I think I may have this. I am currently undergoing orthodontic treatment and have a correcting bite. I accidentally cracked my jaw a few months ago, and unfortunately devolved a habit. Lately I have been having horrific migraines, and a loud ringing in my ears.
Ok I had this jaw piping clicking noise for AWHILE now and I don't want to take any of my teeth out or crown it so are there any way?? And I'm 15 with big teath
im 12 and i just got this 4 days ago and i can imagine how worse its going to get and so far my jaws arent aligned and i lost all comfort and i have a quiet click when i open my mouth wide and close and my ear is hurting a lot. GL to everyone else who has TMJ and im hoping this thing you wear on your jaw works.
@BUllETpR00f782 dang, youre 12 and you just got this disorder? tough luck, I got mine a few months ago one morning after a big yawn....I'd visit a dentist if I wasn't so terrified of them :/ but eventually I will if I experience any pain, cuz at the moment all I have is a minor click with 0 pain. Best of luck to you
My symptoms were everything listed in this video & I'm 22. I recommend anyone with this symptoms to see a Neuromuscular Dentist. I have just been fitting with my orthotic & the relief I am already experiencing is incredible & I never thought the day would come where I didn't get headaches or feel jaw pain or clicking!! I went to my normal dentist so many times & he just kept saying "its cause you grind your teeth"...thats a cause NOT a cure. My neuromuscular dentist is amazing...Do it today!

DONT DO DRUGS PEOPLE ;D
but i dont have any pain and ll get my teeth fixed soon..
When I was younger dentists for whatever reason pulled teeth out that they claimed were "extra" or maybe they meant "unnecessary" teeth to have. Anyways, when I was a young adult I started braces and was asked by the orthodontist why were those teeth pulled and they explained to me (which I didn't understand) that my bite was not healthy and would require surgery. I lost my job, broke my braces off, and my TMJ or TMD is now so severe that I just want to sleep the rest of my life. IDK what to do!
My jaw only clicks when I move it right and then down. It doesn't happen everytime though. I do this thing where i open my mouth and move it to the right or left and then kinda tense my jaw and then almost close my mouth (I first did it by accident and then it became a little habit (I hardly do it and I don't do it in public lol)) When I do that like twice, my jaw can then click when I move it right and the down. What's the problem?
This is outdated or misleading, pushing malocclusion as the major cause of TMD pain. Worse, they push dental appliances and dental work as the first treatment steps - wrong. The first step is accurate diagnosis, which you can get only with good old fashioned EMG.
Rent an ipod sized EMG from a dentist, FDA approved, & diagnose or rule out TMD (and stop it with CES). Before making assumptions! Cosmetic dentists & botoxers don't push non-invasive, proven EMG with CES. Google Grindcare USA
I was diagnosed with TMD 2 months ago. I could hardly open my mouth cause it freakin' hurts! I visited a TMJ specialist this morning she did all that measuring of my bite. She told me to be back tomorrow for me to get the mouth piece/guard.
This assumes TMD is from malocclusion! The cause of TMD is instead usually chronic bruxism (grinding or clenching). Before listening to any dentist talk about expensive treatments, including dental restoration, GET AN ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS. Diagnose or rule out TMD, chronic bruxism. EMG is the accurate diagnostic, and the ipod sized Grindcare (google it) lets you do the sleep studies, and optionally use the feedback mode to STOP bruxing. Rent from a dentist who cares about you, not $
I'm only 17 years old and I've been experiencing this for months. Ringing in my ears, ear aches, and that obnoxious popping every time I yawn. I remember how much pain I was in when I first got it. I could barely open my mouth, the bite in my back teeth felt really off, and the pain in my jaw was just horrible. I had one of my molars pulled a year ago, but i don't know if that's causing the pain. My wisdom teeth might be coming in too. Then again, I do grind my teeth more than usual..
omg i have the clicking and popping of the jaw and difficulty of opening and closing my mouth its like i cant open my mouth as wide anymore and it always tightens up on my left side it hurts like crap!
I'm not sure if this is what I have or not. When I eat chewy things or if I'm lying on my back or right side, then the right side of my jaw becomes locked. I never force it open. I either wait it out, or ease my jaw from side to side until it fixes itself. And when I eat normally, it just sort of pops on the right side. It's been going on for almost a year. :/
@wrxSTi31 Nope. I kind of want to wait until after I have my baby, so I don't have appointments left and right. It's more annoying than anything else. I can't eat beef jerky :( Lol. Have you been?
@MoonkissedWolf i got the same thing as you cause i yawned and my mouth stretched more than usual i heard a pop and now it tightens when i try to open my mouth
I had the same TMJ problem and Dr. Eddie Siman at Millennium dental Cured me. His number is 310-496-1790. He saved me. I was suffering for over 5 years...
im 22 and i have been having this problem for almost a year now.my wisdom teeth were yanked at 17, along with one front tooth on my bottom jaw due to my jaw being too small to acomidate all those teeth... my left side is in pain constantly, can only open my mouth half way without pain hitting, (REALLY BITES WHEN I GOTTA YAWN) no pun intended... my ear is killing me every time it happens and i can blatently tell its in the joint. where do u go to get help with this?
Has anyone had help with the upper flat splint? I found this to be a failed torturous event. The spllnt just made me worse and the adjustments were very stressful with my painful jaw.
I have tmj tmd because my right 4 teeth are shorter than the left and they also have a wide range that causes my jaw to become twisted and extend too far to the right. What I have noticed is now I can't breathe through my nose. This is very uncomforable being a mouth breather at night. My question is: do other people with tmd also have this problem? After over 1 1/2 years my conditon continues to deteriorate.
oh no my doctor told me i had this today and my jaw is getting worse , it give me intense pain in my jaw joint and very bad headaches :( its good it can b treated , but its a painful wait
@chadale17 My doctor told me today I have it too. My regular doctor thought I was having ear infections because my ears were so red when it was because of this. He said if I don't get better in 10 days to go to a orthopedic surgeon. I have headaches, dizziness , and randomn ear pains. I always thought it was caused from allergies and ear infections though.
@destineyaliane11 I had the exact same problem, my doctor said it was an ear infection, gave me several meds, and nothing. Went to my Chiropractor for the first time in a few months after it started, right away he told me I have TMJ and I had the same symptoms as you, except I also have ringing in my right ear. Since my chiropractor has been working with me and my TMJ its gotten so much better, I know chiropractors aren't for everyone, but if your still having bad problems maybe consider it?
@bodomslipknot They told me to go to an orthopedic surgeon. I know the other day my left jaw joint was so swollen that I had a huge bump on the side of my face.
I have TMJ and have gotten physical therapy (PT) by a PT who had been trained in Rocobado treatment which includes gentle stretching exercises by the PT, ultrasound and posture exercises. The full name of the PT who pioneered treatment for TMJ is Mariano Rocobado. A jaw splint is also best made by a periodontist (gum specialist) as opposed to a general dentist.
HELPPPPP!my jaw has been popping and cracking for almost a year and a half now and sometimes my jaw gets stuck and i cant open it wide, i can just barely open it, but it hurts when i try to open it more. i get scared that this will get worse later on, im only 14 and i dont know what to do, ive researched about surgeries but theyre really costly and my parents cant afford them, ive tried everything but nothing works. i know i have tmj for sure. and i have braces but idk. if sum1 has any ideas???
@MissDBZmonster The same is for me. I am also only 14 years old and have had this issue for atleast 2 years. It is possibly because I grind my teeth and is missing the 2 fornt lower teeth and another one in the back. Like you, I have been researching about this a bit on the internet aswell. I should probably get braces to fix my teeth and then get something to protect my teeth from grinding. I'm sometimes scared to talk or position my face in a sertain way so it's damaging my social life aswell.
I have no pain and headaches but, i have the popping and clicking and it feels like my jaw comes out of place . I think i grind my teeth at night and i don't think i have TMJ since i have no pain, just the popping and clicking, can you please tell me what it wrong with my jaw?
My dentist told me there is a small percent of people who have uncontrollable TMJ. Even though I've had several bite plates & orthodics for the mouth, I still have SEVERE grinding & pain associated w/ my TMJ. My bite guards have shown wear from grinding which proves I'm still grinding despite the help. Is this true? Is there anything I can do to correct this problem. My facial, neck & shoulder pain is unbearable.
I have done a lot of research on the internet about TMJ. This video seems to be right on with the explanation and treatments. I would suggest that everyone go see a TMJ specialist and let them know you wish to fallow these steps verbatim. I mean yeah your TMJ might be caused by something like only stress but if that is the case then it would go away by its self. I don't think that is the case for most people so this video is right on.
Many more TMD problems are caused by nighttime clenching than are cause by misalignment. This is more of an ad for a dentist than "truth". Dentists make a fortune on TMD, partly because they rarely eliminate the problems and make lots of money trying. I mean, when this things says "you bring your teeth together to swallow hundreds of times per day", why should I believe any of it. I don't bring my teeth together to swallow.
Everyone send money via paypal to Zachrmc@gmail.com to help me with doctor bills. I have severe TMJ and back / neck problems an have seen so many doctors I am having to sell my truck because I can't afford anything. My life has been this way since I was 14ish ( I'm 23 now ). I just wanna feel normal. I'd say god bless but I don't feel there is one looking out for me anymore. I can't sleep right, I can't work right. I have never been in love I can't live. Thank you. Please help.
My jaw pops every time i open and close it. It's so loud sometime, that the people around me can hear it. I currently have braces, and hopefully that will fix my bite and fix this popping... -.-
Ugh! That explains why my ears are always ringing! My jaw is locked up right now, usually I am able to pop it back but not this time! I don't know what to do!
Thats exactly what i have right now :/ did you ever find help or get it fixed? If you did let me know...cuz this pain sucks! everything u mentioned i feel. Thanks.
@SwiftGunzz I feel u & wish i knew what to say. I'm going through similar and mine has never been this bad.I'm very frustrated there's not more help & options out there, for ppl lk us dealing w/this much pain & interfering w/our lives. I'm on my second splint now, which isn't exactly cheap even with insurance. I've used ice/heating pad, pain meds that only band-aid stuff, creams, rest ..you name it. Yet my understanding still no cure(just surgery). If haven't tried what i have, might help u :)
Ok I'm not sure if I have this, there past couple of weeks I have been waking up and falling asleep at night quite a lot at night when I'm half asleep and my jaw locks up A LOT I get massive pain then it "crunches" back into position and i repeat the process. Never happens when I'm awake only when I'm asleep, there are times when I've tried shouting in pain but can't make much of a sound ( I don't think?) Whether or not this is because of the jaw lock or not I don't know. Please help!
I had that about a month ago. When it locks for about a minute or 2 it's pain is worst that getting a large wound or something. It hurts like really. Then I went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned and remove a tooth. during the first half of that, My I don't feel that much pain on my jaw. But when I rinsed, and open it. My cheeks hurt like theyre swelling. The doctor had to used a bite box for me to know how large I am going to open my mouth and she keeps massaging it but its not working
I have it in my left jaw, the first three days were hell! I couldn't eat, I was starving. It was because my jaw wouldn't open big enough. It's been about two months and I still have it, though it's just pain and difficulty every once and a while. :(. All I know is my teeth are perfect, my jaw muscles kill! Taking pills(fr doc) not much of a diff.
i dont have pain..but i have locked jaw.. ijust knew i have one.. when i got my tooth extracted.. and i locked my jaw.. the dentist was so nervous and dont know what to do.. because she cat re align my jaw.. she had to call herdentsit friend to hel her to re align my jaw.. i was so scared..
fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!! i have that poping sound and the ear pain!
i thought the ear pain was just from my wisdom teeth comming in. i get them out in 2 weeks. do u have to get all that stuff tho cause i dont wanna get braces the guy said my teeth were fine!!
shit.. i bite my nails and fingers, drum with my teeth, grind my teeth when i sleep, chew gum, eat stuff that requires a lot of chewing.. i am fucked up, i need to get this checked out =\
Same, I'm really worrying, woke up this morning and my jaw was locked, been like that for a few months, first time it's loocked properly though, no i'm scared to sleep =[
i had this for over 11years and never seek'd treatment i just pop pain pills and smoked weed so i don't think about it it was bothering me so i just popped a soma and was board so i looked this up i have all the pains this vid describes i hate tmj/tmd
reckon this is what has caused deafness/tinnnitus in my right ear and that build up of pressure feeling i've had forever, only saw this today after my jaw started clicking and i've been to doctors at least 3 times over my ear, kinda annoying when i'm involved in music as well
How come dislocation don't seem to come up in symptoms?
I have dislocated the right jaw many times before finally being diagnosed with what I thought it was anyway. TMJ.
My jaw dislocates when I yawn too big.Once it's dislocated my teeth are fully out of alignment & I can't open/close my mouth until it's put back into place.
I injured my jaw by pushing my lower teeth when they were sticking out of my gums in my teens. I feel so bad for doing it now as I have TMJ as a result of it. I use to get clicking and stiffness of the jaw when opening it. I have had braces and mouthguards does not seem to have corrected it. Wish it would go away. I think we need more help with this.
Wow, I get all of these symptoms. Most sevre one is Jaw Popping out. To the point when people feel it with their hands they think i've dislocated it or popped the joint out! I used to think it was a cool party trick but now Im concerned as I get tinnitus & I want to get braces on my top teeth aswell. My dentist also said my bite is bad too. So, time for some medical check ups :)
@norcalgrl2290 Thats the same as me i keep having ear aches but the doc says my ears are fine i do have tmj so thats prob the thing thats doing it all, I also have really bad headaches here recently worse i have one now and have had it for 4 days now ...dont know what to do..:(
There is only one way to solve tmjd. If you are from the uk, do not go through the NHS. They will provide you with treatment such as physiotherapy and a night guard which increases the problems in the jaw.
You must see a orthodontist specializing in tmjd. They will make you an appliance which will position your jaw back into its correct location. you will find that neck tension will go away, along with blocked sinuses
TMJD is very complex. Just because you have jaw joint problems doesn't mean that you are in the same oat as somebody else with joint problems. In my opinion there are two types of problem. 1. a problem where there is a great deal of pain, spasm in the facial muscles. 2. a localized pain in the jaw joint itself. However the two can be linked. Once the disc has slipped out of its desired position you automatically hold your jaw in unatural position, thus causing strain on your muscles.
tmj may seem like a 'mild' disease to the uninformed, but for me it's debilitating. my jaw 'pops' many times when i yawn or eat and the accompanied feeling from it is just horrible. it feels like my jaw is slowly detaching itself and it scares the hell out of me.
i also started to get this tingling feeling on my chin and i just found out today that it could be attributed to tmj as well. it's an incredibly, incredibly weird and unpleasant sensation and i hope to god it's not permanent.
@dissembled hi, we have the same situation i have this tmj popping and clicking when i eat or yawn and its very distracting and bothered me a lot.. i had this 2 weeks ago.. what did u do with yours..? any remedy..? cuz i dont know what to do....
My dad died a year ago, and it got pretty bad, I ended up having to get a mouth guard, and it did get a little better, but the stuff I put in my mouth to help it at night, made it soft, and my pain got worse again, and I recently got a new one, but my pain, is like a shocking pain that might last a few seconds and makes me tear up, and I guess it will also spasm, I’m not sure how explain it. I just hope it get better soon.
i really need advice as i am in pain that i have never experianced and it is fustrating that no one can help. if my bite was put back exactly to how it was would it cure itself ?
iv had tmj for about 2 and a half yrs now. it first started during orthodontic treatment where i was given a removable brace so my bite was changed. i had tmj in the left side popping and clicking, no pain then i had 3 teeth taken out and had permanant bracess put on which is when it worsened and i felt a small hearing loss, muscle spasms and pressure building up in the ears. which i relived by placing my finger in my ear and pushing down simultaneously opening my mouth. this caused such pain
relief and i became addicted to doing that on both sides. the tmj would progress every 3 months and i would find new ways of coping. the problem is my right side is affected and about a week ago it started to hurt and continually does so. this may be due to i progressing or to the fact that a week b4 i hurt my nose and front teeth by a big impact. i think my bite needs to be changed. but the problem is that the dentist think that it wont change anything and do not refer me to a specialist
I had TMJ for 5 years before I found a doctor that used the methods described in this video. I have an orthodic and have started my orthodontic treatment. I have had no pain or issues since I have started treatment. It is very possible, with the proper health care professional, to be cured without the use of surgery. :)
im 14 also and i have had this for a year i went in to have surgery because it was needed to be done the pain was terrible whoever has this will have to have surgery eventually or it will get worse
HELP!!!! For the past 6 months ive had jaw popping but thats no big deal my mom had that as well for a couple years. but I was on the way home in the car and I was moving my jaw and I moved it in a way that the popping stopped but my muscles is now like stuck somewhere and it REALLY hurts to open my jaw and I can't open it all the way and I can feel the muscles in my left jaw as they move it really hurts and HELP WHAT WILL I DO??
unfortunately i have TMJ. I broke my jaw when i was 5 years old back in 1999 from crashing on a bike & didnt get an x-ray/CAT scan until 2009. Now, Im a 17 year old girl&ive learned that it is one of the most painful things ill ever have to deal with. ive seen several TMJ specialists &went to PT, which has been super expensive, $5000 in the past year alone. &they didnt help at all. I'm afraid that surgery is going to have to be my next choice. TMJ is one miserable joint disorder to have.. :(
i've had TMJ/TMD for about 6 or 7 years now, this is by far the best explanation, at least now i know what's actually happening with that damn painful clicking
i had pain behind my eyes for like a week and was freaking out. i have every symptom listed minus worn teeth and muscle pain (knock on wood). also i have visual snow. the problems came february 12th. now 3 months later I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This started when i was 8 i had no idea wat it was until i had unexplained headaches and ear ringing along with jaw popping i had no idea now i get an orthotic i am 13 now
I had a soccer game yesterday and the oppsoing team had a corner kick i got the ball wth my chest and somehow it hit my lower right side of my mandible. The pain was awful.(started since i was 12, got worse on that day) It was throbbing pain, popping constantly. I really need to see a doctor but what kind of doctor should i see? Ive been to many and nothing. A doctor that specializes in TMD
Im only 14... i just dont want no more pain, thats all :(
What does the victim of a bad dentist do? By drilling four of my back teeth, a dentist has made me extremely ill and turned my life upside down with tmj pain. I may never recover and he's eating steaks and raw veggies.
Hard to prove first think you should do is visit a Orthodontist specialist and have it examined for damage and potential cause, If there is evidence of it being a byproduct of dental work i would speak to a laywer about potental action that could be taken. In short its going to cost you a good chunk in xray and medical bill's to find out, Though you should probley see a orthodontist anyways about, the condition has the potential to get progressively worse depending on the cause.
This video has things just backwards for most people with TMD. It's isn't that the bad bite caused the TMD, it's that the TMD caused the bad bite. It's very complex and there are several different problems that can occur. But TMD doesn't have to even be painful. If you joint pops you have TMD.
I was diagnosed at the age of fourteen. I can't remember a day where I didn't wake up in pain or go to bed in pain. I've had people laugh at me over this but it's really not funny
holy crap. i am fourteen, and i was diagnosed with it now too. its absolutely horrible. the biggest thing people laugh at it "oh shannon cant give blowjobs" nehhhnehhhnehneh. ugh .people laugh and they dont take it seriously, i would really like to be able to eat apple SLICES again.sighhhh
II anyone knows a good TMJ specialist in the San Francisco Bay Area who works with CROWNS, please let me know. My crown 30 & tooth 19 started my bruxism & bite problems years ago. NOW, I have no cusps on my molars which started causing jaw, neck, ear, face, and inner ear pain. I read that OCCLUSAL EQUILIBRATION specialists are extremely difficult to find. I feel so hopeless!
I haven't been able to chew at all for 60 days. My dentist adjusted 4 upper crowns on the right. 2 days later I was in severe jaw joint pain that put me in bed for 30 days. This dental butchery is shameful. It is going to cost me thousands of dollars to fix the dental error, all because I trusted a dentist.
@cactimargie: I know the feeling... I believe people become dentists when they aren't smart enough to be doctors... So good luck... Maybe you will find a dentist that chose to one through choice instead of a last resort to be a "doctor"...
well my first comment was based on your saying that dentists aren't smart enough to become doctors... They are doctors... you are still an idiot for not seeing that. Yes so are Vets. Good for you to recognize that. You seem to have some issues with the language... "Maybe you will find a dentist that chose to one through choice instead of a last resort...." What the hell does that say? Go back to school.
Thanks a lot.. I had very painful pain in my right eye in the back and i have when to eye doters to see what i keep getting thiis pain, and they did not know why i was having this pain..and i still have apin as of now, but now i know so i have to get that bone remove ASAP...Thanks a lot
I have this its very painfull my dentis told me to do this exercise's with my tounge and jaw. and also How to solve it Avoid opening the mouth wide; place a fist under the chin whilst yawning avoid large bites into apples/rolls ; slice food thinly avoid excessive chewing avoid biting nails avoid shouting and singing eat a soft diet try to find a distraction away from stressful situations. hope that helped :D
you forgot to say dentist as one of the causes of tmj

This is outdated or misleading, pushing malocclusion as the major cause of TMD pain. Worse, they push dental appliances and dental work as the first treatment steps - wrong. The first step is accurate diagnosis, which you can get only with good old fashioned EMG.

Has anyone had help with the upper flat splint? I found this to be a failed torturous event. The spllnt just made me worse and the adjustments were very stressful with my painful jaw.
cactimargie 7 months ago
I have tmj tmd because my right 4 teeth are shorter than the left and they also have a wide range that causes my jaw to become twisted and extend too far to the right. What I have noticed is now I can't breathe through my nose. This is very uncomforable being a mouth breather at night. My question is: do other people with tmd also have this problem? After over 1 1/2 years my conditon continues to deteriorate.

chadale17 7 months ago
@chadale17 My doctor told me today I have it too. My regular doctor thought I was having ear infections because my ears were so red when it was because of this. He said if I don't get better in 10 days to go to a orthopedic surgeon. I have headaches, dizziness , and randomn ear pains. I always thought it was caused from allergies and ear infections though.
destineyaliane11 7 months ago
@destineyaliane11 I had the exact same problem, my doctor said it was an ear infection, gave me several meds, and nothing. Went to my Chiropractor for the first time in a few months after it started, right away he told me I have TMJ and I had the same symptoms as you, except I also have ringing in my right ear. Since my chiropractor has been working with me and my TMJ its gotten so much better, I know chiropractors aren't for everyone, but if your still having bad problems maybe consider it?

I have TMJ and have gotten physical therapy (PT) by a PT who had been trained in Rocobado treatment which includes gentle stretching exercises by the PT, ultrasound and posture exercises. The full name of the PT who pioneered treatment for TMJ is Mariano Rocobado. A jaw splint is also best made by a periodontist (gum specialist) as opposed to a general dentist.

Did you have your wisdom teeth removed?
That's what fixed me.
Nosighter 6 months ago
@MissDBZmonster The same is for me. I am also only 14 years old and have had this issue for atleast 2 years. It is possibly because I grind my teeth and is missing the 2 fornt lower teeth and another one in the back. Like you, I have been researching about this a bit on the internet aswell. I should probably get braces to fix my teeth and then get something to protect my teeth from grinding. I'm sometimes scared to talk or position my face in a sertain way so it's damaging my social life aswell.

I have no pain and headaches but, i have the popping and clicking and it feels like my jaw comes out of place . I think i grind my teeth at night and i don't think i have TMJ since i have no pain, just the popping and clicking, can you please tell me what it wrong with my jaw?
s0ulsuviva 7 months ago
My dentist told me there is a small percent of people who have uncontrollable TMJ. Even though I've had several bite plates & orthodics for the mouth, I still have SEVERE grinding & pain associated w/ my TMJ. My bite guards have shown wear from grinding which proves I'm still grinding despite the help. Is this true? Is there anything I can do to correct this problem. My facial, neck & shoulder pain is unbearable.
JillCSilva 8 months ago
I have done a lot of research on the internet about TMJ. This video seems to be right on with the explanation and treatments. I would suggest that everyone go see a TMJ specialist and let them know you wish to fallow these steps verbatim. I mean yeah your TMJ might be caused by something like only stress but if that is the case then it would go away by its self. I don't think that is the case for most people so this video is right on.
midarkmind 9 months ago
Many more TMD problems are caused by nighttime clenching than are cause by misalignment. This is more of an ad for a dentist than "truth". Dentists make a fortune on TMD, partly because they rarely eliminate the problems and make lots of money trying. I mean, when this things says "you bring your teeth together to swallow hundreds of times per day", why should I believe any of it. I don't bring my teeth together to swallow.

UkemanSmurf 10 months ago
I had that about a month ago. When it locks for about a minute or 2 it's pain is worst that getting a large wound or something. It hurts like really. Then I went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned and remove a tooth. during the first half of that, My I don't feel that much pain on my jaw. But when I rinsed, and open it. My cheeks hurt like theyre swelling. The doctor had to used a bite box for me to know how large I am going to open my mouth and she keeps massaging it but its not working

I have dislocated the right jaw many times before finally being diagnosed with what I thought it was anyway. TMJ.

MrRoberto05 1 year ago

I just hope it get better soon.

iv had tmj for about 2 and a half yrs now. it first started during orthodontic treatment where i was given a removable brace so my bite was changed. i had tmj in the left side popping and clicking, no pain then i had 3 teeth taken out and had permanant bracess put on which is when it worsened and i felt a small hearing loss, muscle spasms and pressure building up in the ears. which i relived by placing my finger in my ear and pushing down simultaneously opening my mouth. this caused such pain
Akbar2189 1 year ago
relief and i became addicted to doing that on both sides. the tmj would progress every 3 months and i would find new ways of coping. the problem is my right side is affected and about a week ago it started to hurt and continually does so. this may be due to i progressing or to the fact that a week b4 i hurt my nose and front teeth by a big impact. i think my bite needs to be changed. but the problem is that the dentist think that it wont change anything and do not refer me to a specialist

@cactimargie
Lokivoid 2 years ago
This video has things just backwards for most people with TMD. It's isn't that the bad bite caused the TMD, it's that the TMD caused the bad bite. It's very complex and there are several different problems that can occur. But TMD doesn't have to even be painful. If you joint pops you have TMD.
