I was in Straight Inc. in Springfield, VA for 5 months in 1989. Made 2nd Phase & my entire house copped out. I was the only one who wasn't returned to the program. I watched the entire film for the first time last night & it captures so much of what I experience down to the smallest detail. I'll start by informing you that anyone who doesn't blindly obey authority like a brainwashed tool isn't a 'bad' person. You're not somehow more important or more intelligent than someone else simply because of your age. Now, while most teenagers and adults are simply brainwashed tools, indoctrinated to believe what society, the government, their parents, and even churches tell them to, your sense of morals is not absolute.
You don't have control over other people. No matter what, you'll simply die, and your 'accomplishments' will likely mean nothing. Despite what society promotes, anyone who isn't a brainwashed tool (non-brainwashed tools probably only encompass 1% of society) is likely more intelligent than their inferior counterpart, who can't even think for themselves. Children aren't slaves, you don't control them anymore than you do a roommate or some random person who walks into your house.

"Real" boot camp so you're telling me that in the marines boot camp you can't speak to your family or have any connection to the outside world, you get beaten up, sexually abused, raped, forced to eat your feces, and even killed(because kids have died in these kinds of places)?! Was in michigan Detroit straight for ten months at 15. 23 years later I'm still trying to define the effect it had on me. Nightmares, PTSD, u name it. Just recently I read a study that said most of us will have amnesia till 20-25 years later, WTF? Then we will start to remember. What the hell did they do to us?

I'm a recovering addict with 3 and a half years clean and my experience has been very positive. The nightmare was when I was using. I now for a fact that most treatment centers are in no way like it is depicked in this trailor. If you are struggling, don't let this stop you from getting help. I don't no anything about any treatment centers like this and I hear addicts stories all the time. It makes me wonder if this writer is in denial & has a resentment which effects his perception of events.

After 20 years, I still have weekly nightmares, PTSD, panic attacks, and severe social problems. They use abuse and humiliation to get kids to do what they are told to do. Horrible abuse and I know from my own experiences that they DO EXIST and that they ARE ABUSIVE and they leave a scar on your life forever.
wat the f*** are they doing at 40 sec. in the video. i googled that straight inc. place cause i couldnt believe that this actually happaned and there was a picture of like a huge room of teens doing that.
A string of cult-like rehabs that made up excuses to take in teenagers that would abuse and torture them, before spitting them out as brainwashed, tormented shells of their former selves.
