Pretty good for the first time doing this kind of thing. Another software that would help is After Effects. You can download a 30 day free trial from the Adobe website. With it you can make electrical effects like when the AT-AT fell over and it short-circuited or use it to make lasers and Force lightning.
@MasterGus501 Yeah, I always wanted to go back and clean this thing up now that I can navigate Final Cut and Photoshop a lot better than I used to. Unfortunately, I'm graduating this year and I won't have access to final cut anymore. One day, maybe, I'll get it.
Blue screen is your friend if you can figure out how to do it better than I did. I had to delete the background from each picture in photoshop one at a time... but I also didn't have a different color background when the pictures were taken...otherwise I would have been able to use selective color to delete the backgrounds from the pictures fast. Lesson learned I guess!
Yep, it's stop motion with the background photoshopped out. This was my first time using video editing software so I know the quality isn't amazing. I have all the pictures ready to do a second Star Wars stop motion but I'm waiting for my teacher to come back from vacation ;-;
It was a combination of things. We used white string from my sewing machine in some shots and in one shot, the x-wing taking off, my fiancee held it with one hand while I shot the pictures, then later I photoshopped out his hand.
I'm not sure. It's my fiancee's SW collection. Some of that stuff he has collected since he was just a child. I'm sure e-bay would probably give you a better idea of that kind of thing. I *do* know a lot of that price depends on the rarity of the item.
dude, i love this. I made like a 3 hour movie out of all the toys. I am currently doing post on it and want to release it in short episodes on youtube soon.
Dude, nice job! I just got some S.W. gigs yesterday and am thinking about making a video short. Of course my teen girls will say they don't know me!These are the 3 1/2 inch figures, right? I didn't know the other gear came at that scale! Hope you got a decent grade.
Haha, yeah I think so, though I'm not sure where all the accessories came from. They're from my fiance's MASSIVE S.W. collection. I asked him if I could borrow some for a little stop-motion movie and he came back with BOXES of figures and props. I think I got an A, too.
i think you did a superb job considering a first effort
i particularly liked your x- wing take off
the laser blasts were good too
ok animation a bit jerky but still a noble effort
i think you got skills and should pursue it
best of luck
