Just wanted to say as a gay man I don't find this offensive - it plays with stereotypes as the whole film does. I particularly like Dom Deluise's straight (closeted?) director who thinks he's terrorising the dancers but actually ten times more (unconsciously) camp than they are!

This is what comedies nowadays lack.......they try to be in your face funny with sexual references, none of them have original ideas like Blazing Saddles did. There was so much fantastic dry humor in this movie

Mel Brooks is a genius, Blazing Saddles is a MASTERPIECE: it has great, memorable examples of almost every type of humour you can think of. This part shown in this video has some funny stuff too ("Watch me faggots!!"). But in my opinion, Mel Brooks doesn't know how to end a movie up to the strength of the overall script. I see this as his only weakness, but it doesn't ruin the whole movie. I still hold him in the highest regard, I'm not exaggerating when I call some of his films all-time greats.
