the soul, now it's like having just someone to play the drums and do the gig.

  • gotta say zak starkey is showing what he can really do now he is with the who, great song tho

  • @topgunpete No offense, but I don't dig him with Oasis. He slows songs down too much and he doesn't come close to having the energy of past Oasis drummers.

  • gem and andy just be there no more

noel and liam true rock stars ever! I hope they'll join again

  • liam looks strange, and sings better than anyone in rock

Noel is brilliant, in an understated part

Jem and Andy are doing what they (and all Oasis bass/rythum guys do)-- just stand there and play

Zak's drums speak for him-- especially the intro

Very few groups have gotten audiences as involved as these guys.

  • Jem?

    No mate, it's Gem...and it's pronounced how it's spelt.

  • So right, my fault. Typing, spelling not my strong suits.

  • just all needs to be turned up abit for us to hear the crowd, then it'll be rocking!!!

  • liam looks immense

noel is still there at the end

jem and andy don't make a performance

if zak didnt want to be there then why the fuck would he bother

good performance of a proper song

  • zack give a slow beat on this version.. but he is a fuck'n good drummer mate..

  • liam does look a twat here to be fair

  • all good fings come to an end ! he is a rock n roll star !

  • r.i.p. oasis

  • meh, the crowd seems dead compared to some of Oasis' other live vids...

  • epic performance... simply mint

  • wow.. man i love oasis.. Look at liams coat.. cool as fuck! BRITISH MUSIC IS THE BEST!!!!!!

  • ZAK we miss you!

  • It was a wierd set by them that night but this was by far their best song of the night.

  • no, zac Starkey

  • *ZAK

  • this white coat with the light show is a great frontman-outfit, especially with liam.yeah. oasisforever.

  • I have decided after careful consideration and just to piss off the knobhead who judged my choice of funeral song earlier. I will have Rock n roll star, also Song2 Blur, Proud Mary Tina Turner, Cigarettes and Alchohol, Anarchy in the Uk The Sex Pistols. Somber enough for you fuckin dimwit!!!!!

  • EPIC..............

  • Dont go away isn't the new single though

  • liam looks a bit like george micheal here

  • when i die im gunna have em play dont do away or cast no shadow

  • yea there new single "dont do away" is amazing :L

  • WTF?

  • i replied o paigy93

  • yeh dont do away the new single is great!!!

  • rock n roll star , or roll with it? discuss

  • rock n roll star no question.

  • Hahaha

  • Top tune. I love the passion Liam puts in to this performance.

  • I just can't imagine such an energetic song at a funeral, while the family is definitely (maybe?) sad.You can find some appropriate song that also shows what you loved, but that's my opinion..

  • Yeah. You are right. It is YOUR opinion. Definatley (maybe) not mine. Okay. Nice chattin wi ya.

  • As Liam would say "Fuck off!!!!"

  • hahaha! yeah!

  • I'm gonna have this song at my fucking funeral. AMAZING!!!!!!

  • This song rules, but what a fucking inappropriate music for a funeral. How can people be so stupid, seriously..

  • I think it's down to the personal choice of the individual that's actually died. If you were going to die then surely you would want a song to see you out, that you out that you actually enjoy. Why the hell am I defending myself to you. Lighten up. It's a free country

  • How About a inappropriate tune then at a funeral , Live Forever ;)

  • Zak is amazing! this show was historic!

  • one of the best bands ever .. love OAsis

  • this is why they don't like playing festivals - fucking shit sound.

airy fields with not enough speakers may suit keane and doves but eavis & co haven't got a clue about rock n roll.

get on the magic bus for heaton park.

  • really cant wait till june 7th

    :)

  • Heaton Park????

  • yeaahhhh :)

  • i love liams swagger wen hes singing it iz amazin he iz a god lyk

  • How good is his voice hear !! every song sounds amazin apart from stop crying your heart out which was still awryt !!!!!

  • SCYHO is kind of rough song to sing

  • liams voice sounds fine here, why did it so dramatically fall in 2005?

  • extensive turing here was their first performance in 2004 so Liam's voise is still awesome just look at Torronto in 2008 it's awesome i think it's Torronto or sumthin well just look it up

  • thank you!!! im not the only one who has a least bit of sense lol everyone sez that his voice is dying! but...its called extended, consecutive tours!!!!!!!!! keep keepin' on mate!!!

  • Cigarettes and Alcohol...... probably thats why lol.... check out Rock n Roll Star live at "Standing on The Edge of the Noise".... 2008 pretour.... best iv heard him in years....

  • noel said that he hates doing glasto cause the sound off the pyramid stage is shit, i dont blame him.

oasis sound fine but if you were standing right at the very back, you'd hear fuck all.

    they should sort it really.

  • 1. the beatles

    2.oasis

    3. all others

  • I disagree, for me it's:

    1, Oasis

    2. Fuck all others.

  • fucking yeah!

  • @jimmyquidd ... Oasis is a good band but they are almost like a Beatles cover band ... who dont do Beatles songs

  • @sweetfly66 That is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard anyone say, about anything!

Oasis are amazing, none of their songs sound like The Beatles (however they cover The Beatles better than anyone else), their music is more exciting, and musically, much better.

If Oasis had been around in the 60's, you wouldn't have heard of The Beatles...fact.

  • @PadC93 .... hahaha .... you must be joking ...please tell me you are joking .... you actually think that john and paul ... the most gifted successful pop musicians in history would have been overtaken by Oasis .... Listen you moron ... check their chord progressions ..they are ALL beatles progressions ...and if you know anything about the beatles than you know that literally EVERY Oasis song has a beatles reference in it ..

  • @sweetfly66 .... in three hundred years people will look back on John and Paul the same way we now look back on Beethoven and Mozart .... Oasis , as good a band as they are , will not be talked about in 50 years , never mind 300 years .... and how can you say none of Oasis songs sounds like the Beatles ...are you fucking deaf or just stupid .. .my god , unbelievable

  • @sweetfly66 WOAH! The only similar chord progression that springs to mind is the intro to Don't look back in anger! I am not denying McCartney and Lennon were gifted, but think of it, they were the only band around, they were the first which is why they are considered so great. Could you imagine if Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Jam, or any other great bands of the 70's/80's somehow swapped places with the Beatles? The Beatles would have been nowhere near what they are though of today....

  • @PadC93 300 years, seriously? My point is, The Beatles are so great because they were the first. Oasis have inspired a generation, who will tell the next generation, who will tell the next, (see a similar pattern here with The Beatles?), One, maybe two songs of Oasis sound as if they could have been done by the Beatles, Champagne Supernova, Shakermaker, and maybe Let There Be Love. Listen, I am not saying The Beatles are not a great band, i'm just saying, in my opinion, Oasis are better.

  • @PadC93 .... The Beatles were not really " the first " ... Bill Haley , Chuck Berry , and Elvis Presley were the first ... there was a whole generation of rock before the beatles ... they were hardly the first ... but make no mistake about they were , are , and always will be the best ... Oasis is a really good modern rock band , they are worldwide rock stars but thats where it ends ... they are a speck left in the Beatles dust ... i think they would agree

  • @jimmyquidd What this guy said. Spot on

  • zak is god

  • where can i get liams jacket?

  • marks and spencers

  • you gotta love andy's bass

  • "Thank you good night" after the 1st song hahaha!!

  • nice try but this was last song back in 2004

  • Eeeerrr no it wasn't! My Generation was x

  • errmm no, Glastonbury 2004 they opened with this baby xxx

  • loll

  • was first song.

  • YEAHYWEAH.. OK! thats good!!

  • The hand gesture Liam makes at 1:13 was because he didn't want to be there that night. This version is played a little too slow for my taste...

  • its becuase he is calling someone down the front a puff, he did it live in birmingham

  • its his Sid Vicious thing going on 1.13

"...so i face the final curtain" ha ha cool

  • MCRmartyn

    you're shit crack you son

  • haha yeh i know, im kidding! im just winding itindall up. he knows its a joke dont worry. actualy one off my best mates god father is in The Hours who are supporting them in Dublin (i think) so hes got free backstage passes! pretty cool! itindall is going with him!

  • C S!

  • yes u are a CS! mr itindall if that is your real name!!

  • with a name like 'MCR' maryn i choose to ignore that comment you emo ;) haha

  • where is noel's vocal? too faint? your watching a video on youtube with internet sound quality, of course its gonna be 'faint' try listning to this on the TV with a decent set of speakers or better yet, go to a gig. get a grip.

  • my chemical romance ever played to 250,000 people ?

    didnt think so

  • @NickMccabeIsGod spot on my son

  • liam is really good here....

  • Where is noel's vocal. Too faint. Been better with the harmony.

  • his coat is wkkd

  • Amazing song, amazing band. We ere all right at the front for this gig and saw the great Paul McCartney from the same position the next night. I remember the feeling of awe when Oasis arrived on stage. They ARE in the league of The Who and Led Zep. They are lovely guys aswell.. really tell it like how it is.

Oh and by the way, when you watch this stunning intro then compare it the the dreadful pile of crap that is Jay-Z... well, need I say more? He might have been funny if he could play.

  • does liam say thankyou good night at the end??

  • yeah he's joking because they often end the set with this song

  • Quility!

    Oasis will live forever :-)

  • sunshiiiiiinnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeee, fuckin classic, love it!

  • cannot fucking wait for them to tour again watched the kaizers and some of the other bands last night at v festival not in the same fucking league as oasis

  • i like this as an opening song more

  • i didnt get why they started with rock n roll star, they usually end with it

  • I prefer this as an opening song, it kinda represents how their career started, and how they are Rock N roll stars, and it leads to their classic songs. This was the first Oasis song, if you go in order of songs in their albums. So it kinda is a cool leadoff song. When i hear it, I think about how they must have felt when they were given their record deal.

  • I know that hurts you, but it's the truth.

if the Beatles continue creating music to this day

    Today the Beatles singing:

Wonderwall, Hello, Listen Up, Whatever, Don't look back in anger, Morning Glory, Live Forever ......... every songs of oasis

OASIS - DON'T COPY to the Beatles

OASIS improvement and evolve the music of the Beatles

OASIS THE BEST BAND THE HISTORY

  • I think liam sounds fucking amazing here!

It's only SCYHO where he sounds truly appalling

  • best band everrrr.

  • i think glastonbury 04 wasnt a great oasis performance, but this version of rock n roll star is awesome
