@imulateprophecy These amps still sound fantastic at lower wattages. I tried the Rebel 20 through a 4x12 cab at 1 watt and it still sounded fantastic!
@testing123reviews Why do you say that you prefer the Shiva? I really appreciate the how in depth the reviews are and how they cover a range of styles so everyone can pull from it. Thank you!
@y1shai Thanks for the great comment dude. I've tried many amps, I'm constantly impressed with Egnater amps. But, when I tried a Bogner Shiva, my mind was blown!
I'm looking for a new tube amp, I play 60's blues, mostl cream hendrix doors deep purple and all that good stuff. I'm looking at the fender hot rod deluxe and the H&K statesman and the renegade combo. which would be best for that style of music? and also, what is the difference between the 1x12 and the 2x12 renegades? I dont think I have enough cash for the 2x12.
@mrnose55q The Statesman would do really well. But the Renegade has the tube mix function so you can get British or American tones, so you could go from Marshally Hendrix sound to haunting clean tones like the Doors. There is only a difference in the speakers, in the 1x12 it has Celestion Elite 80 which is a custom design by Egnater and Celestion. The 2x12 has a Vintage 30 and an Elite 80 to get a blend of the different speakers.
@domdauphin The Renegade can get pretty close to the Rockerverb. Renegade sounds great for palm muted chords.
You can add an OD pedal to boost it a bit, but the Renegade already has a built boost section. Try as many amps as you can and pick the one that gets the sound that is in your head.
In two weeks I'll be driving to Germany to test many amps (Fender, Marshall, Orange, Blackstar and Renegade). In every review I find this amp to be an all-in-one alternative for a Fender and Marshall together. Is that what it is? Or would you rather buy a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and Marshall DSL50? Has it enough gain for the Malmsteen/Govan/Van Halen stuff? Apart from that I mostly play GnR, AC/DC, SRV, Hendrix, ... Maybe saving extra money for an Egnater Tourmaster?
@BartBlackMagic If I were buying a new amp, I would go for the Renegade as it can get Fender and Marshall tones, the tube mix feature is fantastic and very useful, and the power switch down controls help you get an awesome tone at a lower volume.
I tried this amp at guitar center because i'm ready to move on to an all tube amp. Sounds amazing I'm gonna be gettin it within the next two months as soon as I can get up the money!
josh: have you tried both the 212 and the 410? what differences have you noticed? i´m on way getting a renegade but can´t decide if i should go with the 212 or 410.
@bomfunk112 I haven't tried the 410, there is a video on Youtube of the Renegade range at Namm 2010 or 2009 where they run through the differences between the 212 and the 410. Check that one out.
5:10-5:22 and particularly 5:15 completely sold me on this amp. That tone is just insane. I gasp a moan of pleasure every time I hear that clip. Thanks, Josh.
This amp is Insane! just bought the head today and it does just about everything with ease.I'm def a metal head i sold my 6505 stack. and i'm getting into jazz and blues and I've been doing shred forever and this amp kills for everything. def recommended!!!
@F8band I haven't compared the reverb, the Renegade's verb is very crisp as it is digital. The Tourmaster's verb in my opinion is very nice, but I don't use it that much. I mainly use a delay pedal to get warm atmospheric tones.
Thank you so much for playing various styles on this amp and showing how it actually sounds, too often these days you can watch say a guitarworld vid and all they'll do for clean or light overdrive is strum individual notes of a guitar chord, I think this could be the amp for me!
Great timing! I really liked your demo of the Tourmaster but it was a bit too expensive for me.. been reading about this amp for a while now but still haven't ordered it, when I saw this video yesterday I finally made up my mind and tomorrow I'm buying one. Thanks!
what were the settings you used from 7:10 on
Sk8bordr125 1 month ago
@Sk8bordr125 Tube mix leaning more towards the EL-34's. Bass = 1 o'clock, treble = 1 o'clock, mid = 11-12 o'clock, Gain = 2 o'clock, Presence = 11 o'clock, Master 2 = 11-12 o'clock

Can it achieve the same amount of gain as the orange rocker verb 50? I sometimes use a bit of power chords palm muting :P
Or does it takes od pedal very well? Wich on would you add to get that more chugga chugga palm mutes? I'm also looking at Blackstar HT40 and 60!

Sounds like your have a Delay pedal also? or is that the room.
louisianaBluesBoy 9 months ago
@louisianaBluesBoy I wasn't using a delay in this video, it was the reverb from the amp and the room.

is the reverb on the renegade 65 better???

@F8band a cheaper fix would be to use the effects loop...holy grail reverb is nice, bout $150.00 instead on $1,500..00 lol.
