I find it funny that he is sweating like banshee in this scene, but not really in the preceding or following scenes.

This scene is awesome, but it would have been interesting to actually see him fight with the whip for more than two seconds. The whip was the most underused asset he had.

This was actually supposed to be a long, drawn out fight. However, Harrison Ford was so tired from the rest of the days' shooting that he suggested he just shoot the guy. Everyone agreed, and it went as we see here.

If you are in an armed confentation and you have a weapon other than I firearm this is what will happen. Guns >> old weapons and this clip is a comical way of proving it. What I love about this scene is not only its humor, it's that it is realistic. Too many action movies today have their main heroes go head to head with the sword-wielding bad guy just to shoot more crowd-pleasing 'omfg kung fu' action.

But this is Indy we're talking about. He has a revolver anyway, why not just shoot the baddie, Marion being kidnapped was his priority, not fighting henchmen in Matrix-esque fight scenes.
