I loved them from the first time I saw them on a tv prog where John Peel went round village hall gigs and featured small unknown bands........and the rest is history, I was hooked and like the rest of you gutted when Adamson died. Couldn't face seeing the new line up. Then I had to try to explain them to (can you believe) a mate who had missed out on them - and saw this. MIxed emotions, but emotions indeed, as much as ever, guess its in the words and the music and not just who's playing.
@nosurrender1957 agree totally man, watched BC live whenever they toured by me in the nineties..Even tho' the new line up sounds good i'm not brave enough to see them without Stuart..he had a stage presence & magnetism which drew me to Big Country..Good Memories..
@MrBigal1690 don't slag off all the younger generation i'm 16 and seen big country 6 times plus countless others such as u2, simple minds and the alarm , so i don't think its fair to say we don't appreciate decent music :)
Man ! Ah didnae ken they were playing T in the park ?? It`s just over the Forth Bridge....!! Gonna have to start checking the line up `suppose !Peace Ye`all
lol at the cookie monster in the audience... amazing performance and mike is so cool he looks like a sea lion and tony butler is amazing and great to see jamie doing so good. obv now i have to mention mark and bruce cos they're cool too.
still as fresh and vibrant and alive as when I first heard it in the 80s. I was so lucky to have seen BC on the Buffalo Skinners Tour here in the states. Saw them in of all places where Bruce Springsteen started...The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. I was probably about 5 or 10 feet from the stage. It was phenomenal!
Completely agree with the sentiments here. I saw Big Country on their first American tour when I was 17 and it was one of the most amazingly powerful concerts I have ever been to. When Stuart died I was completely gutted. Having said that, it is so great to see Bruce, Tony and Mark playing again and having also been a big fan of the Alarm, it's fantastic to see Mike Peters taking over the vocals with so much passion and sincerity. Stuart absolutely would have been proud of this lot! :-)
@Nigelxman I was gutted also bro`! Still am ! Being Scottish and a teenager at the time it made our blood run faster through our viens!(Probably had something to do with the weed and hormones as well HaHa) ! Used to wonder sometimes how non Scots could relate to this music? But BC and Stuart were so unique and the songs so universally uplifting etc ! I have youtube friends from all over the world from being fans of this band ! Anyway!Dont want to bang on ! Peace Ye`All !!
I love it!!!!
