  • Great Video, Michael. Am looking forward to seing Janis in the Uk, later in the year, at Brighton, hopefully!

  • So Beautiful, saw her recently in Keene ,NH. Took my 17 year old daughter and my husband. Dynamic performance. Love her, love her over and over.

    tell janis she is majic.

  • God bless janis ian:

  • wow m.c. -- i like the billies bones remix, how can i purchase it?

  • Sorry Mega and thanks for the comp. The shake your bones mix was created as a gift to Janis as part of this Tribute and is not for sale. Although, I would love to hear it played in a club cause Janis Rules!

  • you can purchase the bones remix by going to the nearest stockists and buy it from them.

  • I just googled Matthew Wayne Shepard and I was really moved, some people need to open their mind.

  • wow this brought back a lot of memories saw her live in concert in Cork city Ireland wow must be 28 years ago i still love her voice and her lyrics especially Sugar Mountain

  • A beautiful, sensitive and intelligent song writer. Why isn't she more well known? She is one of the greats. Thanks for this truibute.

  • A amazing Artist that made words that will stay in our hearts and never be forgotten......x

  • I have always admired her and been deeply touched by some of her tracks ('In the winter' is a killer), but until I saw her live quite recently had no idea of just what an amazing live performer she would be. My God she blew the audiance away, not only with perfect delivery of every note and lyric but will fantastic, witty links between each song. She is a ture genius who sadly does not get the recognision today that she obviously deserves. Thanks for many hours of sorrow and joy x

  • For me "Love is Blind" is the best song of Janis Ian.

  • anybody have janeys blues to share thnx

  • Those of us who understand her music will always love her.I feel sorry for those who don't get it.

  • KInd of the female Dylan. A troubadour since a teenager and still out there rocking. A GREAT guitar player but a poignant writer. Keep rocking Janis Ian.

  • I am a huge Janis Ian fan; I have almost all of her albums and have seen her in concert several times...thank you for this beautiful tribute!

  • Janis is very much alive!! Mike thanks for uploading this beautiful tribute. so glad to be able to see it again.

  • Her singing style is so gentle and beautiful. I would say Norah Jones would be the closet artist that sounds like her today.

  • You might want to also see Mike's video Angels Forever...It's beautiful!

  • Thanks Mike,

I have loved "At 17", "Will You Dance?" and "In the Winter" and I will love to listen to and sing them till my death.

Janis Ian is well known singer in Japan. Actually, over a million Records (not CD) were sold in Japan decades ago. It was a big hit.

    From Tokyo, Japan

  • I understand where Janis is coming from.. Mike Thanks for posting this. I love Janis Ian and here music forever and ever. I think she's some kind of a genius

  • Mike, that would make anyone proud. What a great tribute to a wonderful woman. I will love her and her art till the day I die.

  • ...very emotional viddy..Janis Ian is

    a badass.

  • Janis Ian is very much alive. Education today is worthless. Tributes are given to people who are also living. Education today is a waste of time.

  • Love in defense of those who thought she passed...maybe they didn't know that or just assumed that she was because most of the time when you hear tribute...the person usually passed. Why be so anal about it? Why so insulting? Education probably was wasted on you perhaps? How rude.

  • Nice posting. Thanks.

  • Another of Americas wonderful singer songwriters..thank you for the music janis and the poetry wrapped up in it..love from England.

  • You don't have to be dead to have a celebration event in your honour. Janis is very much alive and I hope will be for a long time to come.

Many thanks for posting this,Mike -- she's one of my all-time heroines. There's Janis Ian and Leonard Cohen and then there are the others.

  • i didn't know janis ian had died. she will be missed.

  • Thanks for posting that Mike!! It's as terrific as I remember! Can you believe it's been THREE years since Indiana??

  • I think I can speak for the legions of Janis Ian fans, when I say, her music helped many of us come into ourselves, and come out, as well.

  • Wonderful Mike, That was a Beautiful Tribute to a Beautiful Woman. Thank you so very much for sharing it, especially, for those who missed it.

    Peace, Darlene

  • Fantastic!!! Thank you Mike.

  • Wonderful to see both the voice and the event commemorated. We remember...and good Rudies all, hope for more.

  • Mike, thank you so much for posting this! I have a wonderful memory of sitting behind Janis as we all watched this for the first time. I'm so happy to be able to see it again.

    You ROCK!!

    Hugs, Karen
