Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is Matt Hardy that ran in not some fan. Kevin Dunn in the production trailer I'm pretty sure would have noticed this and took decisive action as he saw he was not being pulled from the ring immediately. If it was unscripted, Matt would have been arrested on the site even if chargers wear later dropped, his mugshot would be all over the media. I highly doubt McMahon would have said to him while being taken in handcuffs “Lets negotiate you coming back”,

Also, notice how Matt had a solid 27 seconds of none jumping on him, don’t recall any fan being allowed to have that much time after jumping the rail. Why did he have that time? Because everyone knew he was going to run in and likely rehearsed it earlier that day. Yes there have been cases where fan demand has brought released talent back, as well as fan demands where talent was not brought back: Mickie James, Muhammad Hassan, Stone Cold for1 more match.

I was watching this live when it happened. When Matt attacked him backstage I was like "OH SHIT!"

Thing is, Matt Hardy was SO OVER when he re-entered the company (and right before) but his "come back promo" when Vince McMahon introduced him in the ring a few weeks later, was the beginning of the end of that, because it sucked so bad.

But at the time of this attack, Matt Hardy was WAY over with the fans, due to the real life story with Lita and Edge.
