Yes I know the 2 year contract is a pain in the ass, but to be honest I have already finished my 2 year contract and signed up for another 2 to get the mifi router. This service is so useful that it does not bother me to get the 2 years.

i just bought a phone with a dataplan buthave been looking into one of these from my sp as well which i can get on a plan as well. so you are saying i can just get one of these and get a router to get internet in my car lets say and have it feed to my phone, so i dont have to have the dataplan with my phone and just pay for this plan?

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. The router is my favorite because I have internet on all my devices. I currently have it in my truck and all my devices have internet. A plus is that I use the iphone connected to the router instead of the 3g and so all applications work without the ATT cap that they have with the 3g connection.

That is not good, while it looks convinient, this card is not stuck with that laptop. I can put mine in any computer I want, plus I can use the router. To have internet access on multiple devices.

I'm trying to find a source for internet and online gaming. I saw in your posting say you play too how much data does it take up on your 5gb max? For me its 56k or a USB modem and I usually play for a few hours a week so how do you track your usage?

Hi, you know that is a good question. I don't know of a way to track your usage. There might be a program out there for that. I use it some months heavily and I always get charged $60. You can contact verizon they might be able to help with the tracking. I play alot of call of duty 4 on my laptop with this card. Hope this helped.

Yes it does work. The verizon card has drivers for the mac, and if you use the router you don't have to worry about drivers since it will work with any operating system.

well the same situation is for me they only offer DSL in my area even though im less than a mile from the DSL hub My internet slows down when I run web servers and game servers. how well would this work for a server, and do they offer a T1 or T2 connection for this usb card?

Guy this is basically a 3G connection nothing more, you cannot expect to run servers on this nor get T1 service. 3G is as fast as it goes. Plus they have a 5GB cap and after that it is $0.49 per megabyte.

I am in a spot where they're is no high speed internet (cable/dsl) ... Will the Verizon Wireless card work with online games? My nephew plays World of Warcraft on my computer and he always complains the he gets DC'd... I think... What do you suggest?

Glad you asked that question because I play Call of Duty 4 with this setup and it works just fine. Verizon has one of the best and fastest 3G internet access around. I play that one and also Halo and it works great. Hope this helped.

Now with this being a MMORPG, where he plays for hours on end, what abou tthis 5gb limit thing? Is there a way to check it? Do you think that him playing about.. 5-6 hours or more a day (with breaks, if that matters, is too much for the 5gb cap?) Thanks for your input on it, you've already helped so much.

Your welcome, yes there is a 5gb limit on the verizon service. I believe that you should be ok, the problem is that if you continue to use it to view movies online and download on a regular basis then it is very possible to pass the 5gb limit, you may want to check with verizon to make sure what is the pricing. I looked on the web and after 5GB they charge $0.49 per MB.

I would try it for a few days and check with verizon how much you have used. This way you can plan ahead. Best of luck.

There is not much you can do since the contracts for these cards are for 2 years, and they will charge you an early termination fee.
