  • Is a RED El Salvador iguana the same as yours?

  • @Ornqiraj i think a red el salvador iguana is just a red iguana from el salvador...? that would be my guess

  • Im thinking about purchasing one, but do you think i should 2? They're $50 each at my local pet store. I've been wanting an iguana since i was 5! I have a 3 year old bearded dragon that i love and adore. How long did it take you to get him this size?

  • @ZmanCanTV mine grew an inch a month every month for four years. so he was 3 ft long after about 2 years. if you want 2, you should be ready for the chance that you won't get along. if, within 2 years, you can provide the equivalent of 2 cages that are at least 5 feet long, 2 feet deep, and 4 feet tall, then you could get 2. iggies are great, but they're a lot of work... make sure you want two before you get them!

  • @grendeltherediguana Did you make your cage? or did you purchase it somewhere?

  • Can't wait to get mine.

  • Your red iguana looks amazing...i just got one the other day his body is red now with a lime green belly....what are you feeding hkm...and does he have any favorite foods thanks

  • @rickky0688 hey, yeah i was totally surprised by the lime green belly. i feed him collard/dandelion/mustard greens, sugar snap/snow peas, butternut/spaghetti/kabocha squash, parsnip, alfalfa for protein. he really likes collards, nectarines, and grapes.

  • he's really pretty

  • @Verdunkel1941 thanks!

  • How OLd?

  • @frubedubedydu18 he's just about 4 years old now. i got him in august 2007 and he was just a few months old then

  • Beautiful creature, I'm sure you are giving Grendel a lovely home!

  • @TheLeahGargar thank you!

  • I only wish mine was that big :/, Mines 6 months and still not tame

  • @ExoticAnimalsTV oh it'll be a while before yours gets this big :). grendel grows about an inch a month.

in what way is yours not tame? is he biting/tail whipping? are you handling him a lot? now is the time to do that! i have some advice if you want it.

grendel was always pretty skittish. we have a decent relationship now, given that he's a pretty large, territorial male, but in retrospect i wish i had worked a lot harder taming him b/c he can be aggressive.
