@JABJABRIGHTCROSS Then you are one of the few who beliefs that.Wladimir has a pathetic excuse for a chin. They never faced anybody as intense and determined as Frazier. They wouldn't even be able to handle his pace.Wladimir would get knocked out, while Vitali would be beaten like Ali got beaten in fight 1.
If Ali would fight Wladimir in his prime (so in 1967) he'd knock him out probably in round 3. Against Vitali; he'd whipp Vitali all night long and humiliate him at will. There is no comparison
@michaelyouth Dont think so mate... people get biased by how charismatic ali was. Frazer was almost a cruser weight man... seriously he had good head movement and a left hook and thats all he was. he din have power at all....he used his shoulder in the left hook which did damage.
the bros are modern fighters man, they are far more knowledgeable and anlytical than the fighters of Alis era.
primaryu advantage is size- so Frazier is too small
@JABJABRIGHTCROSS Yeah right. Wladmir got beaten up by a professional golfer, Corrie Sanders. If he get's hit by an ordinary heavyweight with a punch, he goes down. Ali never stayed down. Neither did Frazier. All they have is height. They have no analytical deductive skills. All they do is use their height, that's it. Wladimir is a poor excuse for a champion. They have no quickness, no pace, no speed, no stamina, no endurance, no reflexes. Just height.
@michaelyouth Common man give them their due credit, Lennox lewis was elite and defenitely belonged in the ring with the likes of Ali, frazier and vitali was beating him but for the cut
They sure are not spectacular and entertaining mostly coz they cant speak eng, but they are defenetiley effective.
corrie sanders was an under achiever he had such potential...but he was a rich guy with wavering interest....his left was one of the best in the heavy weight div at that point...
@michaelyouth wladmir has a descent chin as it was evident in the haye fight, haye did catch him with occational rights in that fight. and haye can bang. a clean flush puch on the chin with by a full blown heavy weight by sanders or hasim rehman or
for me
wladmir vs frazier (W by unanimous decision, may be wlad get knocked down once)
wlad vs Ali (Ali out points him or Kos him)not by much
@JABJABRIGHTCROSS Haye was a cruiserweight plus Haye never was a real hard puncher. Haye is probably not even in the top 100 of all time greats. Stop talking about Wladimir ''glass jaw'' Klitschko. He is nothing, I'd not even rank him in the top 50. Frazier would knock hiss ass out, same way he did to Buster Mathis. Ali would kill Wladimir and well I'm not even going to discuss this with you. You compare a man who beat future hall of famers with Vitali who couldn't beat a pathethic Lennox Lewis.
@michaelyouth Secondly Ali at his prime was great... he never knew to brawl like tyson... not ali was that porwerful, he just beat his man down...
wladmir does not have a great chin but ...glass jaw thing is is a myth man.... u get hit flush straigt by a power puncher most heavy weights go down man. lemon and ross he got gassed out, the other one against sanders he was hit by a clean great punch.
Ali was a thinker it would have been interesting- but frazier was not of the class of the bros
@JABJABRIGHTCROSS Secondly this is a Ali-Frazier video. One of the greatest rivalry's in history. Stop talking about 2 so called champions, whom haven't even beaten anybody 40% as good as Frazier. Oh wait, Vitali fought an old underprepared, overweight Lennox Lewis who trained only 1 week for the fight. And Vitali at the last rounds was losing steam while Lewis (who was at the worst shape of his life) was cutting him at will.Stop talking about those bums.Talk about Ali/Frazier
I scored it 7-4-1 for Ali. VERY irritated at all of the holding by Ali, although I don't really blame him for it when Tony Perez was looking the other way.
Really a poor-quality fight compared to the other two, but a part of boxing history. RIP Joe Frazier, a top 10 all time champ.
Joe looked out of shape for this fight...and just couldn't get his left hook HIGH enough.(dipping too far down when throwing it)..often landing on Ali's shoulder. even when within range. Whereas in the first fight...that left hook just never missed Ali's face. RIP Joe...heart of a lion!
thease guys went toe ti toe wi each other 3 times how meny times do c that you have to have the upmost respect for them !! ps that mixed martials art stuff it shit its dirty fighting thease guys have class and skill ....

It happens when you're as confident (or over-confident) as Ali often was. He couldn't circle and dance all night like he would have liked to because he ran out of steam. Watch Ali/Frazier II if you want to see Ali in proper shape and dancing all night like he should have in the first fight.
@LedWhisky69 More like holding behind Joe's head all night was his gameplan. Shitty ref shouldn't have allowed it. Prime Ali got knocked out by little midget Henry Cooper. He was chinny. Joe would have knocked him out more brutally.
If Ali was out of shape for the first fight, he would have been knocked out. What was his excuse the third time around when Joe nearly killed him but had to retire because he was blind in the ring?
@Shirishama1 LOL! You are grossly ignorant of boxing. "Ali got knocked out by little midget Henry Cooper". Hmm, where should I begin with how much BS you're talking here? First off, Ali was NOT knocked out. He got caught with a good punch, went down, bounced right back up, recovered, and beat Cooper's ass; stopped him on cuts. Second, Cooper was NOT a midget by any stretch of the imagination. He was 6'2" / 188 lbs to Ali's 6'3" / 201+1/2 lbs during their first fight.
@Shirishama1 Now, if Ali was out of shape in his first fight with Frazier, he would have been knocked out, you say? Tell me, when was Ali ever knocked out? Tell me once. Even against Larry Holmes, when he was sadly past his prime and sick with Parkinson's, he still managed to stay on his feet until they stopped it. In great shape or not, no one EVER knocked Ali out and Frazier couldn't do it either. What was his excuse in the 3rd fight? Frazier was fucked up bad and couldn't continue.
@Shirishama1 Seems to me that you are TERRIBLY ignorant of boxing and of Muhammad Ali. Before you dare engage someone in a debate, make sure you actually have some knowledge in the area first. If not, you just end up looking completely stupid just as you do right now.
@Shirishama1 I countered everything you said and then some. Can't you read? Instead of crying about insults, where's your response? You know what, don't even bother. It's clear that you're just a shit talker and don't have the necessary knowledge to discuss boxing. You'll just embarrass yourself more than you already have.
"Joe Louis is the greatest heavyweight champion of all time. Rocky Marciano is second only to Louis. Where do I rate Ali? Somewhere below me. I beat him, and if I could beat him, no doubt Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano could have beaten him" - Joe Frazier
@set2light oh he was a lot more than that, constant pressure, cut the ring off, gave you no space, forced you into a phone booth, and he was very very powerful, and then the left hook!!
i had it 7-4-1 for Ali! Frazier wasn't near the fighter he was in their 1st showdown. That Frazier probably would've beaten this Ali too. Ali, on the other hand was in better shape in this fight. Not much power to his punches be he had good hand speed and kept his feet moving for the most part.
What I love most about this fight is Ali's side to side movement. Most of the time he circles his opponents, This fight in particular he completely showcases how to fake out your opponent. Such finesse when he slips punches and fires back the 1,2. It's what creates his hole style, Its to fuckin cool
@jacobjamesbrown Strongest and most powerful ....HELL NO. George chuvalo even said ali couldnt punch for shit. His punches had to accumulate to knock you out
This fight would be the closest to what it would have been like if they fought in 1969. Ali still would have probably would have been in his prime in 69' if the layoff didn't happen. Ali wouldn't have been suspended for 3 1/2 years, which resulted in him losing a lot of his stamina in his legs and ability to throw more lengthy combinations. If Ali would never have been suspended, he never would have lost to Frazier.
This fight was a blowout, 9-3 Ali. Not to mention Ali almost knocked out Frazier in the second round but the ref saved Frazier with a bad call. Notice that in that second round, Ali staggered Frazier and Frazier's legs buckled very much the same way his legs buckled when he fought Foreman...If Ali danced in the first fight like he did here he would have been 3-0 vs Frazier.
Of the 3 Ali-Frazier fights, i liked this one the most. Ali's "float like a butterfly sting like a bee" style seemed to have worked better against Frazier than his "rope-a-dope" style.
Thanks for posting the entire fight. And thanks for posting it with Cosell's audio commentary. That ABC review with the commentary comming from the studio was not so good.
1. too much holding 2. ali won handily even though he was tired thoughout just like in there first fight 3. ali had to train better to build more stamina
@blite13 - Both man aren't at their best here, actually. Ali is no longer his best after spending three years in exile. Angelo Dundee stated that his reflexes will suffer, and his footwork won't be as good. He got that right. Even his speed is visibly "slower" than before. Both men in their absolute prime, it still would be Ali's toughest fight.
@primeboxers well if professional judges gave a draw to Chavez v Whitaker, a UD to Ali v Norton III and Griffin both decisions against Toney, anyone can be a judge :)
@primeboxers - Well, I hate to say that seems to be the only way to hold Frazier back. Frazier charges forward like a honey badger running into a swarm of bees! With Ali's height and range he wouldn't have any other way. He can't fight in the inside with Frazier anyway. I know holding bores people, but sometimes it is an inevitable move.
@expressivechild If there is too much holding, points and then disqualification should happen. To not even warn Ali of holding and pulling his head in, is a sham. Ali got a lot of things his way, many times, he was the money maker, the star, but he was also a great fighter and person, just like Joe.
@blite13 - You got that right, his name is Ali. I notice in a lot of big fights, the champion is "exempt" from warning and point deductions. While I can't say Ali clinch enough times to be disqualified, but the referee should have warned him. He did get a warning for holding the back of Frazier's head though. Every fight of Frazier is worth watching.
@expressivechild Joe lost Yank Durham before this fight, his conditioning wasn't the best. I don't think Joe's desire was there in this fight. If he had won, he would of faced George again, I don't think he wanted that at this point of his career. Manila, Joe came very close, Ali was freaked that Joe was so strong that day, he wasn't expecting Joe to fight him that hard. Ali fought through it and Joe's eyesight was bad before the fight, much less after the fight, he also had a very bad back.
@blite13 - In Thrilla in Manilla, Ali took for granted. He mistaken Joe for a washed out after his devastating loss to Foreman. In fact, most of the boxing world at that time thought that Frazier is washed out early. Ali was busy clowning around, even intruding Frazier's camp and got himself chased out. That explains why Ali wasn't in his best shape that day. This second fight, is a fight Ali needed more than Frazier, indeed. But Frazier never fails to show the world what heart is really about.
@expressivechild Ali was in great shape, remember, the heat was around 110 degrees in the ring, Joe was reliving the first fight and Ali was stronger in the end, so, yes, Ali was in shape. He was fooling around on his wife and they thought he was distracted more than not being in top shape. That was a brutal fight, if Ali wasn't in shape, he get's KOd. Joe's last Hurrah, he was done after that fight and so was Ali.
@blite13 - If you compare this fight and the third, you can clearly see Ali's muscles were not as firm. And his footwork more sluggish. Ali as well as his camp admit Ali clown around too much and promote the fight instead of training for it. Not to mention the affair with his "mistress", Veronica Porcche. But Ali is tough, he can take hell a lot of punishment. Ali himself admit he thought a "washed out" Frazier would be easy. The fight was stopped before Ali could quit. He almost did. (continue)
@blite13 - The heat was murderous for both man, Ali is a great fighter. Though he underestimated Frazier for the second time, he managed to fight till Frazier can fight no more. Frazier is the true winner though, his eyes failed him. But in reality, Ali was leading in the scorecards, way ahead of Frazier. If the fight continues, Frazier would have to knock him out to win, and I doubt he could do it. Ali was leading by about 6 points in every scorecard.
:) ;) muhammad alì il mio unico atleta preferito, è e per sempre lo rimarrà, per sempre il migliore :) ;)

Damn, Frazier was cool guy, I'm fan.
Kondzio717 7 months ago
What I love most about this fight is Ali's side to side movement. Most of the time he circles his opponents, This fight in particular he completely showcases how to fake out your opponent. Such finesse when he slips punches and fires back the 1,2. It's what creates his hole style, Its to fuckin cool

303native1 8 months ago
This fight was a blowout, 9-3 Ali. Not to mention Ali almost knocked out Frazier in the second round but the ref saved Frazier with a bad call. Notice that in that second round, Ali staggered Frazier and Frazier's legs buckled very much the same way his legs buckled when he fought Foreman...If Ali danced in the first fight like he did here he would have been 3-0 vs Frazier.
vladiator100 9 months ago
ali clearly won rounds 9 & 10 where he wasnt traveling but fighting stationary and the judges gave those rounds to frazier? there all 3 wipes.

That ABC review with the commentary comming from the studio was not so good.
cnh2132 11 months ago
I thought Frazier won the fight by being more aggresive and wanted to fight more.
WalkingMiracle54 11 months ago
1. too much holding 2. ali won handily even though he was tired thoughout just like in there first fight 3. ali had to train better to build more stamina

Sinco1967 1 year ago
@Sinco1967 Joe wasn't in his prime here, if you take Joe at his best vs Ali at his best, it's a coin flip.
blite13 11 months ago 3
@blite13 - Both man aren't at their best here, actually. Ali is no longer his best after spending three years in exile. Angelo Dundee stated that his reflexes will suffer, and his footwork won't be as good. He got that right. Even his speed is visibly "slower" than before. Both men in their absolute prime, it still would be Ali's toughest fight.

Frazier fought bravely on all three fights. This fight, Ali took it seriously and actually won.
expressivechild 1 year ago
@expressivechild yeah, but look at all the holding. It's like Waldimir Klitschko; throw until you miss and then hold until the ref breaks.
primeboxers 1 year ago
@primeboxers - Well, I hate to say that seems to be the only way to hold Frazier back. Frazier charges forward like a honey badger running into a swarm of bees! With Ali's height and range he wouldn't have any other way. He can't fight in the inside with Frazier anyway. I know holding bores people, but sometimes it is an inevitable move.
expressivechild 1 year ago
@expressivechild sure, but holding the opponents head is actually fauling.
primeboxers 1 year ago
@primeboxers - True actually. In fact, Ali was repeatedly warned for holding the back of Frazier's head in Thrilla in Manila.
expressivechild 1 year ago
@expressivechild If there is too much holding, points and then disqualification should happen. To not even warn Ali of holding and pulling his head in, is a sham. Ali got a lot of things his way, many times, he was the money maker, the star, but he was also a great fighter and person, just like Joe.
blite13 11 months ago
@blite13 - You got that right, his name is Ali. I notice in a lot of big fights, the champion is "exempt" from warning and point deductions. While I can't say Ali clinch enough times to be disqualified, but the referee should have warned him. He did get a warning for holding the back of Frazier's head though. Every fight of Frazier is worth watching.
expressivechild 11 months ago
@expressivechild Joe lost Yank Durham before this fight, his conditioning wasn't the best. I don't think Joe's desire was there in this fight. If he had won, he would of faced George again, I don't think he wanted that at this point of his career. Manila, Joe came very close, Ali was freaked that Joe was so strong that day, he wasn't expecting Joe to fight him that hard. Ali fought through it and Joe's eyesight was bad before the fight, much less after the fight, he also had a very bad back.
blite13 11 months ago
@blite13 - In Thrilla in Manilla, Ali took for granted. He mistaken Joe for a washed out after his devastating loss to Foreman. In fact, most of the boxing world at that time thought that Frazier is washed out early. Ali was busy clowning around, even intruding Frazier's camp and got himself chased out. That explains why Ali wasn't in his best shape that day. This second fight, is a fight Ali needed more than Frazier, indeed. But Frazier never fails to show the world what heart is really about.
expressivechild 11 months ago
@expressivechild Ali was in great shape, remember, the heat was around 110 degrees in the ring, Joe was reliving the first fight and Ali was stronger in the end, so, yes, Ali was in shape. He was fooling around on his wife and they thought he was distracted more than not being in top shape. That was a brutal fight, if Ali wasn't in shape, he get's KOd. Joe's last Hurrah, he was done after that fight and so was Ali.
blite13 11 months ago
@blite13 - If you compare this fight and the third, you can clearly see Ali's muscles were not as firm. And his footwork more sluggish. Ali as well as his camp admit Ali clown around too much and promote the fight instead of training for it. Not to mention the affair with his "mistress", Veronica Porcche. But Ali is tough, he can take hell a lot of punishment. Ali himself admit he thought a "washed out" Frazier would be easy. The fight was stopped before Ali could quit. He almost did. (continue)
expressivechild 11 months ago
@blite13 - The heat was murderous for both man, Ali is a great fighter. Though he underestimated Frazier for the second time, he managed to fight till Frazier can fight no more. Frazier is the true winner though, his eyes failed him. But in reality, Ali was leading in the scorecards, way ahead of Frazier. If the fight continues, Frazier would have to knock him out to win, and I doubt he could do it. Ali was leading by about 6 points in every scorecard.
