  • @kittyhole1 reduce or omit the milk. i usually don't add milk. i only add a tablespoon or two if the frosting turns out too stiff

    Hi I made those today but somehow when i got them outta the oven, they "fell" inside again....u know what i mean...what could i have done wrong? mine did not have these round tops. :-( u have any idea?

  • @strongtower919 that sounds a bit like they need to stay in the oven for just a few minutes more next time. cupcakes are done when the very top springs back very so slightly when you touch them. (just an idea, i havent actually tried this recipe)

  • hey, i've just made these, and they all collapsed! i measured everything precisley, and the oven on 350 aswell, i baked them in the middle of the oven. what am i doing wrong? the cakes look cracked too, like a dryed up swamp. hope to hear from you

  • @strongtower919 Cakes will sink or fall because Overbeating – too much air is incorporated into batter. Underbaking - Oven temperature too low and/or too short a baking time. Over or under measurement of liquid or under measurement of flour.Using too small or large of a baking pan. Moving or jarring cake before sufficiently baked or opening the oven door before cake sets.

    Note: Only open oven door if absolutely needed, one-half to three-quarter's way through baking.

  • @strongtower919 sorry had to do 2 reply's also The most common error has to do with the oven temperature. Make sure you have an oven thermometer to test your oven for accuracy. Depending on the recipe if you fold in egg whites, if not beaten fully or folded in too harshly, the cake could fall. Even creaming the butter and sugar too much or too little can cause problems.

  • @aldwin1213 thats not even a lot of sugar. Its two cups... and you wont even consume that much sugar unless you eat all of the cupcakes.

  • @aldwin1213 Why would you be eating CUPCAKES if you're concerned about sugar intake? If you take the sugar total for the batter and the icing, and divide by the 24 cupcakes made, it's 3/8 of one cup of sugar per cupcake - 3/8 of a cup would be 6Tbsp of sugar (75 grams) per cupcake. That's the same amount of sugar in 21.4oz of Pepsi.

  • @Cherryblawsome No, I don't think you could, but I'm not exactly sure. In the beginning of the video the butter milk was whipped to a thick consistancy, while I'm not sure that this is possible with ordinary cow's milk.

  • I used the regular granulated sugar in place of brown sugar and without vanilla extract. The result is agreeable good. Maybe next time I will get the brown sugar and vanilla. Thx for the recipe.

  • You can cut with flour or potato starch if you really want to. Or just make a boiled icing. Any frosting made with powdered sugar uses a lot to get the right consistency.
