Looks like he got a little quick on both putts and jerked them a little left...even on the little putt he made at the end went in the left side of the hole...pressure got to him...it happens to the best of them.
Brandt Snedeker is one of the best on tour at putting. Tells you somthing of the difficulty of greens on tour hey? Aim for the prize, miss the target, aim for the target win the prize.
When you putt slower you up the percentage of the ball going in because it can slowly roll in on each side. On 3-5 footers with not much break putt slow. If the break is right to left, aim at the right edge of the cup. Hit a slow put and it will surely break but if it breaks too much, its only from 3-5 feet and should slowly roll in on the left side of the cup.
@asiangolfguy I know. Sometimes I like to be aggressive on 4 - 5 footers because there is hardly any break and I'm confident it will roll in. On really slow greens 10+ footers its alot harder to creep the ball to the hole.
The funny thing is. Everyones makin more of a big hooplah about it then he is. Media sayin it cost him. He didn't make the Tour Champ. Who fricken cares. I'm sure he's over it. Maybe everyone else should too. It happens. Move on
I'm convinced that's what Tom Watson was avoiding when he hit his putt at The Open, he was afraid of going three feet by the cup.
Putting is what ruins many great careers in golf... even Phil Mickelson should be considered a notoriously bad putter from 2 feet, it's the kind of distance that oddly affects a player's nerves.
Poor bastard. That bogey putt was so rushed. He said he asked Roger Maltbie as he was walking up to the green what he needed to make in order to get to the Tour Championship. Way to get inside your own head, Brandt.
He always plays so fast in general that he probably misses putts now and then because he doesn't line up the putt precisely enough.
