Well, this certainly retains the spirit of 82.....when hardcore was intense, original, serious, aggressive and incredibly inspirational.

Hardcore bands are ten a penny....... but not many can give Slapshot a run for their money . Th eonly other person with such intensity is Brannon from Negative Approach and he was there from day one too.

@rrbh Just sayin it's a little to "heavy" for 1982 boston. You're just going on the sound of known bands. Smaller underground bands like the one I was in had this sound in '84 and it hit in '85-'86 with Slapshot.

Only the established bands (SSD, DYS, etc) went the Motley Crue route. The smaller bands were cooking up this exact sound at that time.

Slapshot should be taken with a pinch of salt, I don't think they're preachy, I don't think they've ever been preachy. The great thing about them is that you never know if they're being serious or not, most of the time though they just take the piss. Amazing band.
