  • that shit won't work in a street fight that shit will get you killed.

  • @wayne2010games you don''t know what your talking about. i have used it against a knife and against two people. It has served me well. You are probably some little jerk that barely knows a hawk hand from a tiger claw and feels the need to grand stand. You don't know what you are talking about so shhhhhhhhhhh. Let the grownups talk.

  • @Sojin123 that bull shit will only work on kids not two men in the street so stop lying .

  • @wayne2010games you are putting to much thought in it

  • Very good movie!

  • I guess this stuff would work on thug ,but not another kung fu martial artist or a karate guy.

  • wow i know the weakness to that style that they are doing

    sock em in the face

that isnt preying mantis style its fucken white man bull shit

  • i agree

    white man bull

  • its mantis style and more that guy Marek piechotka is one o the best guys in this style if u think im wrong come to poland warsaw and beat him :) if its "white men bullshit" :)

  • bring him to china and see what happens

  • actually the weakness to this artform, and most other preying mantis forms, are usually earth arts( aikido, iron fist, etc.) as well as eagle and tiger, usually. you do know that kung fu is the second deadliest martial art on earth dont you? the first is one from vietnam( i think) that is banned in many countries including the U.S.

  • and what would that art be, oh wise one

  • google it XD

  • the art of being a total spaz

  • they are kung fu fighting bees in the air

  • Blue berry pancakes plzz

  • retarded kids , stop spamming with crap.

  • This isnt a game. I'd gladly spam to stay alive.

  • good ideas guys; at first i thought some of it was a tad weak - as my bigot friend says, down below . . . but it is good technique - i hope you have been working on internal mastery.

  • this is gay, espeicially when its done by white people. id block all those weak moves

  • fuck you

  • dont get mad get glad

  • DO YOU LIKE WAFFLES?

  • yea

  • DO YOU LIKE PANCAKES?

  • that to

  • DO YOU LIKE FRENCH TOAST?

  • YEP!

  • mabye

  • So Awesome, i really want to learn this style, it is so cool!!!

  • watching this... sigh. its just not practical almost all of the movemenrts could be counterre by an idiot. it makes me sad to see that people would actually believe that this would work.

  • any move has a counter, but at full speed it ain't easy, just look at 228, that shit works. I've used mantis style bridging and unbalancing techniques against jiu-jitsu guys, Wing Chun practitioners, and MMA guys, and yeah, it fucking works.

Go find a legit mantis guy and spar with him, then go talk shit on youtube

  • As a jijutsu guy, i would find it very disorienting against one of these mantis guys... Seriosuly, theyre really good..

  • very true

  • the same i can say to ppl like u if it wont work so why so many ppl train it ? come to poland and warsaw and beat this guy :) adn tehn start talking shit

  • Not bad, it's good to see some practical application in some animals styles, or in this case, insect style. But the practicality is there, I can appreiciate that. Better than this one touch Aikido Fall Crap that you see now a days.

  • textbook style

  • What style of praying mantis is this?

    Is it plumflower mantis?

    thanks for posting this btw.

  • It's seven star mantis kung-fu from Yantai.

  • The answer to your question jiujutsuboy is yes it does make you a better person only if you know when, how and why you should ever use your kung-fu even in life threatining situations. When you know only how to fight never for yourself but to save the lives of other's then you will only then know it's truity and worth. Never become cocky or it will be your demise. Respect everyones views for who they are and for what they are and not what you think they are.

  • anyone can look good against someone who just stands there and throws what the trainer tells them to throw..its just for show, maybe if they foght a person that was in slow motion they would be a badass lol

  • hard core

  • tis is a really good vid...except it aint in eng...so no idea wad he wad saying...veri fast movements...veri smooth...i like ;)

  • that was a brill movie and at last i've finally got to see good application of it :D why do i have to live in crappy northern ireland where stuff like this is immensley rare.

  • nice chin na.

I'm from Brazil, and I practice Mantins Longe Fist Style(Tan lan chuang cheng)

  • That's interesting. As far as I know, this style of Mantis is not that common. Could you please tell me more about you Mantis style, i.e, northern/southern roots, how it differs from other Mantis styles, etc. Also, what do you get out of the training? Spritually and mentally are you a better person, and has it made you more confident in your fighting abilities?

    All the best my friend,

    Lee

  • kung fu is very effective against street fighters but i would train in mma as well just in case you're faced with a trained opponent

  • doesnt matter what "style" anyone chooses to study. If you are truely good at it you will do fine against any opponent no matter what they have trained in

  • nah man if your good at only one style. and sumone approaches you aving studied various styles. you will be at a disadvantage.

kung fu practitioners do awful on the ground for example

  • All the standup techniques apply on the ground you just use them a little differently. Kung fu varies greatly from style to style. Some have phenominal grappling applications. I do crosstrain and think it's valuable, but don't tell Lily Lau that she can't grapple cause she only does eagle claw(as far as I know).. not a good idea

  • i disagree, most people think rolling around on the ground is self defense. i say getting back up REAL FAST is self defense. principle and concepts of any art are usable on the ground as well. it's just that the techniques are more situational, not agreeing to go down, then rolling around looking for an armlock or choke.

  • lol you all watch too much movies and caged fights

street fighters always win they dont play games they kill you cant dodge or block a bullet lol

  • but you can stop a bullet by not allowing the situation to escalate to the point where someone wants to shoot you. or simply do your best to avoid bad neighborhoods, notorious bars or what not.

  • You can't stop the bullet, but you can defeat the person controlling the gun, avoid, shift, step, disarm before the bullet comes, that's where the train can make all the difference.

  • or get you shot and killed. safer to say that MAYBE you can. someone told me of a show on HBO where they showed self defense videos to the inmates for violent crimes and they all sat there and laughed. the instant you move that gun is going to fire.

  • Well I'm not surprised by that. Most average self defense today will get you killed. I'm not talking about some "take the gun away" stuff. I'm talking instant almost invisible speed to move the guy out of the way, or move yourself out of the way even better, then strike all in less than 1/2 second or better. I've done it on cops with prop guns and they could not pull the trigger in time, but of course it's always risky, but if you know your going to get shot, better do something.

  • definately agree with that. but you really should take the gun too if you can, as i've seen people get beat with ball bats and tire irons and get back up...dont need to give the guy another attempt at your life. also, its a very different thing when its a real gun, and your life is really in danger, a cop wont shoot you.

  • robert bussey i think told of a time at a seminar some guy was practicing knife disarms he'd already learned, then robert got a real knife and told the guy not to worry, that he was an expert knife fighter and that he wouldnt cut him, but come very close...the guy froze.

  • also a bit off topic but, a former police officer told me about a time when an officer was shot becuase he took a perp's gun away, and then handed it right back to him, because thats how they practice in class. you never really know what's going to happen.

  • i think if someone wanted to shoot you and take your money, they would. if they ask for your wallet, maybe you should just give it to em.

  • Yes your right, I agree that you should get the gun away and move and strike all in one motion. I was just thinking about those that teach to just focus on the gun alone. Many of those guys are big and get strong and/or on drugs too, so multiple techniques need to be executed simultaneously. Regardless of technique, it has to be done veery fast and instanly without thought to be effective.

  • and with no mercy. i think alot of people would cringe at the thought of really hurting someone, even if they are an armed attacker

  • Or you could just move to a decent country that doesnt have guns...Just a thought..

  • Guns are everywhere and it will only get worse in time as the world gets more desperate for oil, water, food and such. But it's not a bad thought anyway since the US is on its way down unfortunately.

  • You're right, here in Britain we had no gun crime up until the last couple of years, but its still nothing compared to America, Its nearly impossible to get a gun here, but if you want one enough and have the money im sure you could find a piece.

  • i agree, the important thing is that you are infact training!
