  • Try eating vegetables weirdo

  • All are prime examples of Rattus Alatus

  • You sound like a perfectionist. You are very precise in your explanations and very skilled in your occupation. I love your videos.

  • Hey I was wondering if you had pheasants around your farm? If you do during pheasant season you should hunt and shoot them with your air rifle.

  • i think you must have hit that birds spine the one with the drooping legs the flew

  • winsconsin is not like that

  • Some examples are Band-tailed Pigeon, White-winged Dove, Mourning Dove, Inca Dove, Ground Dove etc. My point is, know what you are shooting at because you might be committing a felony. Band-tailed pigeons look a lot like "wild type" city pigeons. One is protected by federal law, the other is not.

  • FYI: All of the "pigeons" you are talking about are feral pigeons in the Americas,

even what you are calling the "wild type". They are all introduced from Europe and

are derived from the species that all field guides refer to as "Rock Dove". The latin

name is Columba livia. Keep in mind, though, that the Americas have their own native

species of pigeons and doves and these are protected by federal law.

  • The fleshy part is called the cere.

  • @womsterr sorry someone has already responded. enjoy the vid

  • Lol bird pie.

  • 3:09 shoot it up the butthole! 3:55 awwwww!

  • I think it went in its back out his chest.

  • @EdgunUSA Hey Ted, I've been watching your videos for a while. Great work! You should do a gun review on the Crosman Phantom. It's a relatively cheap ($80) break barrel .177 gun that is widely available (walmart) and pretty powerful (claims 1,000fps with lead).

Since this gun seems cheap and available, you should do a review and see if it is actually worth it for maybe a beginner or intermediate level person to buy.

  • 900fps, 18.1g pellet - I got 88.3 Joules of muzzle energy. Sound about right?

  • @flyboy172r i think it's 44 or 45 joule

  • what cal were you using?

  • @fishinghunting210 .22 cal - 18.1 gr pellet.

  • easy on the piegeon pie dood!not good for them man boobs of yours>

  • Hey Ted,

I found your videos on pigeons quite interesting and informing except for one thing, what's you're recipe for pigeon pot pie?! There are a lot of pigeons in my area because of the all the horse barns. In one outing, my dad and I killed over 50 pigeons in just one barn, and I was wondering about a good recipe for these birds, in case we find another "honey hole" like that barn. Thanks for making so many great videos, as they are part of the reason I am so into airgunning!

  • @TotalOutdoorsmanWA I have had so many requests to show how I make the pie. I need to smack 6-10 of them to make it, so wish me luck next time I go out. :)

  • @TotalOutdoorsmanWA pigeons are delicious

  • It's depth perception that's lacking with monocular vision and is attained through positional adjustments, not depth of field. You are correct about the reason they move their heads though. I really enjoy your videos and you seem really knowledgeable when it comes to biology / ornithology. I've been wondering, are you self taught or do you have some formal learning in biology?

  • Oh and the fleshy beak part is the operculum.

  • Do you eat crows?

  • Comment removed

  • 2:26 looks like that articular bird actually looks at the pellet and then it impacts him..kinda goes along with the ninja bird except this one doesn't have skill.

  • What do you do when you spot a pigeon with rings on it's leg?

These with rings are racing pigeons or pet pigeons which values a lot of money to their owners.

I remember hearing a news a few years ago that a hunter was taken to court for shooting a pigeon with a ring on it's leg in my country England (not New England but old England which is part of the UK). My brother in law shoots pigeons but not the ones with rings on their legs.

I think the law is the same in the States or am I wrong?

  • @DavBlc7 I don't know the details the laws re: pigeon ownership. But, I do not shoot banded pigeons, regardless. I see them from time to time, but the band is clearly visible through my scope. They are also usually bigger and more colorful than ferals.

  • You just killed an "endangered pigeon" ;) ... You are so Horrible!

BTW, how do they taste? ....LOL. Good video man!

people who enjoy their "veggie tale" lifestyle are going to eat those pigeons, especially when the economy "tanks"

  • EdgunUSA I dont know whats wrong with the pic, can you tell me? PPPLLLZZZ

  • Couldn't handling birds like that be potentially risky to your health?

  • @witherspoon1995 Read the description. He not only handles them, but he eats them, too.

  • At the end it is a a different Tim of year

  • clevage

  • you should raise and fly pigeons. pretty fun too.

  • a bit less information and a bit more blowing heads off please.

  • Ahhh your my uncles neibhor!!!!!

  • Do you eat em? ive been told squab is good to eat. Just wondering

  • Where in wisconsin do you live.?? I live in Wisconsin

  • HAH! i got a little shooting game as my ad for this video. :D

  • wisconsin is a great place to brush up on target practise. lol, trust me, i know! i too am from wisconsin.

  • It's so hilarious that you spend all this time talking about them and documenting their lifestyle as if you really appreciate them... and then you shoot em in the head LOL

  • Very interesting, enjoyed and favorited!

  • WOW man nice video .... Thanks for the info , I always wonderd why they move there heads all the time . Keep up the good work ,

  • ^^ 2:22 ^^

  • Hi, we live in a rural area of the UK and we have really healthy woodpidgeon that forage in the woods and also take seed from feeders placed for song birds.I leave them alone but we have a visiting Goshawk that enjoys them. Those ferral green ones that you show at the beginning infest the city 16 miles to the south and we view them as flying rats.

  • look how many videos he has

  • why dont you eat the pigion

  • Again a 1st class vid! always impressed with your ability and knowledge, you truly are a credit 2 the sport!

  • Why did you kill male pigeon?

    Kill females!

Females are the source of evil, not males.

  • " he drops like a stone" no he drops like a pigeon

  • @qwery84 whoa we got a badass over here.

  • @trigun890 Its called a joke ...

  • @qwery84 everybody knows (except yout, apparantly) that stones drop like pigeons, so he is absolutely correct

  • @qwery84 freefal is constant on earth

  • cere aka nares

  • @SixPack LOL I saw it the next video matter of fact but couldn't remove my comment. LOL

  • very helpful.. hes not just shoting to shoot

  • I went from watching black vs mexican to this....

  • You said tge Kitty's were hungry, what exactly are you referring to?

  • @JordanSoftDong if you watch some other videos he throws his smaller kills to the cats in the barn

  • so is that 199 flying rats left in liberty city?

  • Trouble with the video was it wasn't taken on the same day/time as the other video. Overcast in 1st video and clear on 2nd part on Grain bin. Just my guess...

  • Great channel man. You motivated me to fix my 40 years old air rifle and do some damage to pigeons hehe although because of it's age i need to shoot from 12-15 yards for clean kill

  • Eating that pigeon is pretty much the same as when you shoot a pheasant and eat it they both eat the same things so really they good to eat.

  • What was with the rooster?

  • what the name for the gun?

  • 7:28 MAN I love Wisconsin!

    So do I!

  • Great vid.

Some say you are what you eat.

When a cannibal eats a vegetarian I don't think he is a vegetarian.

  • where did u buy your rifle from?

  • I Love your videos!

    greetings from Chile

  • You should train one of your cats to help you recover your birds haha.

I always enjoy your insight and lessons.

    watch?v=Fww-TDz63pY

  • dammit shoot hurry up and shoot..lol

  • we had rats to way to big for my cats.

  • Haha, you look alot like Bear Grylls mate :P

  • @MrSalty953

Yeah he does, but unlike Bear Grylls, He's legitimate.

  • you saved alot on the cat food! wow!

  • shoot to the stupid cats no to the birds

  • @GaPaVlogs it is a farm the birds are pests the cats are helpful they hunt mice and rats the birds eat the grain and corn and sometimes even crap in it spreading disease i used to live on farm we had at least 10 cats they never came in the house never bothered us and w never saw a mouse or rat in the house just couple in the barn being stalked by a cat

  • @GaPaVlogs absolutely!!

  • Good video! That fleshy part you refereed to is called the "cere"

  • It's good that you know that much about the animals you hunt. You are a good hunter not someone who's hunting for having fun and making animals suffer. (Sry for my bad english, I'm german q:)

  • y dont u get a 22 ?

  • We usully shoot that birds with Beneli gun .bt that birds taste bad .there r other birds smaller than pigeon

  • Blue bar r the one c in saudi arabia ,i wonder wht gun nd bullet u r using ?

  • Nice explination of the science behind their sight!!

  • To theTF2sniper. You can kill them with a .177 pellet I have many a time, along with squirrels.

  • You mean you wanna bring the cat :D

  • pigeon pummmmmmmmmmmmm pigeoff

  • It takes a considerate more amount of skill to hit pigeons with an airgun as apposed to a shotgun which I've exclusively shot pigeons with. And only in California have I done that.

  • So when I move back to Madison, I'd like to try Feral Pigeon. I eat doves nearly every year here in AZ. But Airgun pigeon hunting looks like a blast.

  • glad to see you feed the meat to the kitties. nice shooting

  • 3:07 i woulda shoved a pellet up his ass

  • I couldn't help but create a little monologue when you were climbing on the grain silo. It goes something like this and it's from the point of view of a pyscho-pigeon who is a serial killer in training (and we'll assume he speaks human) who loves to just sit around and kill shit:

Pigeon [monotone documentary voice]: As you can see, the human has binocular vision so he will look straight ahead, unmovingly. This is why I aim the crosshairs right between his eyes! Blam!

  • Do you think i can take down a pigeon with a 177.cal?

  • @theTF2sniper yes you can

  • @theTF2sniper Definitely! Not to step on any toes, but I kill pigeons in steel mills as part of my job. We use both .177 and .20 cal. When you hit them in the crop, they are a sack of potatoes every time.

  • The Lee Harvey Oswald of pigeons

  • how do i attract feral ghouls?

  • how do you know all this

  • do you use 177. cal pellets or 22. pellets

  • would love to see an impact shot from a camera mounted where the bird is located... bait a spot and have cams set up there to see your shot from the scope AND when it pounds thru the other side of the animal. your editing and planning skills are up to the task.

  • what was wrong with the picture was it was a different day or later on from when u climbed up. it was much more clear outside. my geuss n e ways.. sweet videos btw

  • @realefancy

The panoramic view was taken 3 months after the shooting.

It's said so, in his description.

Honestly, people should read the uploaders' description 1st.

  • Next time, don't go on that bin. Because you know it,and because you grew up on the farm, that's why it's more dangerous. You feel safer, while in fact, you act more bold, which makes you more dangerous (to yourself).

Just leave them up for the raptors next time.

    Sincerely, a fan.

  • Complacency can get you hurt....

  • Hey that was my fucking racing pigeon you just blasted .

  • Comment removed

  • u got a good shot! bt shouldntu you wear gloves cause dont birds carry deseases?

  • @closecombat211 its ok to hold them without gloves, as long as you wash your hands afterwards

  • @pelletgunhero o ok i thougth it was something like that. do you hunt with pellit guns?

  • @closecombat211 yeah, the pellet gun i shoot is basicly like shooting a glock besides a smaller projectile

  • WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE CHICKEN?

  • that is what is wrong

  • that is not how pigons see

  • what was wrong in the panoram part?

  • you feed your kitties dead pigeons? you know about cat food right? haha

  • do u ever eat these biirds if so how do you cook it

  • i learn so much from your videos thanks for that and keep shooting.

  • Why do you pick up the birds don't they have all types of diseases ?

  • @vLeGeNdS1 No, very few bird diseases can commonly be caught by people. Dont need to worry about that unlike rats.. (Unless you live in an area with a lot of bird flu)

  • pidgeons is good eatin'. I've eaten them before when I was dead broke and wanted some chicken.

  • I've eaten urban doves and squirrels before, harvested in the backyard with airgun, and would certainly eat those rural farm pigeons too, if no cats to feed them to, but I have heard it's best not to eat city pigeons for some reason...

  • oh wow u live in wisconsin what part

  • i have a phobia of pigeons i have no desire of eating them, shooting them or even being near them, but you have taught me alot and i love all of your videos even though its tough for me to watch, if that makes sense :)

  • great videos buddy. really. i did not know i could have so much fun with a small caliber rifle

  • jesus christ i didnt want to know all the pigeons life stories before they died lol

  • MONSTER!!!!

  • Which gun is better: the Benjamin marauder .22 or the Edgun Matador

  • @cmelt43 the answer is to easy Benjamin marauder = 500$ matador = 1600$ also the marauder is a great gun for intermediate shooters that know what they are doing

  • jst shoot the fucking bird already

  • love your vids keep up the good work

  • Sorry to say "hi" seen lot of your videos, they are super, you must have done hours of practice, very impressive

  • How do u figure out the wind speed , I mean aiming right or the left from the target,

  • you ever get any banded pigeons (leg banded)

  • @johnsonthehunter No. I see them from time to time, but I never shoot them. We have a few pigeon keepers in the area, and I respect their property. Besides, the birds usually return home after a day of horsing around with the ferals. They know where the good life is.

  • @EdgunUSA What about morning doves, is it okay to kill them? and can you make a video of them

  • @johnsonthehunter

Only reason to ever shoot one is to get the phone number from the wing (or leg band) to call the owner. I only ever shoot one bird if there are a number of tagged birds nesting on the farm. From what I'm told by the owners of these birds, once they begin to roost somewhere they are usally discarded of anyway.

If it's just one or two, and they haven't been around for more than 2 days they are probably just resting.

  • what reticle is on you scope????

    thanks

  • @UltraHawke1 Hawke 20X 1/2 Mil Dot

  • Pigeons and doves are complete vegetarian. They eat NO bugs . You have learned much about pigeons.

  • Very, very good eating--country or suburbs. I no longer shoot doves--just pigeons.

  • GREAT video Ted...beatifully done!!!

  • nice corn, grows very fast!

  • How do the pigeons taste? i go dove hunting all the time and somtimes shoot a pigeon or two i normally just throw them away because ive heard they taste real tough and gamy, so whats your take on them?

  • @jordan628trisha Feral pigeons do not taste as good as dove. The meat is tougher, as is the skin. In my opinion, you need to slow cook pigeon or mince it into a pie. Doves are just plain yummy (as you know). No need to get tricky with them. I actually have a dove hunting/cooking video on the way.

  • @EdgunUSA If you kill the younger ferals, they taste as good, if not better than doves. I've had my own share of older, gamier doves. find the pigeons' nests in barns, under bridges, around buildings, etc. Then shoot the fully-feathered, ready to start flying squabs. The adults will flush, leaving young behind. This is how you can tell.

  • @jordan628trisha They taste just like doves. Bigger.

  • can u make a video on how to use a mil dot scope?and how it works

  • How to Hunt Pigeons simple throw corn pick up gamo viper express load shot gun round

not .22 cal wait four more pigeons multi kill

  • Im from Minnesota I Love all your Videos 11 but hunting

  • diner is served Pigeon

  • wow, great information. i also really like your setup, you had some great shots

  • @soulreaperichig0 The dodo was never a pest. It was on one island - it never spread to any other land. Settlers of that island ate them all because they were easy to catch. You can't just make up history because you want to make a point. I get it - you are a vegan and want the rest of us to be vegan. But, that just is not going to happen. You know this. Move on.

  • @EdgunUSA Only two wild species of pigeons were ever a pest. The rock dove [common pigeon] is one of them. It's just as much a pest in native Europe as it is here. The other, the passenger pigeon [actually a large dove], was a pest en masse. It was hunted down to splinter flocks of only 10,000 to 100,000 strong, but NOT hunted to the last bird. Diseases from imported pigeons, is what killed them off to the last few dozen.

  • @soulreaperichig0 what a load of shit. Shut up and go back to your hippie commune

  • The "white fleshy part" on the beak is known as the "Cere".

  • how much does that air-rifle cost
