@LtDanw It's only called the Sega Genesis in the US because of trademark issues so they couldn't call it the Megadrive in the US so they named it Genesis. Hi all, could anybody tell me what's the name of a game i palyed on my SEGA: It's about kinnda some kids fighting in a pair, meaning 4 peaople fighting. Were diffrent themes like where the walls were electricity, the end you had to fight kinda like a cat or lion or tigre masks fighters, they are strong they kinda fly when tey hit you but if you finish the game like beat them you run on a long field :D Thank you for your help :D If someone knows please :D
can anybody tell me this? i am 13 no and when i was 4-6 im not sure when i used to play ona sega genesis and i remember a street fighter game or similar where you were able to walk down the street, first level out in an alley there is a boss with boxing gloves the next area was a bar type thing with a boss thats a girl with a whip, i'm not really sure what levels/boss/areas are after that, but if anybody knows what im talking about can you help?
@Wowcrazy247 I noticed a few people saying it was Streets Of Rage that you were after, which isn't strictly true. Just thought it was worth confirming that its actually Streets of Rage 2 that you were describing.
@fatmouth007 Anytime I play against CPU Balrog, he charge-punches across the screen four or five times in a row in the same span of time that it would normally take me to charge one punch. Capcom should have fixed it before release, but I suppose it's just one of the quirks that make the game unique.
@Wyldephang It was done intentionally, you have to remember that this is a straight port of the arcade version and the arcade version was made unfairly difficult intentionally to make money.
@fatmouth007 I know!!! I can pass anyone else besides guile, I jump, he flash kicks, I get close to him, sonic boom. the problem is my favorite character is zangief and he doesnt have any projectile moves.
Hyper Street Fighter II: Anniversary Edition, maybe. Basically you can select any arcade version of a character. You want World Warrior Ken vs Super Turbo Ryu? Hyper Fighting Chun Li vs Champion Edition Guile? It even lets you choose multiple iterations of the soundtrack. Get yourself a good arcade stick and you're set to experience the history of Street Fighter II.
Remember being jealous that all my friends with the SNES had SF2 turbo and I had Cyborg Justice (and later, Cosmic Carnage) - and when SF finally came to the genesis, it was available for the launch price of 80 bucks at KB Toys. @DoctorTopper lol! That tends to happen, when you play it for the first time, and max out the difficult. Just keep it on medium setting for the first few times, I didn't think it was that hard at all.
@leon102 Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting doesn't have a medium difficulty, so maybe that is why I couldn't win a single round without mastering it first.
Seriously, who makes a video game where you need to be an expert BEFORE the first stage.
@DoctorTopper You mean the arcade version? In the console versions, medium would be four out of eight stars. For the arcade versions they want it to be super hard, so that you keep putting in more coins to play and master the game. But with an emulator it doesn't matter, since you play for free.
@DoctorTopper So, it's on virtual console. Well, they upload console and arcade games now, so is it for genesis snes? I know it's on there, but I downloaded the new challengers one.
@leon102 I'm pretty sure that its SNES. There is stars for speed settings on Turbo mode, and there is no Sega version of Hyper Fighting. Only Championship Edition.
@leon102 Okay, yeah. The difficulty setting is under OPTION. Did you not check that? It's set to medium (4 out of 8 stars) by default though. If you were fighting Ryu or Ken, they are pretty hard re-guardless, of what diff. you set them to. Cause they have such great spam attacks, and counters if you jump over their spamming hodokens.
I mention this a lot, but it bears repeating. The Genesis Champion Edition is in fact a port of Hyper Fighting. That's actually why they called it "Special Champion Edition". I suspect Nintendo had Capcom under some contract not to publish Turbo on other systems, so this is the way they worked around that.
The mouth breather narrating this sounds like a foaming retard you'd see at a football game sitting with his mother - "DAI OWN ALL DAI PLAYERS JERSEYS YAYYYYYY"

dude amen to that part about the better the game the worse the movie my favorite street fighter at the moment is street fighter alpha 3 max for psp its just so much street fighter such a little console i dont like sf4
I/m sorry Mark, but this is one of the worse ports of the game. Unfortunately the sega just didnt have the capability to do this game justice. Does the game work sure, however it is lacking the full deepth of colors and the sound is just terrible.
To be fair, none of the 16-bit ports had the same level of colors, resolution, sound FX, or music compared to the arcade. Which, according to your view, renders them incapable of doing the game justice.
@Bruiz54 Like dunnon said. Except with the 6 button controller, the Genesis port's gameplay far exceeded that of the SNES's. And gameplay, ultimately, is the most important factor to a game (although the music in the genesis version was really good IMO). All in all, this was a pretty good translation although the later port of SF2: The New Challengers was even better.
@lancerCNCS1 I played all three of the games and yes I did like that initially you could play more characters on the Genisis port but I think gamely on both titles was good however i really hated the bad voices and sounds. I just think the she's was closer to the arcade and correct me if I'm wrong didn't the snes one come out before the saga one.
Make sure to play it on "Hyper" mode though, and choose "4 or 5 stars" as the game speed I'd recommend! :-)
"Hyper" mode is basically the equivalent of "Turbo" mode for the SNES, where you have extra moves for the fighters, for example, both Ryu and Ken can do the spinning kick move whilst in mid-air in both directions! :-D
U FORGOT ZERO!!!! TOO MANY MODS! Makes yu think am I playing a fighting game or an algebraic equation??? i.e. Street Fighter Alpha 2 Hyper Mega Turbo Zero??? WHAT A SHIT MOVIE IT WAS TO BECOME A MOVIE FROM A GAME TO A MOVIE TO A GAME AHHHH JEEZZZ!!!!! :(
Am I wrong in sayin that the JCVD Film is not an adaptation of Street Fighter 2? But there is an animated film callled Street Fighter 2 the animated movie which is quality and is a direct follow on from the first game
love the PIT FIGHTER comment at 7:00 now that i think about it, i would like to see a PIT FIGHTER movie MOVIE of the damn thing XD. and i acctually like the GENESIS version of that game. because the INTROs have AWESOME training music lol
great video dude ..... the MegaDrive version is actually my favourite version of Street Fighter II .... it's also the only home console version (discounting home computers like Amiga/ST/PC) to have the proper intro with the two guys at the bottom of the building ..... this really does make it feel more like the arcade, along with the excellent game play (especially if you use a 6-button pad)
Street Fighter II will always be a million times better than Mortal Kombat!
The main audio processor used for the Genesis is the Motorola 68000. The voices are defined by FM parameters. Both the CPS1 and Genesis hardware are both based on FM synthesis, so the music that was ported to the Genesis was nearly arcade quality. The Genesis has less sound channels than the CPS1, so some effects had been left out. Through some clever programing, Capcom split the one audio channel used for sample based audio in two, though the voices became lower in quality because of that.
@TheThrashAnvil And you, my friend, are what's commonly known as a faggot loser with enough time on their hands to actually dig through, find, and reply to a comment I made 3 months ago.
Actually, people who do that aren't commonly known as "faggots", in fact I don't think any group of people should be commonly known as "faggots" and it's a rather pathetic insult.
Time on my hands? I was watching Mark's review and I noticed a lot of people had responded to some comment by you, so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. Your comment was so prizewillingly laughable I just had to respond.
Ah, the last escape of somebody who just realized his opponent is more clever than himself.
You are... A clown. Yes, that's the best word, clown. But you're a profoundly unfunny clown that has to fake his enthusiasm when dousing kids with spray can water on stage. Sort of like Krusty from the simpsons!
Now, I await another weak ad hominem for a reply. You see, people like you are too predictable. It's no fun anymore.
hey man why dont you two just stop im not hating on you and angryellow but its abit pathetic you two argueing over one comment and doing it on the internet where some people dont even know who each other are so if your old enough to understand this just stop
hey man why dont you two just stop im not hating on you and thethrashanvil but its abit pathetic you two argueing over one comment and doing it on the internet where some people dont even know who each other are so if your old enough to understand this just stop
In fact, I don't think it shows a flaw in my character at all, but the original comment shows a bit of a flaw in yours, not that i'd like to judge too quickly being that we are on the internet.
Anybody use a Power Plug on this game? I did and E. Honda's arm was frozen, yet still did damage. And Chun Li stopped moving her leg, but still damage. What's faster than Turbo? Hyper? No, frozen stiff.
@idjoemama totally disagree, i think the snes controller is waaaay better, as is the sound quality on snes version of street fighter, they sound like they're underwater on the genesis, tpliger! lol
In the 4th gen yes, but the Saturn version of SSF2 Turbo rendered every other console port pointless imo.
But guess what, If you were European (like me), you were screwed and stuck with the PS1 version. Solid D-pad and all, but damn, the shoulder buttons are balls for whipping out the heavy attacks.
For some dumb reason I owned both Special Championship Edition for Megadrive (Genesis) and Turbo for SNES. I remember A/Bing each version and the SNES version had better sound quality and *slightly* better graphics.
I think it's safe to assume Special Champion Edition is basically the Genesis' version of Turbo. It does have the variable speed settings, up to 10 or 11 stars.
Street Fighter 2 The Word Warrior.. was my first beat em up. In my young jears, i hate this game.. i ever loose.. now i beat it easy. :) (( on the snes)) I prefer the "the new challenger" version on the snes and i like the movie.. but only of an .. ...call it Parody way. ^^ Its funny to see and the end was great, as everybody makes his gamepose. ^^
why at some places it is called Sega Genesis and other Sega Megadrive? what's the Megadrive 2 then? - please help!

"Hyper" mode is basically the equivalent of "Turbo" mode for the SNES, where you have extra moves for the fighters, for example, both Ryu and Ken can do the spinning kick move whilst in mid-air in both directions! :-D

Indeed, the possibilities are endless.
This is why the mario bros movie was bad, it makes perfect sense.
But wait, no!
I will disprove your theory mark, Bloodrayne was a bad game, with a bad movie!

love the PIT FIGHTER comment at 7:00 now that i think about it, i would like to see a PIT FIGHTER movie MOVIE of the damn thing XD. and i acctually like the GENESIS version of that game. because the INTROs have AWESOME training music lol
Tphras12 1 year ago
great video dude ..... the MegaDrive version is actually my favourite version of Street Fighter II .... it's also the only home console version (discounting home computers like Amiga/ST/PC) to have the proper intro with the two guys at the bottom of the building ..... this really does make it feel more like the arcade, along with the excellent game play (especially if you use a 6-button pad)

@angryellow313

In fact, I don't think it shows a flaw in my character at all, but the original comment shows a bit of a flaw in yours, not that i'd like to judge too quickly being that we are on the internet.

I agree, the film was a fail, ken looked like a retired old man with a bad back. And Deejay and Zangief somehow work for bison? Fail movie (=

And get this, Ken was TALLER than Sagat, what's that shit about?
Vin Diesel should've played him.
Raul Julia did an awesome job with Bison though.

Anybody use a Power Plug on this game? I did and E. Honda's arm was frozen, yet still did damage. And Chun Li stopped moving her leg, but still damage. What's faster than Turbo? Hyper? No, frozen stiff.

when it comes to street fighter, genesis wins for its controller.
idjoemama 2 years ago
@idjoemama totally disagree, i think the snes controller is waaaay better, as is the sound quality on snes version of street fighter, they sound like they're underwater on the genesis, tpliger! lol
mtlaw007 2 years ago
In the 4th gen yes, but the Saturn version of SSF2 Turbo rendered every other console port pointless imo.
But guess what, If you were European (like me), you were screwed and stuck with the PS1 version. Solid D-pad and all, but damn, the shoulder buttons are balls for whipping out the heavy attacks.
strykah92 1 year ago
For some dumb reason I owned both Special Championship Edition for Megadrive (Genesis) and Turbo for SNES. I remember A/Bing each version and the SNES version had better sound quality and *slightly* better graphics.
Stylus1997 2 years ago 3
Sega version looks a lot smoother. My snes SF2 turbo suffers huge lag when fighting Ryu or Ken...
OldVikingSchool 2 years ago
@OldVikingSchool
They never released Turbo on Gensis, so, laggy snes is all you can play Turbo on.
ShinobiXRevived 2 years ago
I think it's safe to assume Special Champion Edition is basically the Genesis' version of Turbo. It does have the variable speed settings, up to 10 or 11 stars.
dunnono00 1 year ago
@dunnono00
Is that a joke? Turbo has supers and more characters and better graphics they're completely different games.
ShinobiXRevived 1 year ago
What you're describing is Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, which was never released on Genesis or SNES.
dunnono00 1 year ago
Have you even played this version it DOES have Turbo mode on with the Turbo moves like Chun Li's fireball.
Hence the SPECIAL Champion Edition, just like the Snes version has Champion mode as well as Turbo.
And btw the music is better on the Mega Drive it was just that its mono and the voices are grainy, the snes is more evened out.
