@TraustiGeir My Regal was a pretty luxurious car for its time. Overall, I am satisfied with it. I just bought it for $1000. It gets up to 29 miles per gallon on the highway, which is fantastic for a 3.8-liter engine with 6 cylinders. It consumes too much gas in the city, though. It is more powerful than KIAs, most of which are not as fuel-efficient as my car. So, I do not intend to sell it. How is your car? I think Volvos do not have long-lasting engines. Mine has about 132,000 miles.
@consuetudinariness I forgot to change the oil one time and the engine was indeed not happy about that. But the Audi is such an attention-seeker (for me anyways) that I can't stop pampering it. It's got around 122.000 miles on it, the clutch is a bit stiff and you have to turn the A/C off when driving through a tunnel or dust. But it checked all the boxes on my wish-list: Black, powerful, sunroof, German, leather, electronic-comforts, stick-shift, etc.
I have one for sale in the uk if you want it, only 2300 miles on the clock and it the Cartier edition been stored for 29 year in De-humidified Garage, out the wrapper brand new.
Have a 79 Town Car now with 34K actual miles now. I am the 2nd owner. Work at the dealer that sold it new. Sold my 79 Collector series & paid off my house. Had another 78 & 79. Work as a Ford tech. Love the oldies.
I am still driving my 1977 Olds Delta 2 dr., I bought it for $225 in 1998. I also have a 1977 Lincoln Town Coupe I recently restored. These new cars are just over-priced junk. Too expensive to maintain, whatever you save in gas mileage you lose in repairs. - - hottrodscars
The '77 Olds has a Chevy 305 in it; the '77 Lincoln has a 460 cu. inch; I have a number of pre-pollution Olds motors in my shop, stored, someday will put an Olds 400 or 425 in it. The 305 right now runs too good to change.
78' delta 88. The motor blew on me. Went to the junk yard shortly after this vid was taken. It was also a really great car, had balls and was comfortable!
I had a 1977 delta 88. The previous owner had died(natural causes) and her daughter gave me the car for free. It sat in the garage for 4 years. After I put in a new battery and poured alittle gas down the carb it fired right up and ran smooth. I regret ever selling that car. I haven't been able to find a 77-79 in my area ever since.
Dear Mr. Punisher, I love Town cars, too. I've owned three of them. I am saddened that Ford is planning to discontinue the model. I think they're making a big mistake.
I used to have this exact car. What a gas hog. But,it was the greatest car.big boat

@consuetudinariness Those who do are happy to. You don't buy a car like this for a quick trip to the corner-store.

@TraustiGeir I agree, but we are in the 21st century right now, not when calendars were invented!

@consuetudinariness I owned an '02 Volvo S40 and traded it in for a '94 Audi S4. Care to ask why?

@TraustiGeir Yeah. Let me know. I own a 1994 Buick Regal myself.

Mine ran great too. Even with a 1/2 tank of 4year old gas, it always started on the first turn of the key.

id beg to differ, my 78 towncar which was loved by an old man with 102k has had a master cylinder + alt failure
carb performance sucks+ lots of electrical demons
