Even the math proves that the car on the ground would win and yeah I know that it doesn't always work out that way but I seem to remember Tory filling the trunk with cement to make the car have a equal weight distribution but that probably also added a couple hundred pounds that the real car doesn't have plus (the car in the commercial) could have had an empty fuel tank saving about 120 lbs. All that weight could have added some valuable seconds to the falling car.

i think the excluded the weight of the engine... when the guy was in the wind tunnel thingy his model car did not have extra weight in the front of the car thats why it was hard for him to keep it straight down

what kind of car has an engine in the middle? the back? the front? probrably like 90% are in the front and 10% are in the back

so i guess they should rethink that problem so im guessing that the car will do flips in the air or do a nose dive

Not really the test isn't for that. they are "recreating" the comercial, to see if it was a myth (aka movie magic) or if it would really do that. The car they used in the show is the same model (within reason) as the commercial, and they balance its wieght, so it falls flat (like the commercial) then run the test to see the result. All this wind tunneling is to give them a better idea on what might occur or what they have to do to get it fall flat, Cars arn't cheep to go splat so best to test.

For all you people wondering what happened in the actual test: This was already aired on mythbusters a couple of weeks ago. This is not for the youtube special. The falling car beat the driving car in their full sized test. They altered the balance of the falling car to fall flat.
