  • I noticed my volume knob on my eq when turning volume up doesnt let left speakers play unless i wiggle it!!

  • @WilkinsChunilall This could be a grounding issue with your speakers. If any bare copper wire touches any part of the chasis of your vehicle, it will cause the speaker to ground out and not play. We would suggest that you double check your connections.

  • @SonicElectronixTV Not my connections everything is crimped and heat sealed. Its actually the Volume knob noticed it when its cold the knob has what you call dirty terminals but instead of it being stiff is loose and wiggles

  • hey brotha HUGE customer, i want to get it but through my research im just confused...my head unit i got from you guys has a 2v pre-amp output...i just wan my sound to be louder and better (i AM running amps for my bass/mids/highs) will this Clarion EQ make my setup sound better out of the box?

  • @muscleammo Yes, this will allow you to adjust 7 bands of frequencies allowing you to customize a sound thats right for you.

  • i have a song head unit , no amp or subs can i buy this and connect?

  • @TopGamingKingz If you aren't using any amplifier, unfortunately this equalizer will probably not benefit your system.

  • I actually purchased my HU/EQ(both Clarion) from you guys and I love it. Check out my sounds on my video "I GOT THIS"

  • @tdavis105us Thanks for being a loyal customer. How is the audio system coming along?

  • @SonicElectronixTV The system is done. I'm actually about doing research on your remote star/car alarms right now. I'm just glad you guys are in business!

  • @tdavis105us Nice, well don't be afraid to ask. I like Viper, AutoPage, Clifford, and Crimestopper for remote start car alarms.

  • @SonicElectronixTV Ok I've returned, lol. Is the AutoPage C3-RS730 LCD (C3-RS730) an ideal item for a car that isn't fuel injected? I find that AutoPage is easier to install.

  • @tdavis105us Unless you have glow plugs and not spark plugs, there will be no issue with installing this alarm system.

  • How do I hook up a Clarion 73 Band graphic Equalizer ????

  • i have the older model with the 30Hz low pass filter, sux lights dont work thou

  • how does the aux imput on this eq work? can You plug an ipod into it?

  • @boltcd Works like a regular aux, it will allow you to switch from different sources. It also adds an extra input which could make up for the lack of an aux input on your radio. Yes you can totally plug your ipod using the aux input on the EQ. You will probably not be able to control the ipod through the radio but you can still control your music directly from your ipod.

  • wats better?Kenwood KGC-4042A,Clarion 7-Band Equalizer (EQS746),Hifonics HFEQ, im building my new system that includes a hifonics brz2400 and a pair of pioneer the 1000rms ones

  • @ChevyGangman323 I would go with the Clarion EQS746, it is easier to adjust, gives you two extra bands, a lower THD, and an Auxiliary input. Its also cheaper than the other two. Second choice would be the Kenwood unit then the Hifonics unit.

  • i just ordered it!! :D

  • * rear channels * not 'read'channels lol sorry!!

Yeah what I meant was where on the head unit do you give the signal to the e.q... Front channels, rear channels, etc.

And if you connect RCA's from the front channel on the h/u to the e.q., wouldn't it not be getting any 'rear' signal ?

Could I adjust the faded on h/u all the way to 'front'? Thanks again!

  • @HAMMERxHCA We recommend that you use the front RCA outputs on your head-unit going into the equalizer. Do not fade the music in any direction, because when you have it set at 0 it will provide equal voltage across all channels. The rear channels are in almost all cases simply a duplicate of the front channels so there shouldn't be a difference in the signal.

  • Hey I have a couple questions on installing this (or any other e.q.). First off, how do I connect my headunit to the e.q., do I run the rca's from the deck's front channels? Read channels?

Second, what do I do with the e.q. settings on the headunit and on my amps? Do I leave them flat (on zero)? The settings like gain, hpf, lpf, subsonic, bass boost, etc.., how would I deal with them?

Thanks a bunch for any info on those questions !!

  • @HAMMERxHCA You will need to run your RCA's for the front speakers (from the head-unit) into the equalizer, and use the RCA outputs on the EQ as needed. Be sure to set all of your settings flat and slowly tune it to your liking from there. For information on properly setting your gains, you may search our website for the article "How to Tune and Adjust Amplifier Gains and Bass Boost". Please let us know if you have any other questions!

  • Im Really considering buying this but I have just 1 doubt, Given the Fact that my HU only sends 2V on the Pre-Amp Outputs when they come into the Clarion how its capable of giving 7V out of the 2V Signal? The Clarion Amplifies the Signal into 7V without a loss in Clarity? Thats All!!! Thanks for Any Feedback guys...

  • @skirmich If you set the equalizer to produce a 4-5 volt signal instead of the maximum 7 volt signal you will get the best sound quality out of it. This equalizer takes the signal coming out of your head unit and amplifies it with very minuscule loss of quality.

  • ok so im buying this but I have questions. How would I set my amp gains if I have this in the signal path. Im assuming you would go 3/4 on the HU, 3/4 on the EQ, then set your gains. See im going to use the pot on the EQ for controlling my volume and not use the HU for that. Also the amp for my mids and highs also has eq/tone controls. Would I just leave those at 0 or does the clarion override that? Also what would I leave my crossovers at on my mid-high amp? All the way up?

  • @imjustakid22 It sounds like you have quite a few questions about your audio installation. You are more then welcome to give us a call at 1(877)289-7664 and ask to speak to one of our Techs and they would be more then happy to answer any question you may have,

  • Hey sonicelectronic does the eq has to have a mids and high amp to be able to use the eq mid and high knobs?

  • @bezzyx4 Yes. You'll need an amplifier connected to the equalizers outputs to be able to control the frequencies for the mids and highs.

  • Hey, I noticed the preamp voltage on this particular EQ is 7 volt. My HU preamp voltage is 2.2v. will the extra voltage help with my amps producing cleaner power? Which in theory will sound louder, to the ear of course.

  • @Schism1000 everything you said is correct.

  • Does any one know if i get this do i need to buy a epicenter or is dis enough to give more power to my bass..ok dis is my beat right now i have a brutus hifonics 2000.1 mono block amp and a my sub is 1 polk audio sr124 svc.i plan to get another sub jus to expinsive.and a pioneer deck.what else do i need.

  • @Kintosol89 An epicenter might help, as it is for a completely different function. It depends on what you're after. If you're interested in picking up another Polk Audio SR124, that would be a loud setup and would perform very well. This equalizer will allow you to increase or decrease how loud different frequencies play on your system. An epiceneter is designed to basically give you more bass by enhancing the bass on your recordings. Also consider the RE Audio VLS-1 as a lower cost option.

  • Biggest issue with this thing is the simple fact that you only have one input. There isn't a full on high pass setting for your Mid range, so you would have to either run your subwoofer amp bypassing this EQ, or have a high pass setting on your amplifier IF it even has one. If you turn on your headunits high pass, since theres only one input on this EQ, you have nothing going to your subwoofer if plugged up from the EQ obviously. Not a very flexible EQ because of that simple flaw.

  • @tatsumaru12345 This equalizer having one set of inputs is actually one of it's benefits. This EQ doesn't require you to have multiple preamps on your stereo, so let's say that you have an aftermarket stereo with only one preamp out, or a factory stereo with just speaker leads. This way you can get control over your low, mids and highs even with only one output on a stereo. You won't find many EQ's with 3 pair's of inputs that are under $300, the EQS746 is designed for different applications.

  • @SonicElectronixTV But theres not a fully adjustable high or low pass filter on this equalizer- so having one input means you basically can't use any of your headunits filter settings. Now, theres not many equalizers with an adjustable high pass filter.Though most people buying this EQ probably aren't buying high end mid-woofers than can handle high amounts of power at 60-80hz, or buying an amp with a high pass built in.Can't just turn down the low setting, as it'd effect your subwoofer as well.

  • i have this eq but for whatever reason the light's don't work but other wise works great is there a way where i can get to light up again

  • i <3 u sonic fuck best buy

  • hey sonic electronix i have a question... should i get a epicenter or this eq? i want to add bass to my music but i also want it to sound good? does this eq add bass? thanks... you guys have the best prices on everything!!!

  • @fernando5413 An equalizer will help with adjusting your frequencies, but it won't add any additional wattage to your system. The best way to get more bass into your system is to increase the wattage to your speakers or by adding a subwoofer to your vehicle. If you just want to add a little extra punch without breaking the bank, you should replace your factory stereo with an aftermarket radio to get some increased wattage to your speakers.

  • love sonix electronix ordered my whole car audio system off your website and never had a problem with it

  • whats the whole point of having one of these ? and how about if u dont knw how to adjust the hz and everything cause all i have right knw is just a bass knob soo i dont think i need this

  • Comment removed

  • Oh man,, i think my 746 is fake,..cant remember where i bought it from. but all i know is my lower frequencies are turned all the way up, and the last 2 high freqs as well. It's just not wat expect compared to my cheapo 5 band eq. .. is there any other way to check the authenticity? Is it *that* much different from a 5 band?

  • what about engine noise?

  • @crescentfallen99 i've heard they do something for that but idk im looking in to buy one of these because my 6x9's are full of engine noise

  • @boredezfuhhh this unit got rid of all engine noise, whine etc I am happy I got this unit

  • @crescentfallen99 thank you alot man i wouldnt have known what to do im 16 so yeah

  • which equalizer is better this one featured in the video or the Soundstream MPQ-7XO i would like to know the difference you guys have these products can you guys explain thanks for good service i am gonna order one of the equalizers from you guys i just need these answers

  • @xSinaloaHD The MPQ-7XO has different functionality. It has a higher bass boost setting which is not always a good thing, as it's just a gateway to add distortion into your bass which leads to blowing speakers. I'd definitely recommend the Clarion EQS746 because it will have more solid internals and better signal processing.

  • So, how much is something like this?

  • @SergeantPope As of right now, these equalizers are selling on our website for $59.99. Keep in mind pricing is always subject to change.

  • @SergeantPope well the msrp is 149.99 on this unit

  • how do you install

  • Using and equalizer what is the different sound you get is it just like a standard equalizer that you can find on your computer or it is specifically designed for car audio, and do you more then just what is found on your head unit example... bass and treble??

  • hey i want to buy me one of these but do i need a credito card?cuz i could get amoney order but please let me now how i could get one

  • @kylekeats you run it from ur Amp to the EQ

  • just bought one too

  • i love this eq it is awsome

  • Just bought one from you guys :)

  • That's what we love to hear!! Once you get it all connected, let us know what you think and where you installed it.

  • @SonicElectronixTV im prolly goin to get one and install it in my home

  • this eq is insane good to buy

  • I have this eq and its great!!

  • I got it too, wish the 50Hz was like 35Hz but its pretty clean

  • I have this EQ in my room and it works awesome. Definitely a good buy.

  • what do you use it for in your room...?

  • I have a Pioneer DEH-P4000UB headunit, with a soundstorm force 800w 4 channel amp. 2 clarion 6x9 3 way, 2 mtx 6 1/2 3 way and 2 clarion 5 1/4 2 way speakers and of course the clarion EQS746. All this is connected to a Radioshack 25amp switching power supply =)

  • This EQ works awesome for the money, I had it hooked up to my subs and speakers and it made them sound so much better. The extra voltage really helps!

  • I've been a longtime advocate for the EQS
