  • oh, my gosh!!

Who's the man responsible for the seductive voice of that computer?

i melted when he just spoke once

    <3

  • Lol, all of that 'cutting edge of technology' wouldn't even FIT in my dorm. xD

  • Comment removed

  • Toaster can't read? Not that I blame him, or her. He, or she, is an appliance. An inanimate object. And anything inanimate can't do anything people can.

  • A113!!!!!!! like if your a disney/pixar fan and you know this number

  • I'm pretty sure they're in Los Angeles, since that's one of the places in which they worked on this movie.

  • How arewe going to find the MASTER in this big PLACE!

  • Soooo what exactly is that purple lamp made of? :D Should ceramic really be able to show skin folds?

  • Computer: Naturally, WE are on the cutting edge of technology.

    IPad: Bitch puh-lease!

  • Who keeps pictures of themselves and not their family in frames?

  • wait i dont get it... wasnt he young when he moved away from the house in the country? the appliances never had flashbacks with him older did they? im so confused i feel like i missed something XD

  • @deadkittens3

No. They remember him as a kid. He moved away from the house when he was young. Years passed at that house and the master grew up.

  • "Naturally, we are the cutting-edge of technology."

Pfft... you wouldn't say now, huh? I bet my laptop, ps3, phone and mp3 would kick all your asses! xD

  • A113! The office where Pixar originated! They hide it in all the Pixar films, it's cool John Lasseter and crew hid it here!!!

  • @KmorrisonNCC1701 well that's to be expected since Joe Ranft helped make this movie. It's just that might or might not have been as intentional as it is in Toy Story.

  • 4:00- 4:21 kills me!!

"There was a shot! A puff of smoke: we raaaan like the dickens! ..And that's how we got here."

  • those new house items are total dicks >:(

  • It dosen't matter, they didn't know. TheHomp.

  • WTF did the Toy Story movies borrow everything from this movie?!

A dude who dismembers conscious objects? Check.

A bunch of "inanimate" objects who exist for one person alone? Check.

A kid going off to college? Check.

A near death experience where they all accept their demise? Check.

An ending in a dump? Check.

    Surprisingly dark overal themes? Check.

I mean I know Lasseter worked on this movie but sheesh.

  • @MrTodd623 I didn't see Lasseter in the opening credits but I did see Ranft. I can see all the parallels you are making in toy story but you also have to remember that only people my age would have remembered it at least when it was aired on the Disney Channel.

  • lol she drives him?

  • That sewing machine it's like a two Jersey housewives got stuck inside an appliance

  • @exposed97 Well, John Lasseter (Directer of Toy Story and co-founder of Pixar) did storyboard the film, and get fired from Disney for suggesting using CG backgrounds with hand-animated characters in the film.

  • @exposed97 it is... but its still classic

  • 4:58 those fake ass bi.....

  • 3:10 Wait, stand aside my what!?

  • @Waxer3929 meager companion lol

  • @brwebb21 Oh, of course. I need to get my mind out of the gutter lol.

  • 4:40-5:15 LOL

  • 0:23 The photo is missing the bite marks from the rat.

  • 2:42, another A113 reference :D./

  • 3:15-3:20, one of the best radio moments

  • Anyone out there speak Spanish?

  • @jvfunn3000

Starts off with "Nancy, el perro y dos agentes del servicio secreto fueron capturado ..." but I lose track when the English dialogue overlaps it. According to Google Translate: "Nancy, the dog and two Secret Service agents were caught..."

  • @ApisFuria aww, so it's not about the dog who traveled thousands of miles.

  • @ApisFuria I was looking specifically for a comment translating that! I was wondering if something naughty was being said. XD Wow thx!

  • @halfdude No problem, glad to help a fellow curious person :P My Spanish isn't fluent so be warned that I may have made a mistake, but what I posted is definitely what I hear.

  • i loled at the cutting edge technology part

  • Anyone bother to look at what's in the phone book at 2:12? :D

  • @3:24 "Hiya pal!" AHHHHHHHH

  • It's actually pretty funny seeing the "cutting edge" and "modern" appliances of 1987, big, chunky, old "pixel" computers. MODERN

  • 5 People still consider 1987 appliances "modern"!

  • that computer is tight

  • @The Honp plus, if they hadn't left, we wouldn't have had this awesome movie to watch :)

  • Oh god! The pink sewing machine! As a kid I never saw the "pressure foot" the same ever again. I remember always saying that it was the mouth in TBLT.

  • "cutting edge of technology" wtf I never saw the likes of such obsolete "cutting edge technology"....

  • That purple lamp is not only a major a**hole, he IS Major A**hole (Spaceballs).

  • I didn't know Bambi was in the phone book.

  • @ExplorerDS6789 Yeah. "Bambi Deer" to be exact, along with White Snow, Flying Elephant, Puppet Wooden, Pan Peter, Radio Loud, Lamp Bright, Bear Black, Missourri River, Dakota North, and Carolina South. LOL! I love the little things animators will hide in their movies. Gotta love those people.

  • @AslansButterfly Well, they could have put all the cast and crew members' names in there instead, but I guess this was more original.

  • This movie reminds me of Toy Story 3.....

    Talking/moving inanimate objects.

Both have a "master" who's going to college.

And they both go on an adventure to get back to their "master".

  • @pokemongirl27 and they nearly die at the hands of a sadist in a junk yard.

  • @pokemongirl27 Not to mention that they end up in a junkyard about to be destroyed - "at least we're all going together"....yeah lol. I wonder if the Pixar peeps drew some inspiration from this movie....

  • 4:39 sounds like my Mom and her Sister at every family get together lmao!!

  • Dude, the guy's girlfriend looks EXACTLY like the girl from Zombies ate My neighbors.

    Google it.

  • Computer: Naturaly, WE are on the cutting edge of technology.

    Not anymore freak.

  • check them phonebook names PAN PETER, FLYING ELEPHANT. LOL

  • I was actually like. ARGH FUCK RQ, when he said he was going back to the cabin to get his old appliances. FUCK.

  • everyone knows that computer was destroyed years ago lol...

  • wow... a radio that can break locks...? I WANT ONE OF THOSE!!!

  • 3:12.. my nigger companion? o.O

  • OMG! The # of the door number is A113, which is the Pixars main designer who had a old design room in college and its the same number. He put it in toy story 1-3. Wow. Thats a great easter egg

  • 2:10 555 2209: Toaster Brave?

    Yellow Blankey?

    XD

  • "Somebody really trashed the WHOLE cottage!" the fridge and air condition is broken. Everything else is PERFECT.

  • @PumpkinRain LOL I know right! I was thinking the same thing....

  • @PumpkinRain Well there's also the pogo stick, the mattress near the stairs as well as the burned-out AC.

  • I like how NO ONE IS WALKING AROUND IN THE CITY!

Must be a futuristic utopia or something.

  • "Nancy the dog" and two agents of the secret service were caught in the act of smuggling illicit contraband into the senate.

  • Is the sly computer at 4:27 a Macintosh? Like an Apple 2?

  • at 4:44 - 4:48 ish does the sewing machine say "its like a fuckin old.. something something" ?? or is it just me?

  • @babycone530 Looks like an old diapersomething is what I got

  • The TV character is my hero. :) His voice always made him sound like a great friend. Voiced by Jonathan Benair who sadly died in 1998 from a heart attack and cerebral hemorrhage. Sad news for a movie historian and lovable voice actor.

  • I hate that snarky-ass purple lamp.

  • @TasselledWobbegong How about A.C. Spaz?

  • Some interesting names in that phone book. Young Master, Brave Toaster, Yellow Blanket, Loud Radio, Gruff Vacuum, Bright Lamp...

  • 2:04 Pretty dead looking city. Would explain why no one bats an eye at the traveling band of electronics.

    7:01 AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Haaa....

  • I find it interesting that TDK makes a spot appearance at 2:03...considering the company is a huge producer of electrical circuits and capacitors, maybe they were targeting appliances in this movie lol...

  • Wait a minute. A story about alive inanimate objects looking for their lost owner who's going off to college?

    Sounds a tad familiar. ;)

  • love how the radio keeps gettin' away with smackin' them all the time. XD

  • 3:25 - 3:35 xD ha ha ha

  • "Hey Pluggsy,... yeah?" ha ha ha

  • mabye Pixar will do a re-make of this movie. Who knows???

  • I find it rather symbolic that the master has been gone for so long, and then once the pessimistic AC dies, he comes back....a bit late yes..... but he came back. a bit ironic, isn't it? Oh btw someone on one of the earlier parts said the AC committed suicide but i just think he got worked up and had like, the appliance equivalent of a heart attack. What do you guys think? Seriously please respond because that just injured my childhood.

  • @FluffyPuff16 Lol i dont think the AC died xD he just got overheated and blew. something a few repairs could fix anyway. apparently.

  • the new appliances are mean

  • None of the humans hear the musical numbers going on in the other room?

  • Notice that the lamp is the only one who can read?

  • There's one thing I still don't get... Isn't Rob's mother home while they're all jumping around singing "Cutting Edge"...? Hmm...

  • So the arrow points to a hotdog that some lady is walking on. WTF is with the signs.

  • That guy is John Lasseter as a College Freshman!

  • @ThomasDeCosteTV XD!!! Kinda looks like like! Only he has red hair instead of brown.

  • If I didn't know better, I'd say this movie took place in New York.

  • Hahaha...look at those retro computers claiming to be on the cutting edge of technology.

  • @DJstoopnig lol i kno right XD

  • Why the fuck would that lamp answer the door. What if that was a person who knocked, he'd be screwed.

  • @MrGinsburg He knew it was the secret aplliance knock so he opened the door.

  • Comment removed

  • I guess this is where "They grow up so fast!" comes in...

  • Oh god, if those appliances waited TWO GODDAMN DAYS everything would have been solved!

  • @TheHonp And there would be no (insert your favorite swear word) movie.

  • @TheHonp Then you wouldn't have a movie to make money off of.

  • @TheHonp OMFG!!!! I KNOWWWWWWWWWW!!!

  • @TheHonp I think if the appliances found out, all but Toaster would freak out. Lampy, Radio and Kirby would start pointing fingers, or plugs, Blanky would break down in tears, the newer appliances would laugh like crazy, but then Toaster would calm them down and say they would simply wait for Master's return.

  • @TheHonp You're right but they needed the journey.

  • @TheHonp Yeah but they wouldn't have known that and so they could have been waiting for forever :(

  • @TheHonp

But then there would be no movie.

  • That computer's voice is whoa totally seductive.

  • In the phonebook, it says Young Master several times. Who's the Young Master? Ling Yao?

  • When you think about it the other appliances have a right to be jealous and work to prove they are more advanced. but prob everyone would agree that no matter how many yrs they spent with the master while he grew up they can never replace those 5 that were a huge cornerstone in his childhood.

  • here's a thought, If the Blanket, with his childish mind, reunite with the master what's gonna happen when he hears or sees master getting busy with college sluts.

  • So, the entertainment system? "He's taking some...junk instead of us"

That guy works as a Weta animator, and was one of the prinicpal animation directors on Gollum.

  • i betcha like all the main dudes from basically every major animation company used to burn down some serious trees in room A-113. haha but really, take a look at some of the scenes in this movie and try to tell me that they werent somewhat inspired by some sort of entheogen.

  • no afence but this movie is prolly part of the reason why the show "Horders" was created XD haha

  • Heres some fun trivia

The Apt #A113 was used in Cars, it first appeared as the locomotives identification number, when it almost hit McQueen, then it appeared as Maters License plate number.

  • @ColumbiaAndHoodRiver Considering that movie was dedicated to Ranft, it doesn't surprise me that they'd sneak stuff like that in.

  • Hmm.. Their owners grown up, Going to collage, Abandoned stuff from his childhood searching for him. I think I know where Toy Story 3 got its ideas

  • @galloway6204 Is that it, or do you think Pixar copied them?

  • @galloway6204 alot of the ones who worked on this film are involved with pixar too this was i guess like a blue print on things to come i guess like the singing cars in this movie remind you of any other talking cars ;) and look at the masters apartment door says "A113" :P

  • 3:47 uh...creepy much...and wtf that computer has like a creepy pedo face going on...or like...idk it's creepy xD

  • can anyone explain to me whats up with blanket's face?

  • @reeses3081 it's an electric blanket. it has a knob to warm itself up. that's its nose

  • *GASP* A113!!!! =O

I thought that was just a Pixar/Disney joke!!! OMYGOSH!!!

  • @Freakingepicness It's an inside joke for the design class room at some art school in so cal. the room number is A-113

  • @lilnatcoles yah i know i just have never seen it in any other movies other than pixar or disney ones before! =D

  • Ew, what the hell with the Fran Drescher-conjoined-twin sewing machine?

  • i love the entertainment center ....i guess because we couldn't afford one at the time this came out .. -_-.. and the computer *does* sound like HAL

  • TV: He just left a little while ago to drive out to the cott-

TV (Translated) : ... Nancy the dog and 2 agents of the secret service were captured trying to smuggle contra-bands....

  • @DJxRaichu Interesting what was said there.

  • does anyone else think that appliances with 2 faces are really creepy?

each one should have 1 face

  • He looks like a red-haired AVGN.

  • I Wanna call yellow blankey!!! 555-9669 :D

  • 1:20.

What the hell is that thing?

  • @Chocosizzles i think that was the ''modern'' computer tower for the 80's

  • @Chocosizzles I think it looked like a sound system from the looks of the monitor and the sliders.

  • @Elenkeon It's certainly more akin to what I remember seeing out of catalogs a quarter-century ago. Often you had the TV/Stereo combo thingy getting displayed like a tower back then as opposed to the more home theater approach today.

  • I'm diggin' these phone book names xD

  • Lol's at the phone book at 2:11 yello blankey 555 9669, Vacuum Bruff, bambi deer, toaster brave, flying elephant XD wow I wonder who those ppl are XD

  • @zadose I never noticed that! XD LOL That is too funny!

  • around like, 1:02, i was like FAIL bahahaha

  • 7:05

"We are on the cutting edge of technology."

I can understand the COM-PUTER and Entertainment system, but the dopey-looking and brainless purple lamp is on the cutting edge of technology?

Lampy looks younger than that stupid purple pile of porcelain.

  • of course lampy know s how to read XD

  • Who the hell tiles their bedroom?

  • @blue1085 nerds...

  • 2:13 Vacuum Gruff, Bambi Deer, Flying Elephant, White Snow, Puppet Wooden, Pan Peter, Lamp Bright, Mache Paper, etc. XD

  • A113 appeared in Wall-e as the code for AUTO's over-ride code. And in this movie it's the master's apartment room. Also, what if Wall-e met the toaster gang when he's building those trash towers? That would be cool. P.S. if that happened, AUTO would kill Wall-e and Toaster.

  • @ShadowofBlackDeath Ummmm, and why exactly would that happen? O.o

  • @InvaderZim897 Maybe like the master had to dump the five for some money and they were left in the mountains of junk. 700 years later Wall-e finds them and the plot is modified.

  • @ShadowofBlackDeath Hm. That actually sounds like it could potentially at least make a neat fanfiction. But what I meant was, why would AUTO automatically win just because of the Brave Little Toaster gang being present? The "AUTO would kill Wall-E and Toaster" just seemed so... random.

  • @InvaderZim897 I don't really know why I said that, actually. Probably cause I just don't like happy ending like in all current Disney movies.

  • @ShadowofBlackDeath Hm... I don't mind happy endings, and for things like this and Wall-E, I like them. Though, endings that are bittersweet tend to stick with me more, like Toy Story 3. What'd you think of that ending?

  • @InvaderZim897 I didn't see TS 3, but I did hear that it was good. Oh yeah, the reason I said that AUTO would kill Wall-e and toaster because in that movie Wall-e dies by holding up the module, so I thought that Toaster would go and help him, but eventually BOTH would get crushed. Do you see what I mean? (not being hostile)

  • @ShadowofBlackDeath Yeah, I guess, but then again, WALL-E survived that, and Toaster had a very similar injury that he also survived.

  • @ShadowofBlackDeath A113 appears in heaps of movies and TV shows

its an inside joke of Pixar's now, but it crops up in disney movies sometimes

  • Okay theres Yellow blankey Master young (thats the master i bet) Pan Peter Lamp Bright

  • "A113" Is an in-joke around PIXAR and it appears somewhere in all of their films. Just proves that some of the people who now work at PIXAR worked on this film. No wonder it's so good :D

  • quite a sad thing that all these old things fid out there now out dated and there are new things

  • is it a bad thing for the sewing machine to remind you of your GF?

  • Comment removed

  • OMG som eof the telephone directory names: master young (young master) radio loud (loud radio) pan peter (peter pan) yellow blankey vacuum Gruff (gruff vacuum) star word (star wars) toaster brave (tblt) puppet wooden (pinochio?) bear black (black bear) flying elephant (Dumbo) mache paper (stangely paper mache) york new (new york) dacota north (and many other sates)

  • @MrEspinosa42 something like that ;)

  • man now im afraid to go and buy a new microwave o.o

  • I noticed in the phonebook it says Toaster Brave, Yellow Blankey, Vacumm Gruff, Pan Peter, Lamp Bright. lol Gotta love Easter eggs.

  • its like toy story b4 toy story

  • Some of the names in the phone book:

    Master Young Bambi Deer

    Toaster Brave Flying Elephant

    Yellow Blankey Pan Peter

    Radio Loud Puppet Wooden

    Vacuum Gruff Lamp Bright

    White Snow

  • @whiteash002 There are also a lot of state names, but written as 'York New' and 'Carolina South'.

  • Trivia: AII3 is the room number for the graphics design classroom at Cal arts. Where the film's Co-Writer and Co-Directing Animator Joe Ranft studied at. It has been used as an inside joke not just in this film but also in just about every Pixar Film where Joe Ranft also worked. Many other great animators studied there too. I know I'm such a geek for knowing all that.

  • Lol, "cutting edge"...

I wonder what the computer would say if it knew I would be typing this comment from my PS3 two decades later.

My Ipod laughs at the 80's cutting edge technology lol.

  • @Winnersdonthavecows and two decades from now it will be the same

  • In toy story the licence plate # is a113 so tripy

  • 1:00 SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTT!!! Poor toaster and the others, all that work, seeing the blender and the AC Die, for nothing, atleast we got a cool movie.
