Wow, I was there and this is the first time I ever saw any video of it. Willie,Waylon, Alabama were there, Hank Jr I believe too, but I only went to see EmmyLou. A cop caught me smokin' one and I though he was gonna bust me. Nearly froze to death when it got dark, but it was a great time.
Thanx for posting this m4josh...I had the pleasure of meeting Ms Harris in '81 around the Evangeline time. What a time for her and what a time for her music. Actually she was on the Roses in the Snow tour when she was in Tulsa.
I think this may have been the tail end of the Last Date tour (maybe someone can clarify), but they just seemed a little jet-lagged. The YouTube video of her England performance of the same era (with Albert Lee & Frank Reckard) is closer to the energy level at the Santa Cruz show...just amazing!
I was there for the whole set, and IMO this was a most lackluster performance compared to one I saw at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds the year before. In '82 the album was LAST DATE, and she simply Rocked! Then again this was at about 12PM, one of the earliest shows of the day, so she may have been a bit jetlagged, perhaps.
if you dont like this you would boo santa claus

m4j, if this was lackluster, I'd sure like to have seen that '82 Santa Cruz Fairgrounds show!

Emmylou seems to have given this crowd more of a hillbilly performance than usual.
