  • why dislikes :( great song

  • Oh, these comments...

Listen, it doesn't matter how uncomplicated the song is -- whether it be incredibly complex or 'just a few drumbeats' -- i'ts the feeling and environment it portrays. This song doesn't need any more. These songs are bloody fantastic just how they are..

  • Toward the end, it sounded like the ending riff to The Warning from Zero Sum.

    Lovely stuff.

  • This song reminds me of those repetetive "sound drug" tracks that are supposed to put you into a state of mind-wandering lucidity. Except this sounds much better and works a lot better.

  • @Mafila You mean Ambient?

  • @SuperiFox No, there's some stupid shit called "I-Dosing". Google it- it's basically for idiots who think that sounds can create the same effects as actual drugs and think it's worth it to pay outrageous amounts of money for a single "dose".

  • @dotZodiac Yeah it's pretty stupid, I've never paid a penny for the I-Dosing crap but I've listened to some of it before and it's basically just repetitive noise patterns that are supposed to alter your brainwaves or some shit. The Ghosts albums are all the I-Dosing I'll ever need.

  • Wow. it's hard to call it song...

  • What a hot tune.

  • I love this picture :)

  • This could be a Donkey Kong Country level song..

  • @hthemangs lmao, so true... great tune nevertheless

  • lots of C's in this song.

  • @ExpertiseGamer lolz synesthesia

  • IMO this sounds like something out of tron legacy

  • I lik to think that the NIN ghost videos highlight just how many ignorant 'music fans' are on youtube these days.

  • sounds like your mom on a bicycle

  • its what happens to the world when you tear out its soul---when all you allow for worship is the american idol...

  • if you enjoy ghosts you should give my song a listen:

    watch?v=FqphyhJuS8Y

  • I wish they made a CD that had only the ghosts on it.

  • @M3iscool this a cd with only ghosts on it :P

  • @JordMcDrummer Yeah I figured that out shortly after this video.

  • somewhat depressing, but in a kinda bright mood... like some of the WT era's song(only, ATLIT, TLBTB, etc)

  • You'd have to walk through the city or maybe Tokyo while listening to this song to truly appreciate it.

  • Huge kudos for uploading this whole album. It has kept me awake and happy through more school projects than I would like to admit.

  • Thank you very much for taking the time to upload these albums.

  • quake 3 contains this music.. no?

  • I AM THINKING OF CLOWNS.

...I'm not gonna be sleeping tonight.

  • For some reason this sounds like Now I'm Nothing

    maybe the more happier side?

God I just love this song, hell I love all of Trent's songs equally.

What a mastermind that has taken the music industry to a whole new side of sound.

  • @Withbleedthrewteeth you are such a fag - he's the last good thing he made was fragile -

  • @realguy640 I agree. Your version of "Away in a manger" is so epic that Trent can't help but bow his minimalist pussy ass to your more superior and thought provoking art. No wonder why you are so godly and famous! I have every single last one of your albums. I am slightly obsessed, and it's unhealthy at this point. Will you have gay sex with me?

  • @egobrain25 wow. to get so personal and catty to a man who is simply giving his op. it's amazing you can write with a cock in your mouth at the same time.

  • @realguy640 I've had a lot of practice. I took a shot in the mouth and wrote that in two seconds. I can walk and chew bubble gum, too. Thanks for recognizing my talents. - Fan for life.

  • @egobrain25 Trents just not trying anymore huh? i meen using fl studio now sheesh.

Any of you could make this with a midi synth controler and fl studio oh and 30 secs lol gay. RIP OFF!!

Just using his name to sell crap now. Miss his older style.

  • @realguy640 howbout we see you use your musician skills (if you have any) to make an even better album than this one in less than the 10 weeks that trent made these awesome 36 instrumentals. oh and trent was a drug addict and thats what drugs do to you, you should know only a seriously stoned guy could have the stupid thought to type down what you did. oh and 5yr olds shouldnt be taking drugs

  • @RetardedAndRandomTV i like this song but that was a fairly lame insult/comment

  • @armywifeponder it was probably the 5yr old part

  • This is awesome

  • its a beautiful thing, all the ghost songs give people very vivid pictures of what it is and no ones is the same, for me its a old western ghost town

  • haha this brings back memories of my best friend and I just chilling out and listening to this song while watching milkdrop on winamp. So hypnotizing :)

  • I know this is going to sound weird...but it reinds me of someone watching porn...like the first couple seconds its him just seeing a couple of pictures and then going back to his buisiness...then as the song continues...he frequents it more often...showing how it consumes your soul if you give in, lol.

  • you put to much thought into masturbating.

  • @Icerokou Kinda reminds me of a visual I get of either Les Claypool or Meynard Keenan suddenly appearing over my shoulder when I'm looking up porn... It kills the mood pretty quick. It appeared to me in a nightmare once...

  • @ZhasX3 hahaha wait i could wank to Les..

  • @7YearMask There's a simple beauty in all of the songs on ghosts. It's about what sort of mood the song puts you in or the images that it conjures up in your mind. This is an amazing song in disguise.

  • @7YearMask Trent has made many great songs with meaning, I doubt you have any as great as his

  • I need to check the multitracks, I can hear Trent singing distorted and extremely low

  • @flannelking These are all instrumental songs. Unless theres singing in there as a hidden easter egg type thing? O_o

  • yeah it's more just like a vocal texture, no real words just vocalizing

  • @flannelking I hear's it. It's definately there. I thought everybody could hear it! I mean, it's not even really subtle

  • @ZhasX3 Yo man those are sampled vocals, though what it's saying I don't know.

  • the begining of this makes me feel like im walking through a completly deserted city just as the sun is going down, where everything slows down and everything in the world just seems to be perfect for a breif second. i love it

  • @auzzification I get almost that same mental picture, except mine is in an old village in the wild west with tumbleweeds rolling around~~~and at 1:32 I usually see a beautiful woman standing somewhere, and then she disappears and keeps reappearing in other places everytime that guitar melody kicks in.

  • @auzzification i jus see a hill in the desert whith billions of soldiers in lines walking just starring ahead, not blinking.....

  • hypnotic.

  • this one is my favorite

  • When I hear this it feels like I can float softly through the air.

  • your passion is fruit?

  • No. Fruit my passion. ;o

  • @mypassionfruit maracuja?

  • @mypassionfruit No. MYPassionFruit

  • your passion fruit is ... ?

  • @TheCornholio713 nahh he's sayingthat the passion fruit is his. :D

  • i cant believe they actually made all these songs lol

  • I've neverbeen high in my life but I imagine it'd be much like listening to this song at 3 in the morning. this is probably my favorite album this month.

  • I may be high right now, haha. This song doesn't feel like being in this state but I like it.

  • On my album, this song is number 16, of disc one.

  • this is 18, i've got the album.

  • this is 17 actually, not trying to be rude

  • sooo the video I have named 17, is wrong too? :z

  • yeah kinda, they have to be renamed only by 1 number likje ghost 35 is 34 actualy

  • I highly doubt that. ;x It's been over a year since I uploaded this and you're the first to mention that. Plus if I labeled them wrong I think ninoffical would have noted me when they made the copyright claims.

anddd Ghost 1 would be Ghost 0? Does not make any sense. >:l

  • I think Ornerysob is judging based on the Amazon ads at the bottom of the vid...

I think the advertisement screwed up at 15 Ghosts II, because after that one they're all a number behind.

Plus, you can tell that they're the right track based on their track length.

  • this is 18 actually, not trying to be rude

I used Shazam, (a music id app) It says its 18, dont trust the amazon ad -_-

  • All is well then. :D

  • 18 is played live.

  • i suppose all 36 tracks do stand alone well,

but to follow "implied" instructions from the

album's title,i listen to the album in sections (Ghosts I,9 tracks)

  • His electronic stuff is so much more profound than that bland pop rock bullshit.

  • what, the fragile?

  • Just about everything after downword spiral. Pay attention to the lyrics. Hes admits hes done.

  • eh....i don't really care!

    i like all his music!

  • mmm? wats going on in trents head? brill work

  • This one makes me feel better

  • Why does 18 have almost 40000 views when all the others have 10000ish? Lol.

  • Weird isn't it. A total mystery. It's certainly one of the best tracks on Ghosts in my opinion. I must have listened to it about 30,000 times. Wait a sec...

  • 32 is the best and then 24 in my opinion, but they are all good enough

  • 4s my fave, but they all are really kool to me

  • They play 18 live.

  • @Aueneye

    i dont get it

  • 18 is a number people search more for???

  • Because they play 18 live.

  • very krafwerkish

  • I prefer his instrumentals like 'gone still' much more compared to this, but its good... Different! Yey trent!

  • sound sex

  • nice

  • I like this one now too

  • it sounds like a ghost and its jangly

  • a Wonderful track.....

a LOUSY video --- more to still photography than actual filmmaking/videography...

This MUSIC is RESPLENDENT and FATHOMLESS in its SCOPE and DEPTH...

    Come on ppl!!

Turn ON your brains and Reallly produce **ADEQUATE** ENGAGING visuals!!

  • fool

  • ^_^ ..... Yes...

I was... [still am]: a FOOL.

It's classic case of one's mouth making the REST of you trip upon yourself and rolling down a FLIGHT of concrete stairs: Or simply tasting one's [MY] own shoe soles ('cause I shoved me own foot way up inside my mouth)!

The day after I posted that comment I went to the official NIN site: I turned **BEET RED*** and my mouth went DRY! For all I know I DISSED Trent Reznor himself (u never know -- we all clearly realize how Utterly BRILLIANT he is! :(

  • you didn't like it before you knew it was his, so you're saying that you like the work that he does merely because it is his work - and not because of its inherent quality.

    that's a bit concerning.

  • best instrumental album of the year so far!!Its like being difted off to your own personal skycastle.

Big up yourself Trent. Lovin your work.

Anyone who thinks that this piece of art isn't music desperately need to get smacked....with the chopaxe. d:-)

  • just sit back a feel the vibes...that all you have to do...every song will trigger different thoughts and moods. Its like experimenting on your own brain.

    XXX

    PIG

  • i like number 29..

  • What is it that you like about 29,any thing particular.

  • So many sad people out there, get a grip on it! Who are you to say what's good or not, where are your innovating music and albums!I like my music to be as diverse as the people i have known through my life, different and exciting.

  • no no no no no no NO NO NO NO NO!!!

    this isnt music.

this is a progression of unsupervised, random, repeated, increasing beats, without lyrics to company them

    what happened to NIN?

  • listen to reznor's intro to the ghosts project. It's not supposed to be all about the standard NIN idea. It's not supposed to be about standard musical ideas at all.

  • so if you don't like it, it's not music? take a deep breath and try to engage your brain and think about it for a second.

  • oh... lol you have a point...

sry for dissin NIN... its just not the kind of music i expected from them...

  • i understand, i get a shock also when i hear a new album from someone and it's different than their other stuff :)

  • This is regression into minimalism and something that should simply be called "noises" who happen to fall within a fairly structured beat.

  • noises aren't people.

  • Progression? No, that implies it gets better. Year Zero was, amazingly enough, even more of a terd than With Teeth was.

  • I think they were on the same level. I don't think anything is going to be as good as Fragile.

  • this band is making HISTORY

  • I love this track.. Super & Enigmatic...

  • i dont care what you all think, i'm going to that concert

  • what the fuck a true fan of music an nin in general would love the path that hes taken with sound

  • guys buyin Ghosts ii-iv is pointless(unless you like instrumental techno) they have ghosts i free at the website

  • NIN tickets in seattle are at least two hundred bucks a piece. no wonder chosts was so inexpensive, he gets enough money from ticket sales.

  • Reznor doesn't do music for money if he was, he would be planning a big fucking tour with Manson and charging a lot of money for the tickets 'cause he knows we the fans would pay anything or almost anything for it. I don't know about that family thing but he's few of the artist out there that deserves every penny that he charges in his cd's, dvd's and concerts in general they're amazing just like Tool's!!

  • His name is Mr. Tiddles. He's 27 years old, so a bit of mileage on the old clock, and but otherwise a real find.

  • Do you reckon. I have a spare aunt if he's interested. Let's start the bidding at $200. Do i hear 200?

  • does she come with a cat?

  • heh heh...well , what's she look like ??

  • $450 if she puts a shoe on her head.

  • Funnily enough she has a hat made of shoes. It's a Flip-Flop Fedora.

  • Ooh... $535 if she puts on a Sandal Sombrero. But unless you can tempt me further with your ludicrously witty taste in aunt's clothing, that's where I'm staying.

  • Dio che Genio!

    By

    Zeus

  • music and visuals remind me a bit of aphex twin, especially of "druqks"... think that's great :)

  • hmm really? trying to make money? thats strange since it was release FREE on all the main torrent sites by Trent himself. Get your facts straight you douche bag.

  • hmmmm,so how did he make over a million dollars selling a bunch of crap? Its a scam. yeah its free but then he gets all these douche bags to buy a 300 dolar special edition. maybe you should check your facts. thats the genius part, he gave gave it away, but somehow makes millions on garbage. I'm not accusing him of being stupid, but i am accusing you of being retarded.

  • people choose to buy stuff, they aren't forced to. those who would buy an expensive deluxe edition obviously deem it worthy of the money.

  • I agree with you man, if we wanted to buy garbage we would buy Justin Timberlake shit or any American Idol's "music" So to finish my comment Marilyn Manson and NIN work is some of the work that I buy without even listening anything before hand because you know these guys make great music.

  • Marilyn Manson is absolute crap. Trent Reznor is a skilled musician and has produced some awesome music, which thankfully most of Ghosts qualifies, but he's also created some absolute crap music, like Year Zero, and really most of Nine Inch Nails, excluding The Fragile and Ghosts.

  • WTF. You obviously have quite a narrow perspective on music. NIN were one the first bands to bring industrial music into mainstream consciousness where I am guessing is where you first heard of them.

    "...excluding The Fragile and Ghosts."

    DUH

What about Pretty Hate Machine, or perhaps The Downward Spiral, or hey what about Broken, they only got 2 Grammy Awards for it.

As for MM, they did the amazing early angst ridden albums, you cant really blame them for 'mellowing out' a bit.

  • freeky, keep your shitty comments to yourself.

  • nice opinion. drugs work.

  • Year Zero was fucking awesome and most def. a progression in his music.

  • "a witha teetha" is worse.

  • i'm not so sure about manson anymore.. maybe when he cleans himself up.. but i buy trent's stuff to support him as much as anything else. i've loved all his albums and to fair- he has really taken an interest in meeting his fans half way on the internet download front. the man's a pioneer! I'm proud to buy his music.

  • *Reznor fan* Call it what you like, but that's the beauty of aesthetics; it's absolutely relative (ie. couldn't care less about what you think). For me at least... it's somewhere par to buying a shotgun from a pacifist, or a flower from a war criminal... Not the madening grind like The Downward Spiral, but easy to appreciate when you know it's origins

  • if he was just trying to make some money then why would he make a 2 disc album of all untitled instrumentals?

  • electronic or not electronic, trent still kicks ass..

i like this new "album" the same way i like with teeth..

    the man only does masterpieces

  • I was afraid Trent was going to abandon electronics more and more after having heard "With Teeth" Im so glad he didnt. There so few bands that really tread the same territory like Skinny Puppy or disquieter of subtracting all the rules from writing music.

  • What sets NIN apart from other bands is the concept behind the music and its originality.

  • notice how he says "FIRST four volumes of Ghosts"? there may be more coming. it seems like this is NIN playing math rock kind of stuff. i love it. very emotive without words.

  • Trent Reznor makes awesome sounds, especially on the album With Teeth, the song 'Only' is stuck in my fucking head, it's so awesome.

  • i've been listening nin for a few years and at any release i always think "it just can't get any better", and trent always prove that i'm wrong, this is fuc*** awesome.

  • Agreed, mate. The creativity just never stops. This is the kind of thing that demonstrates the difference between music that will be heard for a few years, and music that can be pondered and appreciated fifty years after it's written.

I mean, look at The Downward Spiral. Twenty-some years after its release, Spiral is still one of the most downright dangerous-sounding albums yet to be made by anyone.

  • I think that the best part of the album is just the fact that it's a change of style. There is a different between artists who stay in their niche and always just keep releasing the same old albums and those who truly break out and take a risk.

This album was a risk, but it really paid off.

  • Actually "The Downward Spiral" was released in 1994. That would make it 14 years, not twenty-some. ;)

Trent's first album, "Pretty Hate Machine", was released in 1989.

  • D'oh. I stand corrected. Keep getting my release dates mixed up. :O) Thanks.

  • sounds really good. i like this track

  • This really is in the same league as classical music, that Reznor, he's only a bloody Mozart.

  • nin never disappoint reminds me of skinny puppy quite a bit too love it (as well as most of the ghosts album i've heard)

  • Am I just baked...or is there absolutely no video?

  • pretty good ^^

  • I think this is my favorite haha

  • aaaaaaaawesome!!

  • trent is the man he takes aim at the record industry like radio cuz the record companys try to steal from artist and make them work for chump change.. trent all the way

  • nice

  • can someone tell me if there will be an "official release" like radiohead did? i would pay 1000 bucks for this.

  • you can get it of their official websight

  • There will be. Album ships to stores April 8th.

  • Sweet! :-) Just in time for the first anniversary of YZ yaaaaaaaaaay bye.

  • go to his official website and spend $10 you get all the songs in a download 320kps and you get the cd shipped to you In april. for a nice lossless rip to your computer ;)

  • good luck actually downloading it from the site though, ive spent $10 and god knows how much bandwidth trying to get it but the servers keep timing out... so now im listening to it all on youtube for the first time... musical experiment indeed!

  • It's an amazingly unique & interactive musical experiment. You're a bit hasty to blame the site, I downloaded it no prob on 1st try & on a semi-crap computer. Sounds likely the prob is on your end-try troubleshooting via the control panel; check server setting configurations, firewalls, connection speeds etc.Running a virus scan never hurts, esp if u notice your computer running slow with other applications. Maybe try a diff web browser- esp if u use Int Explorer-I recommend Opera or Firefox.
