    03:40-4:10

  • nonsense pronunciation

  • Mr Low Thia Khiang is truly deserving of absolute respect for his passion and all that he stands for!!! Mr Low reminds me of politicians who stood for all that they believe in...even like Mr Lee KY in his younger days of 1950s to 60s.

  • I salute him for his courage and assertiveness to speak up alone. Can tell he strongly believes in his beliefs!

  • Banks--who cannot manage a bank and commericial institutions and learn how to invest. You can hire foreign talents. the fact of the matter, the GIC are making a loss out of trial and error out of these dumb ass money! Their loss is not the singawhorean gain, but their loss! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHA

  • Banks--who cannot manage a bank and commericial institutions and learn how to invest. You can hire foreign talents. the fact of the matter, the GIC are making a loss out of trial and error! Their loss is not the singawhorean gain, but their loss! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAHA

  • the local aunty can also collect toll fee from the ships around $400,000 a pop! How many ships pass by Singapore each day. Can your local ah sum also do it? No brainer, open and hand and start collecting money. WTF has Lee and Singapore contributed to the world? You ppl make planes, software, produce food, biotech? Just lok at the clothes you wear and the food you eat and the car you drive, at least malaysia still has proton saga, what the fuck has singapore produced.

  • PAP, the world's most expensive bunch of auntis collecting toll fees (not toilet fees) for the port Authority of Singapore--1.3 illion per year, sitting in the busiest port? And Lee said he deserved the raise because the PAP is not a mediocre government HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • no the ppl haven't seen her work actually iti did seem SM Goh could have lost the PAP know but like the WP team in Aljunied tat i have complete faith in is tat she has 5 yrs 2 prove herself worthy like real

  • As for Tin Pei Ling, she is in-charge of MacPherson division. The people there also did not hate her so much. Those hate her all from the social network. So even she is competing in MacPherson SMC she also might have won. So don't blame GRC

  • So as for George Yeo he is in-charge of Bedok Reservoir-Punggol division,if there is Bedok Resrvoir-Punggol SMC then he will be competing against Low Thia Khiang who is WP candidate for Bedok Resrvoir - Punggol. Even as for Bedok Reservoir-Punggol division, the PAP votes also lose to WP. So if there is no GRC,George Yeo will lose in the SMC. So don't blame the GRC.

    to be continue.......

  • Tin Pei Ling wouldn't be in parliament,George Yeo will be in parliament without the GRC. Those are RUBBISH. If all the 5 divisions in Aljunied GRC is split into SMC. The actual result is this, according to the report:

All the 5 division,PAP lose to WP

Even the division with the highest PAP votes,Eunos also lose to WP by 1000+ votes.

    1) Eunos

    2) Bedok Reservoir-Punggol

    3) Kaki Bukit

    4) Paya Lebar

    5) Serangoon

    to be continue........

  • People ate people, more lesson out there awaiting for you . Co driver , slap the driver when he about to sleep. Not even that, slap him when he fails to check the blind spot, signal or fails to give way when many times they should. My friend died cos of casino, some went bankrupt , some got divorce. Yes, job was given. But come on, 80 to 90 % was foreign only 10-20% local. Housing and transport went sky high, of course all the mp pays too, have they announce when they are going to bring down t

  • he point out the problem. GRC is unfair to the people now tin case show that GRC is wrost fail in GOV system and singapore shame

  • R.E.S.P.E.C.T

  • A winner takes all system is never fair. If there is true proportional representation, the size of constituencies will not matter.

    The government has 3 choices:

    (1) Abolish GRCs and create more SMCs with preferential voting by condorcet method.

    (2) Topping up seats for oppositiion members according to % of votes received.

    (3) Create 27 5-member GRCs and allocate seats accordingly to the party.

  • HAHAHAHAHA... GARRC... Its GRC sir... Wish you would have gone to a better school.

  • omg....They should have subtitled this clip.......

  • Thats stupid. That guy who kept on asking Mr Low to speak on the right motion didn't even get his surname right. It's 'Low' and not 'Lau'. Tsk.

  • @jianxiong1991 That guy is our speaker of parliament, Mr Tarmugi

  • PAP should be Passed Away Peacefully, not People's Action Party

  • True... Low Thia Khiang ... u have my respect!!!

  • go workers party ! go mr low make the changes to singapore

  • I think they all just too rude to LTK, but i totally salute him !!!

he as an lone ranger in the parliament but yet got the courage to speak up for us singaporean...

  • Salute

  • I didn't show interests for politics before, this year was my 1st time to Vote GE2011. I'm impressed by WP rally crowds, their passive speech and this Teochew man Mr Low. Thumbs up, Let's see what the Mr Low contribute to human race!! Cheers

  • why is the parliament so rude, they are not showing a good eg. mr low is so humble! mr low ftw!

  • My upmost respect for LTK .

  • if he nt in parliament.

everi ah gong lee say sure pass 1.

no one gt guts to oppos own pty

    tio bo

  • @yehlaoda tio.

  • Aljunied and Hougang voters, you have voted wisely.

  • salute!!~

  • The GRC system allows PAP candidates to get into parliarment without even a vote. This is not good for Singapore in the long run. This will lead to political apathy. This GRC system is definitely the first of its kind in the world, unique to Singapore only. No where else do you see this type of democracy system.

  • @jojo30 Mate, we don't live in democracy, more like dictatorship.

  • @kn0ckingIN We have lived in a democratic government for the past 2 decades because we trust the government enough so that we have chose to not speak up. We made the choice not to debate so much or take part in so much politics so that instead of politics, policies could come.

But now this complacent generation have instead been so deluded with Singapore's security that they think they can afford more politics. These idiots fail to realize how fragile Singapore will always be.

  • Simple translation attempt, pls bear with it. English can in no way express what the Chinese expresses:

    1. The basis for the grc system as explained by pap is groundless. It insults singaporeans that we vote with racial discrimination. From past elections, this cannot be proven. Jeyaratnam was voted in in anson against a chinese candidate in a chinese majority ward in past election.

    2. Pap makes use of their dominant position in parliament to change the constitution to protect the parties inter

  • wah... he kana laughed at.. haiz...

  • low thia khiang is a hero.

  • i think the rest of the parliament members are totally clueless because they CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO BE BILINGUAL. go LOw THIAKHIANG!

  • Do we have the guts to put some more voice in parliment to resist the arrogance of those in power??? ......... Or do we just let them dictate our life without putting up any resistance??? The choice is ours! The time is now! Vote wisely for a balance parliment!

  • @ForzaCampione i m voting for him.

  • i salute you mr low

  • Dear singaporean look what have they done to LTK and CST. I think they just know how to follow the mm and pm order only, this election come all know how to cover their backside. keep saying I do this I do that pls support me I'm ur best mp. Omg

  • Read damzo1212 comment. Make big sense

  • Of cause he can't speak further about GRC. The one shouting "order" and everyone in the house is from PAP. Its hard for Mr Low to debate when he is the only one oppositing about gst problem and many other debates. We really need more opposition party to be in the house. It's your choice of vote, people for can vote please vote wisely. To be able to overthrow their family passing down trend.

  • You had my support until "I'll speak in Mandarin"... Now i don't understand...

  • @zeemons The reason he spoke in Mandarin, is becos he can better express himself in which, his mother tongue. If some1 can can put in the subtitles so that our fellow singaporeans such as Malays and Indians can understand would be best. And when he used Mandarin, he can use idioms, and forms of languages that are in Mandarin to sarcastically insult the GRC implentation was nothing but an excuse by PAP. 'Singapore Democracy is one of its Kind' 'GE is got vote but cannot vote'

  • 9:46 who's that blonde guy sitting there?

  • @vigelic Arthur Fong. MP for Clementi in West Coast GRC.

  • Poor Mr. Low needs more opposition members in the parliament to help me.

  • one word: rude

  • Low Thia Kiang go!! u got my support i wish u win Aljunie this yr

  • how would the judge know what he was saying? how can they laugh at him like that? so rude.

  • when he is speaking for singapore interest did u all notice how those ppl react, do our goverment pay such high pay for them to chit chat n cold laugh at him .....pls reflect this to the rest who nv see this vid before let the rest of them knw wat this guy done for us rather than those aunty n uncle nv improve our llife for last 5 year and now crying n begging for us to vote for them..........f..k them

  • His English is ok, the problem is with his pronunciation.

  • I salute Mr Low..But i really don't understand him at all.To be an MP,he should improve his english. He does not speaks good english and that's why many people does not understand him.I know that he is standing for singaporeans but at least he should speaks in multi language, not only in mandarin. He is 100% sure that there is not only chinese here in Singapore. So what about the Malays,Indians,Eurasians and many more that does not understand mandarin? To be an MP,he should make ALL to understand!

  • @MrFarinahmad His english is same standard as WKS, listen to WKS's pronounciation and u know. Sometimes i think the brainwashing about "acceptance of good english ONLY" started from PAP kindergarden and the irony is china is taking over. In terms of population and trade in future which will be 100% singaporean's issue. Sg locals often judge people by command of english, its a joke because their own english is poor and they think its good.

  • Balls of steel

  • good

  • a true hero

  • Boys & Gals, be appreciative that at least Mr LTK dare to represent as opposition party & speak up in the parliament for the welfare of many suffering Singaporeans. Unlike those sitting in d background, juz wasting seats space busy yaking amongst themselves & not paying attention while important issues been brought up, tt included d "judge" tt kept saying "order, order."

  • @sgdkrs bro, that is not judge. that is speaker of the parliament. hope this coming GE2011 oppositions become majority and LTK be appointed as PM.

  • a real leader.. those behind him so no manners .. chattin amg themselves .. are they paid so much to chitchat? n not pay attention to such impt issues?

  • i know by saying this, everyone is prolly gonna hate me. but i would never vote for him. yes i agree that having opposition in parliment is impt for so many reasons. accountability, constructive debate etc. but low seriously has not much substance. he has no goals for the future of sg. basically just trying to find fault with our current system. and how are walkovers the pap's fault. fact is there werent much opposition back then. suck it up.

  • @yandao88 that is because (back then) they are still under the impression of how the ruling govt will do to the opposition parties members. check with your parents/grandparents what LKY did attempt or do to them when they lost elections challenge in those era.

but it's a different era now. hence we see more ppl in the opposition parties

  • @yandao88

he definitely dont have a goal for Singapore, he knew that PAP is good now. but, he is there to speak up for those old and needy. this is really what i feel.

  • i would definitely vote for him, if given th chance. IF it was based on th interest of th poor, needy, and th area where i am living. however, i would not vote for him if its for th interest for Singapore. cause WP MIGHT not have enough people to serve in th important position like, MFA, etc. sorry to say so. i might be ignorant. so, everything i said shouldnt be taken seriously.

  • @happygolucky93. do you think that the ruling govt will even assign a ministry to the opposition party MP? it doesn't matter. even if we have ppl of the opposition party from top sch scoring top scores in econs, or social science or etc. the ruling govt will not give any ministry to them. we just need ppl in to have a direct voice ppl from the ground to pressure the govt when things are off track

  • @wittyweida

as in, i feel that other than needy and th old would vote for him, much of th young generation might not vote for them, because voting for them is not useful, as if they have th ability to take over most of th parliament seats and th govt, if everyone was to vote for them. as said, low has weakness in language. even by having a voice in th parliament for th people, i believe not many might take him seriously, which is a really sad thing.

  • however, like many human being, he has weakness too. he lacks a good command of english. as you can see, he is slightly happier and confident whn he got th chance to speak chinese instead. its really sad that he couldnt use his strength language, like hokkien or chinese. he MIGHT win th debate if other MP, etc was to use hokkien or chinese to debate with him.

  • however, people might argued saying that he is there just hoping to make a differences and a history. a miracle of winning th PAP. i dont think so though. he is not young now, and everyone knows and i believe he knew that there is little chance to topple th PAP in his lifetime. but, he is still doing it. because, there are still those old people who need him, and support him. i felt so.

  • i dare not to conclude, but i feel that he is indeed an intelligent man. i felt that he is standing there, despite having very little say and having to received so many unpopular looks. is just because he wanted to serve those needy Singaporeans, he could just walk away and spend his life on other more meaningful things, but he chose to contribute his time to those needy, poor and old who might not even have th chance to speak up their needs. and this man is here to do th speaking for them.

  • What he wants is to have more say in parliament. In other words, he wants political power. He speaks up for the people which are the issues every other countries faced. But the more important thing for Singapore is its economy, the leaders need to drive the economy in order for the country to grow strong. All the issues were brought up in parliament if you were to search. By voting for the opposition, it may satisfy certain groups of people in the short term. But can they boost our ECONOMY?

  • @gargoth81 this is what an MP is for. He is an MP, thus he must look after the bread and butter isues of his residents,

  • Thank you for representing true singaporeans' voice, you are a brave warriors fighting alone!

  • Comment removed

  • Must watch!! C how helpless MP Low was in the parliament, he did his best to fight for the fairness in election n yet the ruling party was laughing. Pls help him, help our self. Send more opposition to Parliament n make them cry instead of laugh!!

  • @davetan88 i like this remark. u are right. they are not paying attention to him! see what i always meant by arrogance in the ruling govt and slowly they probably dun hear our voices

  • 3.45 to 4.06 - BRAVO!!!!! hahahaa ...

  • G arer see hahaha

  • We need people like Low Thia Khang to run the country and not have a greedy bastard like LSL.

  • Lots of pap croonies poisoning the comments. Mr Low, I salute you for being the voice of the growing politically aware masses!

  • @teeaxjay , you have to salute a man who is a loner ranger in the parliament. He is so confident in speaking in bilingual. When comes to problems, how to get solution when there is no access to whatever they need? if you dont give him a chance to be voted in a GRC, where is the economies of scale? Normally, a person's perseverance will wear out but he perseveres. This is a point that i 欣赏。

But credit should be given to the PAP for creating a safe city.

  • if u did notice this discussion was back dated last year. learn to read the post date.

  • The WP have so much to say when the issue concerns amassing votes for themselves, but they are clueless as to how to really solve the daily problems of our people. Hypocrites indeed. People who give problem without proposing a solution is hardly an asset for the nation. Singapore needs leaders who solves issues for us

  • @teeaxjay even the current government dun even address our problems.

  • The opposition parties have so much to say when it comes to how they can amass more votes for themselves, but when it comes to real on the ground issues of the people they don't have a clue what they want to do. Real hypocrites they are.are Look around the us, we have schools and homes and jobs and look on the others around us, so many people living in poverty in other countries. We need to appreciate our government.

  • why can't he look at the paper less?

  • his mandarin is so much more comprehensible than his english lol

  • pap = arrogance and materialistic

arrogance will bring them failure and downfall!!

  • @Kensoni

maybe they are the elites hence not able to understand us, the commoner. The majority make-up of the nation.

  • Well spoken....just don't like the behaviour of the PAP on the background..showing no respect and insulting the parliament.

  • Not votng PAP!

  • If i like this and ganna caught/blacklisted... well then that proves my suspicious for PAP is true. Then my support for them a while ago is gone as well...Where's the freedom?

  • He looks like he has a cleft lip.... so cut him some slack if he cant pronounce some words properly eh?

  • come on you could still understand him...

  • Seems like Low thia kiang can't speak

    English that well...

  • @toshitoshitoshiba

the other MP cant speak chinese well.

  • @toshitoshitoshiba seems like you can't type very well either.

  • fck those members of the house who look down on WP look at their body posture and u know that tthey r a bunch of scooners who disrespect chinese lang

  • Though I'm a PAP's supporter, I respect Low Thia Khiang...

  • Comment removed

  • Just like AUTO Struck 4D ... LOL so funny

  • 15 823 views and 36 likes? Too chicken to like?

  • too bad he don't use teochew that is better

  • the guy interupting his speech shuld stfu. issuing people's distress is more important than his time.

  • Order, Order, Order, order my fuggin asss

  • he talks like Peter Chao lolz... No offence

  • why he got degree still talk like that one? he buy degree in china?

  • So what if his english is bad? He makes his points, he can do things right. We don't need a shakespeare to make decisions but have poor views

  • No offence intended, didn't mean to pour laksa down your pants. Just that the guys in the back didn't seem to be wearing ear pieces like in the UN.

  • This is the loophole in the system.

  • SOLID~

  • Are the non mandarin speakers getting translatioN??????

    Is Singapore a chinese country?

  • @corporalcharlie

yes they do.the same applies for tamil and malay.

  • what a dumbass. people around him must be thinking that he is wasting their time.

  • Comment removed

  • hero!!!

  • His english is atrocious.

  • @sth328 and i am sure you have perfect pronunciation... =)

  • @09wati90

don't try to provoke shit here.

minority MPs have made speeches in malay and tamil too, especially on their community issues.

in every parliament sitting there'll always be translators there.

  • @09wati90

I doubt that will ever happen. dont be daft

  • Mr Low, I SUPPORT U!!!

  • wow solid language, no wonder he won. If only there is such opposition everywhere. I didn't see any PAP member speak as well, faced with difficult questions they use their position as ruling party to get away with weak arguments.

  • Solid Arguement!!!!

  • i respect him!!!!!!

  • If I'm the "Father" (pun intended again) of

Singapore. I'II try to get him over my side.

Alas, "Father" is full of himself again.

My heart goes out to Low Thia Khiang.

Despite, I'm not a avid supporter of WP.

I'II vote for him if He's in MP GRC.

  • Unlike other parliaments in other countries, ours are boring and lack solid debates for betterment of citizens' welfare at large! We need more opposition in parliament or else our taxed dollars paid to pay these politicians will be considered wasteful and uneconomical.

  • he is good...

  • every singaporean have the right to vote ! YESSS

  • your mother is a moron

  • his mandarin is amazing.

  • @currentjer From wikipedia: he completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Chinese Studies at the National University of Singapore.

  • Will I have to move before I can vote? I wouldn't know where to move to... if I'm in a walkover constituency, it doesn't matter what I choose, whether I'm for or against the PAP, my vote doesn't matter.

The PAP has done a lot for us, but it also deserves to know what Singaporeans think instead of trying to find ways to keep itself in power regardless.

  • I believe U are refering to the "old guards of PAP" not the current MPs

  • Yes man..you are right!!Te old guard PAP are sincere patriots and think about Singaporeans. These present lot are a bunch of 4th grade division three politicians who are busy counting their salary every month when they recieve their pay-packets and are the least bothered about the current recession that is facing singapore!

  • @macrick sorry this reply is so delayed... haha, but I am so excited I am getting to vote finally that I just looked through all the old Youtube comments and found this sitting there. Yes, it is the old guard who have done a lot for us. But let's not tar all of the newer generation with the same brush. Tharman Shanmugaratnam is not Vivian Balakrishnan is not Khaw Boon Wan is not George Yeo is not ... they are different people.

Whatever the result, I can only hope it is for a better Singapore.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm a PAP supporter. But I admire Low's interest of Singapore.

Some might mock him at this command of English, but the government is smart enough to recognise someone for his brains than his pronounciation.

The success of Singapore is contributed to everyone in the government.

  • low is a true leader who protect singapore intrest,

  • I agree... I would like to vote.

  • I admire Mr. Low!

  • as well as Ms. Sylvia Lim for their critical stance towards the PAP government.

  • hahahaa... this is singapore bo bian

  • I'II take it with a pinch of salt. Once the "Father" of Singapore cross over.

    The whole system will collapse.

Let's be mentally prepared, dont over dependant on the Ruling Party.
